Undeath And The City (00/13)
A Sex and the City/Forever Knight Xover

Because the 'Sex And The City' series is based upon Candace Bushnell's book by
the same name, this story cannot be posted on FKFIC-L as per list rules. This
post is an advertisement that the story is complete and ready for reading,
which McLisa said was allowed when I asked last July. None of the actual text
of this story will appear on the lists. This message contains details on how
to obtain the stories, and info for those curious as to what the story is

Candace Bushnell, produced by Darren Star, and can be seen on HBO. No

simply wanted to throw two of my favorite shows together since some of these
characters seemed made for each other. I'll be quiet now.

Today's Washington Post had an article titled "Toothless Terror (They Used
to be Scintillating and Sexy. Now the Undead are Bor-ring)"

In it the author (his name is Hank Stuever) asks "Who wants to succumb to a
vampire anymore?"His answer is "Except for thousands of mopey, marginalized
teenagers and bored, middle-aged cat lovers who are all playing vampire role
games on the Internet, the answer is nobody."

He goes on to list several TV shows and movies (not including FK) that
support his point that vampires are no longer scary. But then he goes on to
say that they're not even sexy anymore.

Anyone want to set him straight about our favorite vampires and the fact
that they managed to be sexy on a regular basis and even scary in some eps.
Not to mention the fact that I'm neither a marginalized teenager nor a
middle aged cat lover (I'm a dog person myself) playing vampire role play
games.

Makes sense to me. I agree that she looks stricken when he tells her this,
though she makes a good recovery. But it must have been in their minds from
the beginning that there would be a romantic tinge to the Nick/Nat
relationship - why else would they have made Dr. Lambert, a male in the
original movie, into a beautiful woman? At the very least, they were
leaving their options open; and giving us a hint that even early on, Nat was
more affected by Nick than she was letting herself know, let them play it
any way they wanted.

McLisa, as one of the oldest surviving fans onlist, sits up creaking in her
rocking chair :) and comments:

I don't think I've ever heard a definite statement on why the doctor's
gender was changed. However, I do remember reading that Catherine Disher and
Ger decided in the beginning to play a subtext that Natalie was in love with
Nick. FK gave its cast a lot more leeway than most shows to decide
parameters for their characters. This was a good thing, since they had an
experienced cast with strong stage backgrounds. IMHO, it was one of the
reasons the FK characters were so three-dimensional.

Subject: FK Jackets!

Please pass on...

Hi y'all sorry to bug those who aren't interested but I have a price check
on those stadium jackets I was talking about in my last post.
They are quilt lined, with denim sleeves, a large FK logo embroidered on the
back and small one on the front(optional). and the price will be at about
$80US dollars!

The one catch is that it will need to be made in a bulk order! And they will
take 6-7 weeks to manufacture.
So if you want one tell me NOW!<G> No payment now I just need numbers! I
will try and get a picture next week when I meet with the sales rep.
Take advantage of the low Kiwi dollar! These jackets can cost upwards of
$150US in the States.

hugs to all!
Kylie.

I saw that you sell red polos with a small FK insignia. Since I have to
wear a red polo to work, this would be perfect.

Unfortunately, I can't deal with anything *but* personal check.
Would you have a purchaser in the continental U.S. who would be willing to
buy from you, and then reship to me? I will pay all expenses incurred.

Yes, I know this is a pain, I go through this for tapes, too. But I live
the life of Nick under LaCroix over here. No joke.
