ROTFL!!

SoB was a wonderful ep.

Back to Strings: I think there are a few memorable scenes. When Nick hears
the subliminal messages in the headphones, watch GWD's face. What an actor. I
liked the whole interaction between Tracy and the captain at corporate crime
division. Seeing Tracy being 'insubordinant' was kinda refreshing.

Back to OTL: Didn't anyone else laugh when Nick teased Tracy about the whole
"Button" thing? I did. Sure this ep isn't four stars, but I laughed at the
casual aspect of the partnership, it possessed shades of Nick's ol' sense of
humor.

Back to TG: Okay, a ripoff of Silence of the Lambs. Still, let us not forget
Rosebud...

That's it. I'll leave now.

I don't think he ever actually said it. I think the above is really
speculation. Soo, to speculate further, there was an episode (MBIAV?) where
Tracy said something to Vachon about how difficult it was to not really
know whether or not you have a relationship with someone. Vachon said, "So
what can you do about it?" Tracy got a little ticked off, and said, "Nothing."
The second time I saw that, I thought, he wants _her_ to make the first move,
and if she does, he'll start trying to talk her into being brought across.
Like I said, just speculation.

For those of you who are somewhat new to the list, let me assure you that
Jamie has the full support of both Jean (Listowner) and myself. I have not
disappeared. I'm still around and I do have list privs, unfortunately, I
don't have time to read the list (the main reason I thank God everyday for
Jamie's undying devotion to the lists!).

If Jamie sets a policy, please follow it. She is doing it in the best
interest of everyone.

Now that the Sun lab has moved across campus, it is more difficult than
ever for Jean to check the lists. Jamie needs all our support. I know how
difficult it is to not only monitor large lists, but to also take care
of bounced mail messages and JAMIE IS DOING FROM A PAY SERVICE!

So, Jamie... mucho kudos!!!

He hasn't so far as I know. What I was trying to say was that that *might*
have been the direction they (TPTB) were going to head in with those two
characters. As things stand now, they haven't appartently moved beyond
friendship (flavored w/a little lust).

Go, girl! :-)

Maybe (and I'm sure it's been said before) Ol' Nickie feeling uncomfortably
close to Screed...they both drink the blood of animals, after all, something
no self-respecting vampire apparently does. BTW, since Nick wasm't born (er,
made) a carouche, does his preference make him a pervert? ;-)

For me, Ger is just a little too clean-cut, and a lot of that shows up in
Nick. I think Nick would *happily* settle down into the mortal routine (if
he didn't immediately kill himself--after all, he's been taking advantage of
the vampire powers for centuries), at which time I think dear Nat might
realize what a mistake she made. :-0

I think he's much better now, with that edge of danger. Of course, that's
why I was a Cousin for so long--let's hear it for dangerous living!

Ah, but that's what I love about him. Nice for a change, nice clean cut
boy-er man!!That's okay, I'll take him!! :)

However, I do tend to agree he would have to make some MAJOR adjustments -
like not running into bullets and jumping from high buildings, etc. and
could very well end up really hurting himself if he doesn't take that into
consideration. He's so used to being immortal - and that kind of mistake is
not a lesson you can learn from really. "Oh, yea- forgot about that-oops!!"

Rewatched False Witness, Cherry Blossoms and I Will Repay last night. Did
anyone ever wonder where all those corks go? The floor must be full of
them. And there must be a drawer filled with corks to cork the bottles
whose corks are on the floor! And who picks them up? (follow that?)

I started out watching the popcorn scene. Then rewound, and, well you know
how that goes. 3 hours later......

Having been brought across the beginning of second season, I still giggle
when I see the vampire outfits that Nick wore in the early first season
eps. Blended right in with Toronto, eh? And, of course, the funny flying
scenes.

But it's always wonderful to visit with Schanke and Janette. What rich
characters. And although I've grown fond of Vachon and Tracy, the depth
just isn't in there.

And the tenderness between N & N. The passion between N & J. Hmmmm.
And, mind you, I could find nice things to say about every 3rd season
episode, too. I know I could. Just give me a minute...

Re: Is Nick a snob?
I agree with Toni, Swordsister, etc. He definitely is well known in the
community as being an elder - a prince of sorts. That makes his quest for
mortality and morality all the more poignant, given his power and status
within the community. (I keep hearing *toys at your age, LaCroix!* - one of
Laurie's wonderful wavs - that has Nick doing his most princely voice)

Gotta go.

I doubt Steve will give you permission to convert his document. The last

All you need is an episode guide. Check out Jasmine's homepage. I don't
recall the addy but a simple net search should find it (and many other FK

Planes don't have to explode when they crash. They can hit and
scrape themselves over a considerable amount of space, and maybe pieces
can even catch fire, but explosions aren't mandatory.

     Nope.

I have a few theories about this. The ones that seem to make the
most sense are: (1) It was in a bag of things found at the site, and
perhaps had been traced back to its owner (location in the crash? DNA
testing? I duuno). (2) Vampires can sense their own pieces, maybe. (3)
It was the correct side (right or left), the right size, and cut off in
the right place. What are the odds that it belonged to somebody else?

