Umm, no. 2008-2009 will be the Year of the Rat (says she who is a Metal
Rat, born in the Month of the Horse, and should know). 2001-2002 will be
the Year of the Metal Snake.

Is there a feminine side of Taurus?

Because I think such a sign would be perfect for Nicholas.

Really. I don't understand all this fuss!

LaCroix is The General (..Pain oh, c'mon! you can't expect me to be
serious here!)
Nick is The Bovine (although Janette did once describe him as a Wolf, but
she may have been referring to another type of wolf altogether... ahem!
<eg>)
Screed is The Rat (or Mouse if he's on his Weight Watcher's program. What?
He doesn't look fat? See how good that program is!)
Natalie is (i was going to put 'shrew' but i want to live) The Cat
Janette is The Plate (as in 'Fashion') in some circles referred to as The
Dish
Schanke is The Lamb (Souvlaki, not Sacrifice......unless your one of TPTB)

A whole year dedicated to VACHON!

(okay, explanation for those who do not get the joke...such as it is:
Vachon = lots of hair = clogged drains = need for metal snake ie, yer
handy-dandy clog cleaning tool.)

Well, I just want to come out of lurkdom for a moment to wish everyone, new
and old, a Happy New Year! Of course, I would get pelted with arguments if
I called it the new millenium, so I'll not open that can of worms. <G>
Anywho, best wishes for a new year to all! (and may we not be *too* hung
over on the 1st.) <EG>

Would one of you very helpful Torontonians please tell me what your science
fiction cable channel is called? And/or what tv channel might carry something
like STAR WARS or BACK TO THE FUTURE?

And, since that's not obviously an FK topic.... did anyone know that the guy
who plays Harper (Gordon Woolvett) on Gene Roddenberry's ANDROMEDA was in FK's
"Can't Run, Can't Hide"? Or that he was in "Bride Of Chucky" with Ben Bass?

Canada really is just one small town, isn't it?

It's called SPACE: the Imagination Station.

If you consider 29 million people a small town, sure. <g>

Really? I was reading an astrology site a couple of days ago and it said that
2001 was the year of the rat.

Lemme see if I can find that site again

First of all, happy "real" millennium to everyone.

Now with that in mind, was I dreaming when I saw this:

Or, was this:

a) A Y2K+1 bug
or
2) A clever trick of sleight of cut-and-paste?

Just curious!

well as the other FK fans in Arkansas, following our horrible ice storm. Those
in the US have probably seen pictures on the news. My office opens at 10 a.m.
today, but I came in earlier to warm up and check my e-mail! <g>

I was also in Arkansas during the Ice storm (although I was up in Northwest
Arkansas, which was not quite as bad as Little Rock, I suspect). I had flown in
for Christmas to see my family. I landed just before the Ice Storm hit. My
family was without power for a maximum of 8 hours, so I wasn't quite so badly
off.

However, I was snowed in, and unable to leave again for three days. The Airport
in Bentonville was completely glazed over. Some people were taking busses to
get out of the state. My Uncle, who works for an electric company, hasn't been
home since Christmas. He's out trying to get Libby's power back on, I suspect.

> Many of you may have seen "Hot Springs" footage on the news with ice an inch
thick on Magnolia trees. I live sort of between Hot Springs and Little Rock in
Benton (NOT Bentonville, home of Walmart, which is up in the Northwest of the
state - I'm in Central Arkansas). Anyway, what you're seeing on the news is what
it looks like around my house. Trees and utility lines down everywhere.

I hope your power is back on, libby. If not, I hope you are staying warm.

To keep this on topic: What do you think the cast of FK would think about this
Ice Storm.

I think Natalie would be bundled up like Libby, and snuggled up with Sydney.
She wouldn't go near any vampire, because they're incapable of putting out any
heat.

Nick would probably be checking on Natalie. He'd be confused as to why she
didn't want to go near him. ;)

Janette would bemoan the inconvienence of it all. Especially when her wine
distributor couldn't make his delivery due to ice and snow. This wouldn't hurt
her buisness, however. Most of her customers can fly.

LaCroix would laugh at our mortal follies. He lived in a time without
electricity. He probably thinks that it's silly that we're so dependant on it.
However he secretly admires the resiliance of all those people who bought those
Y2K generators and food supplies, because they're the most comfortable right
now.

Nick claimed to have been born on Jan. 1, 1958, so today is his official
birthday. Personally I think it's unlikely to have been his mortal birthday
because I can't see him as a Capricorn.

Oh, yes, and Happy New Year to all of us!

As a Taurus myself, I agree.
