Hey Sunny, i've lived in Toronto for a good part of my life and I've
never seen knee-deep snow for more than a couple of days at a time since
I was six years old. Take a look at a map of North America some time.
You'll see that Southern Ontario sticks way south of places like Montana
or Maine. In addition, Toronto is on the lee side of Lake Ontario so we
don't get anywhere near the amount of snow that places like Buffalo get.
Mostly all we get is a couple inches which immediately turns to slush.

Hey, does anyone remember the episode where Jannet has the "magic earring"?
The one that keeps dissappearing when she's talking to Nick. I've got some
friends addicted, and I wanted to show them. :)

Oh, that's funny. I noticed it too. Those were obviously different takes.
It's in "I Will Repay" the second time Nick visits Janette about the
fledgling.

Oh, ok!
I was actually quoting a friend who had lived in Toronto for a while when
I said knee-deep snow. But Ontario is a cooler province nonetheless, say
compared to BC, which is where I live, and I thought it would be
appropriate for them to show some snow, at least in an episode when they
talk about the weather being cold.

It gets VERY cold in Arkansas, USA, but we don't really get much snow so I
don't find it odd at all.

But I wonder if one of our FK vampires would mind the snow? Could they fly
and move around in blizzards? What about ice storms? Do they ice up in
freezing rain? Could you imagine an ice cycle dangling from LaCroix's nose?

Well, it COULD happen.

Hi,
Just went to Toronto for the first time this summer. What a great city!
I did notice that for the entire time we were there the temperature was
consistantly a few to ten degrees warmer than it was in Chicago where I live
which is quite a bit south. It must have something to do with where on the
lake the cities are located. I believe that Toronto's weather runs pretty
consistantly with Chicago's unlike Buffalo which gets a lot more snow than we
do. This I know is a fact because I remember a blizzard here some years back
where we had to import snow removal equipment from Buffalo because they keep
so much more of it than we do here.
Just my 2 cents worth,
Patty

I live in MN, which people also seem to envision as an arctic
wasteland. Actually, this summer has been mostly hot and muggy until
recently (90 degrees Fahrenheit and higher). Some winters are drier
than others, but there have been times when the snowbanks were taller
than me, especially way up north.

This makes me wonder, since the Northern US (especially MN) can get
as dark as Southern Canada, if the vampire community would have ever
moved to MN. Perhaps the Vikings could have been the Ravens instead?

And given their lower body temperature, it might take a while for them to
thaw out :-)

My heartfelt sympathy for KC, you and your family. I'll keep her and your
family in my prayers, and hope that everything goes well with her treatment and
that she makes a full recovery.

We miss hearing from her here on the FK lists.

I'm blanking on the title, but at the beginning of the episode
John Kapelos wrote, the one where Schanke plans to move to
Arizona and join a friend in the PI business, there's snow. In
fact, it starts with Schanke unable to get his car started,
wearing a heavy coat and a muffler, and ends with him yelling at
the sky, "I hate snow!"

Since JK is a Canadian, born and raised in London, Ontario, who
spent several years in Chicago with Second City before moving to
Los Angeles, I have wondered if this scene is autobiographical.