You would make an impact equal to the speed of the plane minus the
speed of your jump (allow me the approximation of Newtonian mechanics,
those of you who are hyper-sensitive about this sort of thing). So, if
the plane slammed into the ground at 200 miles per hour, and you jump up
at fifteen miles per hour (since you've been working out and preparing
yourself for this), you would possibly save your life by slamming into
the ground at only 185 miles per hour. (Take heart -- the crater won't
be as deep.)

Who says she didn't know Cohen? She was temporarily assigned to work

It wasn't RHPS. In the movie, Riff Raff was the guy (what IS his
name?-retorical only, no reply needed) who co-wrote the movie (& perhaps
the play) AND who also appeared in Robin Hood as Crum Cruak (sp!).
(Must see the movie again!)

But it was not Nigel. I saw the play when the London company came to
Washington, DC ('82?), so I'll check my programme ("working" right now...)
when I get home to see if NB was there (might solve a personal mystery...
I KNEW I'd seen NB "somewhere" before my intro to FK).

FYI: Came across end of 2nd season, only by way of local station syndication
(repeats). Saw USA's ads for FK, so got cable in November just to see it

Can either of you blessed with the ownership of the FK CD, please give us
the titles and if possible a description of the music/songs on the disc? I
would like to find what the music is like before I commit a purchase.

Vachon seems closer to Urs than Tracy. Tracy appears to be Vachon's
responsibility rather than a love interest. IMHO, Tracy seems to reading
more into the relationship than Vachon. Vachon only shows up when Tracy
calls usually for "street info". In most intances he is there at the
request of Nick to make sure the "bad" vampires don't harm Tracy.

Subject: Re: Liking Third Season

Excellent challenge, Amy! My contributions:

1 "Black Buddha": Vachon! (I'm a Vaquera, what did you expect? Also loved
the way N&N embrace after the explosion.

2 "Black Buddha 2": Tracy's reaction when the music box starts to play;
Nick's "This is too stupid for words but what else am I gonna do"
expression when Vachon has to "hypnotize" him. This was the third ep I ever
saw, and this one set the hook.

3 "Outside the Lines": Was still too much of a newbie to absorb much when I
first saw it; I'm waiting for another rerun so I can tape it.

4 "Blackwing": Natalie--"You still don't tan, you boil." Also, the
seduction scene between Marian and Nick turned me to goo.

5 "Blind Faith": Perry! (I'm almost as obsessed with dogs as with FK. Almost.)

6 "MBIAV": Nat's expressions in the intro as she silently agrees with what
Maggie and the shrink are saying on TV. Every single thing Vachon does.

7 "HoD": Development of Urs's character. I like her much better now.

8 "Trophy Girl": Nat--"One thing's certain, though: she did *not* drown."
Nick & Vachon's discussion in his car--"Pragmatist." Rosebud!

9 "LNMTA": Vachon--"What kind of *friends* do you think I hang around with,
anyway?"

10 "Night in Question": Nick in the hospital, looking less well-groomed
than usual but infinitely more appealing--tousled hair, gorgeous arms, "Am
I in trouble?"

11 "Sons of Belial": Nick's expression when he clasps LC's hand and begs
for help. He looks so little-boy pathetic, I almost can't bear it
(apparently, neither can LC); LC's obvious discomfort when he must admit he
can't help with the exorcism (how often does he have to say "I cannot?").

12 "Strings": The actress who plays Christy--convincing in her portrayal of
brainwashing and one of the few actors who seems to be able to produce real
tears on demand (not easy to do--try it!).

13 "Fever": That *look* on Nick's face as he walks into Vachon's sickroom
with the cure in his pocket (particularly when Tracy rushes out). Vachon
offering his wrist to Screed with nary a blink.

On to the spoiler list for the later eps...

Stockholm syndrome, battered woman's syndrome, battered/abused child
syndrom. People with any/all of these would (and have) argue in defense of
someone who wronged them. (Sooo, it's still possible for Janette to defend
LC even if he had oppressed her.)

No doubt age and power have much to do with this -- considering how
young most of the denizens of the Raven are, relatively speaking -- but I
can't help thinking that the Raven scene in SoB gives some insight into Nick
and LC's standing in the Community.
When LC breaks in on Nick and the female vamp, he informs her that
she will say nothing of this, if she knows what's good for her. He seems to
be, oddly enough, protecting Nick's reputation. And he does it on the
strength of implication. More than anything else, that scene depicts, to
me, LC's status in the Community, and the general acknowledgement of Nick as
crown prince, whatever Nick himself might think of that.

Actually, this Knightie finds that explanation rather appealing, when
added to her own theory of resentment over Ralegh. <g>
And Nick would hate that envy in himself. He can be extremely
arrogant, and the idea that a social derelict like Screed has so easily
something he wants so badly...
     All subconscious, of course. <g>
