Hi All <wavies>!!

I knew when I originally went nomail, I'd regret it. But cross-posting can
be a good thing since I'm back to mail due to cross-postings about the
upcoming war <VEG>. Now I have a couple of questions....what exactly is a
Dracpacker? And SKL? Reply either to the list or by private email, I'll
get the answers either way <G>.

On to the question of FK as either a comic book or cartoon.... I'm not sure
about it as a cartoon (does anyone remember the Highlander one <shudder>?)
But I could see Neil Gaiman doing it as a comic or graphic novel. He keeps
things so nice and 'dark' you know...

And I've been meaning to post this little bit to the list for
awhile....everyone does realize that John Kapelos is in the movie of Weird
Science, don't they? I've been meaning to post this since War VI got
underway and kept forgetting.

List-mommy Jamie...I spent almost 1/2 hour getting my sig to meet that
5-lines per rule :) And remember to use the ashtray instead of your coffee
cup next time <G> <running away to hide now>

Happy hunting....

I thought it was from Father's Day, where LC basically agrees to leave him

announces that he has time...

Hey there
Nicks name is French all the way Janette (as it has already been pointed
out) pronaunces it the French way
It is spelt Nicolas but you dont pronaunce the "s"
The French are confusing this way as they do tend to put letters in words
that are not intended to be said out loud
I feel that you breathe the "S" silently and draw out the "A"like Janette
to add that seductive edge!!!

We *all* make the occasional mistakes, from the newest of newbies to the
most venerated of list administrators. The next time we see someone make a
mistake, may I suggest we keep this in mind? As numerous as the mistakes
may *seem* they are actually a very low fraction of the total number of posts.

Rosebud doesn't have a stand-alone mailer. Judging by his graphics-heavy
interface/access to chat rooms in Trophy Girl, he's on UOL (Undead On Line) and
has to use their software to access his e-mail. <vbg>

Quoting from the War rules, as posted by the Warmistress:

>4)The same "permission before posting" rule applies for using other

So yes, you have to ask before you write somebody into your post. This was a
rule last War, too, BTW.

Again, quoting the posted War rules:

So the answer is, the N&NPackers have to ask the Knighties before they move
Nick, and the NatPack before they move Nat. What you *do* in the War is, as
always, entirely up to you, of course. :)

Hope this clarifies, as the Warmistress appears to be too busy to answer.

I'm cc'ing this to her. :)

Hi All,

Your friendly neighborhood ftp site maven here, to announce that for the
time being, the ftp site is back up and running ...

The address again is: ftp.cac.psu.edu and the directory is
pub/people/lms5/fkfiction.

Please be aware however, that in the time the site has been down, I have
been unable to load NEW fiction (that is, fiction from the last 6 weeks or
so) to the site. Please be patient. It will take me a bit of time to get
things loaded, but be assured, I'll be working on it, okay?

In the meantime, if you go over there and find that any story that you
download is doing strange things, like having lines that have no ends or
entire paragraphs that have no formatting, please don't panic. Get in
touch with me, and I'll comb the hard-drive archives and either get a new
version up and running as soon as possible, or reformat what's there,
okay?

And authors, if there's something you wrote that's missing that's from
say, December 1995 through about February 1996 (can you say SOS?), please
let me know and if you can send it to me privately, that would be
dynamite.

Questions? Just holler at me, *privately*, okay?

(I was cracking up during Tanya Bodybldr's "Nat is fat" debacle, when J.F.
posted to scold her. When Janettes Fangs takes you to task for misposting,
you KNOW you done wrong!)

And Cherri, poor Cherri, who with her usual impeccable timing posts a
private e-mail message to the list RIGHT AFTER a rules post... For her, I
feel only sympathy. I mean, it's SUCH bad timing... ya gotta laugh. You
just gotta laugh.

If there is anyone going to the Gerthering at the end of the month who would
like a free copy of the Canadian TV Guide with Celebrity Chef GWD and his
Chocolate Pizza, let me know off-list.

I have, uh, more than a few copies, (OK, it was enough to make the clerk ask
what the heck I was doing), and I will be bringing them with me to the
Gerthering.

If there aren't enough FK-Lers going to the Gerthering who are interested,
I'll offer any left over to the list at large! Or, if there are more
Gerthering listies than TV Guides, it'll be on a first come, first served
basis.

Off-list, please!

After answering my question, Susan Garrett posed this one:
> Trivia question--how often and when does Janette called him "Nick"?

Oh! :-) I just saw "Cherry Blossoms" for the first time, and I started
giggling when she called him "Nick." I couldn't remember her ever doing
that before (in the later episodes which I'm familiar with). Does Janette
just call him "Nick" before they discovered how effectively Deb could say
"Nicola," or did this settle into a pattern explicable within canon?

(I assume any theory would relate to her questioning his name in DK...?)

right for leaving it with arm's length of the TV and labelling it "Forever

Could some kind soul manage to send me BB Pts 1 & 2 on the same tape?
Naturally, I'll pay for the tape and postage.
While I'm at it, I'll add myself to the list of folks asking for 1st
season Canadian eps - same terms.

E-Mail me privately, and forgive the waste of bandwidth.

ObFK - In the epsode with the Enforcers, why didn't Nick just whammy the
reporter into going out for a cup of coffee and tape over the incriminating
footage? (I know - pitiful. But I'm a little upset right now, OK?)

I would also like to add my name to the list. Is there anyone out there
that is doing this? Is it a group effort? Thanks for all!

Why thank you Stephanie for that judgemental assessment of what goes on
when one posts an e-message. Of course you are not accounting for cranky
systems--campus systems are infamous for perverting a message as leaves
"homebase". Perhaps you may see the wisdom of cutting folks a little slack.

Subject: Re: Toronto Trek

I just sent in my pre-registration fee for Saturday at the "Search for
Blood" ... err ... that is "Toronto Trek 10" con. Since I can only
afford to go one day (I'm commuting from Hamilton [FitP]), could someone
please outline the events at the minicon on Saturday? Other than the
Masquerade, there is no Trek event I absolutely HAVE to attend, but I'll
have to leave immediately after (if it's held at the usual time) to get
a GO bus back to Hamilton. If I can; the last one leaves downtown TO at
0030 hrs, and it can take over an hour by TTC to get from the Regal to
the GO Bus terminal. (Of course, if I could crash in some sympathetic
TO fan's garage for the night, this wouldn't be a problem [hint, hint].)

Oh well, if I get stranded I can always take a walking tour of 24 hour
donut shops (and get a FoD's eye view of Toronto). Let's see; 6 hours
to kill before McDonald's opens, 20 minutes loitering allowed in each
shop, another 20 minutes transit time between each one, equals 9 shops.
At $2 (donut and large ice tea) each, that's $18 plus $5 for breakfast
at McDonald's (maybe less if I spend some of the time "browsing" in all
night convenience stores). Still cheaper than a hotel, and doable (I
walked from Scarborough to downtown one night, so I know it's possible).
I could also do the Blueline night tour (the TTC all-night bus service).
With a little planning, I could cut the cost in half, and see the city
as Nick knew - err, that is, KNOWS it.

Anyway, it will be great to see some of you at the minicon. Hey, maybe
we can wear some sort of armband or something to identify us as FORKNI-L
list subscribers (the Intelec Trekkers have done this for years). Too
bad I can't go to the "Special Guest of Honour Party"; I'll miss seeing
Nigel this year.

Does "Nicky" count in this game?

Darned if I remember when exactly that comes into play, but I know it's
somewhere in first season and he's helping her down off the bar. I believe
she's wearing deep red ;)
