When Nick's search for a cure is discussed, there is often a comment on how easily he becomes discouraged, that he doesn't have the patience for a long term attempt. I haven't seen the first season at all, but in the second and third season episodes I have seen, I can only remember two attempts he's made. One was with Hans and his electrical treatments and the other was with some "doctor" who, I think, was trying to drain all the vampiric blood out of him. In both these cases, his attempts were interrupted by events outside his control. I'm sure he's eager for a cure. He takes incredible risks. I'm sure he'd love an "instant cure". Who wouldn't? But particularly with Hans (the other guy was basically killing him and Nick needed to be rescued, as I recall), if tragedy hadn't interrupted, can we be sure how long he would have hung on, trying to...what, "galvanize" himself back to life? Are there other episodes I haven't seen that show his inablity to stick with a cure attempt? I know he is impatient at times with how slowly things are going with Nat, but expressing impatience doesn't mean he's going to quit.
