Kyer seconds this inquiry. If nothing else, it would keep Dark Squirette
from risking pseudo life & limb breaking into Lacroix's place in order to
steal the darn thing. ;)
Will purchase one if available.
(but what's the fun in that?)

If we find a jeweler willing to make copies of that pin, then we are going
to need a really good pic or two of the piece to show around.

Anyone got a clearer photo than this one at Lisa's Lair?

I've just had a thought, though. We know vampires can survive on any
mammalian blood; they just don't like it as much. How much do you want to
bet that it's not only Screed that makes do with rats for purposes of daily
nutrition? Maybe it's only the vampire aristocracy that can afford a
constant diet of human blood - and even LaCroix tends to cut it with wine
... LaCroix & Janette object to Nick's diet of bovine not because they've
never done it themselves, but because they think he's slumming! Come on,
Nick, you can afford better than this ... (g)

Or perhaps, as someone else suggested, they only get live prey at
Thanksgiving and Christmas (Saturnalia, for the elders)?

The Universe is Doomed! Can you imagine the Master as a vampire? Like
the Universe didn't already have enough evil villians...

NightAngel - wishing she had her own TARDIS so she could skip over all

Huh????

What "modified" button? In fact, what *any* button?
All I see on the site are a bunch of folders with text file stories inside.
The only buttons are on my IE5 browser, and none of them say 'modified'.

Would some kind soul please re-post the address of the FTP site?
My laptop died-yeah, the NEW, UNPAID FOR one-and I am limping along on an
elderly Mac. All my good FK stuff is on the dead laptop and I have no clue
where Stephanie has her site.

Maybe somebody more medically-qualified than I am can confirm this, but I
seem to recall learning in my first aid class that an adult can only lose
two litres of blood before they die from hypovolemic shock (i.e shock
caused by blood loss).

Also, those bottles in Nick's fridge look like they're 750 ml to me, not a
full litre (or quart, even). Certainly almost all the wine bottles I see
here in Canada are 750 ml.

So, let's see, a person can give up 2 litres of blood before their heart
stops pumping it to the neck for the benefit of a hungry vamp. (That would
explain why it doesn't take very long to 'drain' a victim, a point that
always kinda bugged me--drinking 5 litres is *time-consuming*!) That would
be the same as roughly 2 1/2 bottles from Nick's fridge, or half its usual
contents.

Your humble & obedient servant,
Ligeia

Subject: Catherine Disher on CBC Radio

I just caught the very end of this one: Catherine Disher as the voice of
superwoman 'Mary Marvel' in a 25-minute comedy on CBC Radio One, during the
last half hour of _Richardson's Roundup_ (3:30-4:00 pm local time,
broadcast nationally). It's a funny show, I'm sorry I missed the first two
parts. The final ep will air next Monday in that slot, and they will no
doubt be rerun again sometime over the summer.

Here's the barest of information on the show (it's on the very bottom of
the page):

It's not a button, it's a field name. Just below your IE5 toolbar you should see
four labels: name, size, type, and modified. If you click on any of those field
names, Windows sorts the items underneath it, first in ascending order (A-Z /
0-9), and then in descending order (Z-A / 9-0) if you click it again. This
sorting mechanism works in Windows Explorer as well -- it's a Microsoft
standard.

Note: You must have your view set to "Details", not Small Icons, Large Icons, or
List. On the menu bar, click View—Details to alter the screen to see these field
labels.

Oh man do I know this well! So many songs make me think of FK. The most
recent one is Tim McGraw's Please Remember Me (Dead of Night). I only heard
that little phrase. There are so many that are like FK stories in song
format, so many that bring up story ideas. Makes it very hard to listen to
the radio.

Nick has gone for a week, maybe a couple without any blood. He was proud of
that too.

I don't know how much blood a vampire needs.

How much does it take to satisfy First Hunger?

If this keeps up, I am going to be forced to finish my other FK
fictions so I can work on my X-Files/FK cross-over where LaCroix
reveals what really was going on at Roswell in 1947.
