Typo sounds just like 'type O' (blood) which was the type all the victims in
Dark Knight had.

Now, were there any episodes where a vampire expressed a preference for a
blood type? Other than fresh from the 'pipes', that is.

Grinned, :)

Would anybody care for some limburger cheese on the blood tears question?

Maybe their tears only contain blood when they are under extreme stress
(like the blood sweating).  Feeling okay, the liquid is regular clear stuff;
feeling all terribly angsty (Nick and Serena) the blood vessels break and
the tears get scarlet.

Howzat?

Hiya all! While skiming through outlines of Nigel's eps of Lexx, I found the
link to the site that bought rights to produce Lexx vids. I went there and
they *do* have a feedback form, incase you should like to ask for a series
on video....So anyone who doesn't mind taking 2 minutes to do so should go
to their site and make a request for Forever Knight. Tell 'em you love the
show, and would certainly enjoy having available on VHS/DVD.

Here's the link to the feedback form:

One of the comparisons through me for a loop. It says that FK vampires
have "Fangs are hollow (like a snake, but for sucking, not injecting)".
Did I miss something? I don't recall ever seeing anything like that.

This appears to be a UK video company, so if they were able to get the series
on VHS/DVD they would probably not be available to the NTSC standards of the
US and Canada. The UK is on a PAL standard. Those fortunate enough to have
PAL/NTSC converters would be in a good position though. This isn't to say
that asking would be a wasted effort, just that if they were able to get them
put on video they probably wouldn't be viewable to the N. American standard
unless there was an alliance with another company such as Columbia House....

Each time I get cut off half way through, this happens with both the AVI and

Has anyone been able to see it?

If so, is it even worth trying so hard?

Not to be too nitpicky here, but from the standpoint of FK's
universe, if Nick had had reddish or pink eye fluid or saliva,
I think it might have been hard for him to be a cop. There
would just be too many people to whammy into not noticing that
kind of abnormality.

Well, I'm not sure if every vampire legend has the prohibition
against reflection and I agree that it was more cost effective
to ignore it for filming purposes. But I think it also makes
FK vampires a bit more realistic (actually I've never understood
why a vampire of myth "corpse" shouldn't have a reflection).
I'm also glad they avoided the turning into mist or bats thing,
for the same reason. One can speculate on a more scientific
reason for FK vampires.

On another note, my poem Dark Night has made the final ballot
for the fkfic awards. To whoever nominated this (or any of my
works), thank you.

If I remember correctly, WAAAAYYYY back then, people did not understand
reflections, and what they were. They felt that the reflection was an image
of the soul. If a vampire did not have a soul, hence they could not have a
reflection..... Then it just became the vampire...thing! ;-)

My take on vampires being cold is that they would use the oxygen slower
from the red cells. If my memory serves (long time ago when I was in
school?!) red blood cells have a 21 day life span. When the vampire
feeds he/ she gets old and new cells. Since they don't have to breathe
( except to talk) and they can't make their own red cells, they need
frequent red cells replacements (ie lunch!) in order to have the muscle
function.
As to red tears and saliva, the blody fluids that make these don't come
directly from the circulatory system. I think they are closer to the
lymphatic system in their origin. But I'd have to go look that up too.
Since Nick works with the public and "pink eye" is contagious, he would
be off work a long time if his eyes were reddened!

In one story I read (I believe it was one of P.N. Elrod's Jack Fleming
stories), vampires don't have a reflection because since their first death,
they are slightly out of time sync with the rest of us. Since mirrors are
static in time and there fore reflect static objects, vampires don't
reflect.

Although PN Elrod's vamps and the FK ones are very different.

As for mirrors being static in time, they surf along in the present with the
rest of us, always assuming that time is more than just a convenient concept
<g>. You can do weird things with mirrors and the Theory of Special Relativity
(like stop them reflecting), but the whole reflection business with vamps
requires a hefty portion of Oxford Blue cheese for me.

There are a couple of references in the story to the effect of a

passing into its victim during the attack. Perhaps its blood?

Nah, Laurie, if that were true, Nick wouldn't be able to fly at all.
But maybe he cannot fly faster than sound anymore.
That would explain why he can never really escape LaCroix, who

Here's another question: Do the fangs remain in the wound, or do they pull
