She replied to me this past week that apparently those will be *out* as Forever Knight is no longer in production. (Yeah, but what about the Sci Fi Channel rerun airings through 1997?? It's not like the show has disappeared!) I'm not entirely sure where this decision came from, so don't jump to conclusions, please. Here's a direct quote from Erin Murphy: >>If your chatters want to have someone in particular in conference, let me know. Just bear in mind that if the show is no longer in production, it's going to be next to impossible to get them. :/<< A while back, Pat Elrod contacted me about doing a chat/conference in regards to KEEPER OF THE KING, the book she's done with Nigel Bennett. As Pat is not on AOL, it would have to be a conference (where the special guest calls in and someone online ghost types, which is how Ger did his OMNI chat in January). I contacted Erin Murphy immediately, but she says that AOL's Center Stage people who schedule the auditoriums only want best-selling authors. Pat Elrod is VERY well known in her genre (horror fiction) but that doesn't seem to count. This is not totally out of the works, by the way. Erin has been in contact with Pat Elrod and there still might be something happen out of it. She's been trying to get a response back from Pat. I just realized that Ger's Prodigy chat would have taken place after the final filming of "Last Knight" - I think I'll remind Erin of this, that conferences with personnel from shows that are still airing ought to be included. FK may have been cancelled for a fourth season, but heck, I'm still watching it in syndication and on the Sci Fi Channel every week! If anyone is thinking of writing OMNI asking for someone for a conference, you can e-mail Erin Murphy at erinm@a....... but you better be polite and nice, NOT mention my post, and simply say that you hope so and so could do a conference. What struck me immediately was that in most of these eps, the theme of vampirism is of primary concern to the plot. There have been episodes which I liked, but had little or nothing to do with anyone anywhere being a vampire. Most of my favorite episodes have the vampire element as integral to the plot. Actually, now that I think about it, in ALL of these top ten eps, vampires are essential. That's interesting... Under the subject line "A REASON to stay" Sorcha and I made a proposal: We don't need TriStar for a fourth season. Here was the gist of it: It was proposed that we, ourselves, organize a fourth season -- not filmed, of course, but written. It would be planned just like a real season, and a single "show" would be chosen each week (or two) to be discussed on the lists as though it had aired. Sorcha and I volunteered to coordinate this, but under no circumstances do we want to (or do we have time!) to write the whole thing ourselves. At the time, there seemed to be a lot of interest from people, and I'm wondering if that is still the case, now that the time has come to begin planning. So ... if you think this is a good idea -- and particularly if you're interested in writing for the Virtual Season -- please drop a note to this address. Specifics in terms of story direction will of course need to be discussed on the Spoiler List, but I thought this would be a good place to start. They could have just not showed FK at all. untill they start canceling FK alltoghether I don't think we have to be worried. Well if we're serious writers (as I like to consider myself in most cases) then we'll be writers first, faction members second. We'll just imagine that we're writing this *for* FK, as if we're going to have it produced and turned into an actual TV show. If I were to send a script to TPTB, I would be smarter than to let my faction feelings get in the way of professionalism. I think if we all just agree to keep with the theme and the tone of the show as committed writers, rather than as factioners, then we'll be okay. We'll be better than okay, we'll be great! And I promise not to put any hamsters in Nick's pants, okay? ;) Wicked Cousin Tippi, dollar bill wrangler of the Thong Throng! *Founding Member of the Unnamed Faction*Voyeur of the Menage LaCroix* "Ours is a very...special...relationship." - LC to NK, NiQ Wickedness Site! http://www.netcom.com/~tippinb/wicked.html ========================================================================= Date: Sun, 26 May 1996 18:40:26 -0700 From: Peggy Wiltz <pwiltz@i.......> Subject: Re: Nick's Personality (NOT a reply to spoiler) John Soo-Hoo wrote: >Of course, >the question that also needs to be asked as well, is why hadn't Nat, >suggested a relationship without sex? Nick's a sexy guy. What they already *have* is a relationship without sex - Nat, being a smart woman, wants more, IMHO. I think some of you may be in denial a tiny bit. Or else haven't seen the whole first season, which I find hard to believe. The real LaCroix was only in two episodes of the first season (I mean not in flashback), but he "killed" an innocent woman/person, or more than one, in both of those eps. Now, some may argue that Elyse (sp?) wanted to be brought across, but by Nick, not LaCroix, and you know he only did it to irk Nick, anyway. And what about the guard at the museum? Wasn't he innocent, even if not female? And the one that really made me personally hate him was in Love You To Death. Not the ballerina, (yes, I know Nick killed her, but LC tricked him into it -uh-oh, whole 'nother discussion there) because I think some of these delusional Cousins (duck) are convinced that Nick somehow remembers all his flashbacks wrong. No, I mean the girl at the end of the tag, when we discover that LC is still alive after all. He's chewing on her pretty good, blood dripping and all, pretty gory scene. >>see him do it. I think that for most people, if we saw him do it, it would >>be very hard to like LaCroix. It's true, it made it very hard for me to like LaCroix, at the time, although I think the fact that he's mellowed in his old age is great. But not liking *him* doesn't mean I don't like the *character*, if you see what I mean. I think the fact that LC is so evil makes the show that much more fun, and makes him much more fun to watch!
