Greetings to all:

       Hello everyone, Enid here....

First, I want to thank all of you who wished me well.

The emergency was a weird one. I went back to my college recently and
it was raining pretty hard that day and there was a puddle right next to a
flight of stairs and............

BAM!!!!!!!!

I fell, rolled, and slammed hard against the floor. I thought for sure I
would be hospitalized,
but my doctor told me I could stay home. I have some really large bruises
on my back, legs, and butt, and a very, very large knot on my skull.
Besides that, I'm still my freakish fun loving self!
Well, I am back on my mailing lists.

It's good to be back!

Ouch! I'm glad you're not in the hospital. Watching FK and
reading e-mail are two excellent ways to pass the time while
you're healing.

Maybe not *too* cheesy. <g> If you go on the assumption that Janette's
"cure" worked for Nick, then a movie could pick up a few years later, after
he's spent some time aging as a mortal. They could use dialogue, etc., to
fill in the blanks, letting the viewers know what happened after LK ended
and what he's doing now. Then, he could either spontaneously revert or
perhaps be brought back across.

The tricky part would be trying to figure out what would make him choose to
turn away from the light to become a vampire again. But, Nick being Nick,
if the life of someone he cared about hinged on that, I think he'd make the
supreme sacrifice. Once a knight, always a knight. <g>

Hi everyone :)

I don't think anyone's mentioned this yet, sorry if I'm repeating. The
new issue of the on-line magazine 11th Hour has an article that mentions
FK

        It's funny too :)

LOL! It was truly funny. I, too have raged against TPTB who feel the need
to kill off my favorite characters. I'm surprised the article didn't mention
more about FK, as it's killed off more of it's cast than any other show I can
think of...especially if you're not one of us who live in Denialville (where
Ashes to Ashes and Last Knight never happened <g>)... Schanke, Cohen, Screed,
Vachon, Urs, Tracy, Natalie, Nick... has any other show killed off half of
its cast? *sigh*

Now, it's back to Denialville -- where no one is *really* dead. <g>

Cindy Ingram wrote, in the discussion of how to explain the fact that while
Nick and LC are mortal, Ger and Nigel are not and of course now look older
than in 1992:

Natalie's life would be ideal. It would put them back in their positions
from the show and wipe out the Last Knight problem. He needn't have been
mortal for long. His real age is in the 800's, after all. LC could have
demanded his return to being a vampire in exchange for saving Nat after Nick
had almost killed her. That would put him back in the unambgious position of
being the villain to Nick, which imho would be a great improvment.

<Kyer here bows and scrapes before Listmommy so as not to incur her Cousinly
wrath for bringing this up... hehehe Not!>
I may have missed something since I'm kinda speed reading thru stuff (and
typing with my eyes mostly closed to boot!),
but how does that explain LaCroix's ageing?
I agree that I like LC in the villianish loving father role <g>, but I still
favor the Fever solution. And LC could be p.o.'d because he's *aged* and
its *Nick's* fault (its always Nick's fault) that he has to put up with
looking more *old* than his beloved 'old and powerful' image. <eg>

Yeah, but would that explain his aging? Or are we talking about a post-Nat
Nick (think HL3, when we find that Connor MacLeod's wife Brenda died about
a year or so after their post-HL marriage)?

OTOH, if that happened in a soft-focus flashback and/or voice-over, then
the TV-movie and second series could pick up several years down the road,
and Nick and Lacroix really *could* be doing the make-up thing (which may
require several complex doing-or-undoing-the-makeup-for-the-cameras
scenes)...

RE: the "'Fever' causes aging" premise:
A related idea: a NEW vampire disease that causes vamps to age unnaturally
quickly (this is a fairly standard SF/F plot device; we've seen it in STAR
TREK, STAR TREK: The Next Generation, and Psi-Factor: Tales of the
Paranormal, among others). Nick and Lacroix might be *mildly* affected by
this, or the cure might be found before they age *too* much (aging about
5-10 years beyond their current appearance is probably the max I'd want to
leave them). [Note that I think the "returns to physical state of before
the ultrafast aging" bit is really much TOO cheesy.] The cop side of the
plot might bring in nursing home murders or a suspicious nursing home
death. Flashbacks might include one of our main characters' previous
encounter with a child suffering from progeria and/or one of our vamps'
witnessing the treatment of the elderly and their end-of-life in other
cultures (where the no-longer-able-to-keep-up person is either left behind
when the tribe migrates, or when s/he makes a journey to some sacred burial
ground to die, etc.)... At the end of the story, the murderer is found and
the disease is cured (except for the the bit of aging that went on while
the vamps were afflicted).

Of course, we still have to get past LK...

It doesn't explain it, actually. I'd only gotten a couple of sips into my
coffee. :)

As for LC, I don't know -- but I'm sure I could find a reason if necessary.
After all, look at the way soap writers bring characters back from the dead
no matter how thoroughly they were killed originally. :)
