Subject: LC for Prez Pins Update

Hi!

This is to let everyone know that I've mailed a 'LaCroix for
President' pin to everyone who's requested one as of March 6, 2000.

If you requested a pin more than a week ago, and you haven't received it
yet, I've had a wee problem with about 10% of the mailings. A few envelopes
have been returned for insuffucient postage, despite having a post office
worker weigh the little suckers and tell me how much postage was appropriate!
So, for you nine people who are wondering where your pins are, I've
just remailed them, and hopefully they will reach you safe, sound, and soon.

A side note to everyone who's asked about the LC for Prez T-shirt I mentioned...
I bought one in 1996; I wasn't the person who made them, so I'm afraid I
can't help anyone out who was interested in getting a T-shirt for themselves.

Lastly, pins are still available, so you can still send me a request for one.
I'm going to be traveling AFK until Sunday, though, so I won't be sending
any off until I return.

I got my pin last week, and it's quite snazy looking. I've worn it several
times while out and about. It turned into quite a conversation piece at a
coffee house last Friday. <g>

Great job Bons!

Steve, thanks so much for putting this together, I
know I appreciate all your efforts.

At the risk of stating the obvious, though, I do
hope everyone recognizes this sheet as a
starting point with which to nominate and
is by no means a complete list of eligible fiction.

So, after perusing the sheet, be sure and check
out the fanfic website, the website links, and the
ftp site. There are some gems out there, both
current and historic, waiting to be discovered.

 Happy hunting :[

Just thought I'd mention that it is not the "raw" vote that determines the
position of of show on the charts. The points are judged by the type of votes.

IE: If you have registered with Global Charts, you vote counts for more. And
if you have filled in more personal data and put the key number that they
send you in to your profile, then your vote counts as even higher.

Does anyone remember a Xover story posted in which Fleur turns out to be

I cannot remember how it ends, who wrote it, or even if it was ever finished.
It might have been one of those that someone started to post and it was never
finished.

Can anyone help?

Aha, so these chart thingies really are simply a means for collecting
marketing data. People who participate in voting in a big way should be
aware they are probably handing over information that will be sold to
marketers.

Have fun, but be careful if you want to preserve your privacy.

Global 100 Charts states somewhere that it doesn't use your info for
commercial use, so I doubt that.

Susan Field, head of KTK, sends this chart to the Powers that Be monthly, so
yes they are important and yes you should vote at this one, the Global 100.
And if any power ever did look at a chart this would be the one. This isn't
like the little voting fan booths. This is an actual world vote.

Subject: What our vamps were up to

We know that Nick spent the 20's trying to run from LaCroix, who caught up
with him in Los Angeles. I don't think we know what they were up to in the
30's, but they were obviously on good enough terms in the 40's to be keeping
company again when they met Daniel.

What I wonder, is what the others were up to about that time. I figure
Vachon spent the 30's alternately fighting and feasting during the Spanish
Civil War. I can easily see him trying to combat Franco. I wonder if he was
in the area when Hitler was using Northern Spain as a dress rehearsal for the
Blitzkrieg of London.

I figure Vachon and crew stayed Stateside during WWII and he and Urs cleaned
up at jitterbug competitions. (All that vampiric stamina, don't you know
<g>) I don't think Screed liked WWII much, what with Vachon making him
donate all his shiney-pretties to the war effort. <g>

Any other ideas?
