If it were pheremones then wouldn't Tracy find herself inexplicable
attracted to her partner? (Icky Pooh!) Now there is a mismatch.

I flipped channels just in time to see a wonderfully battered, bloody
and vunerable Nigel Bennett playing a big lug in an interrogation room
in Soft Deceit. He's in the first half of the movie, and although it's a
cheesy SS clone, with no vampires, there is a tasty bit of blood sucking.
(He pretends to drink a Mountain Dew.... and we thought Ribena was bogus.)
The FK Vietnamese Vampire (Von Flores?) from "Can't Run, Can't

Did you ever see the Animanics where they start bugging this vampire and
they drive him crazy that all of a sudden the top of his head completely
explodes into color volcanic eruptions, with thunderous sound effects and
bulging eyes? Well, that was my reaction when I first read that line - my
children are not scattered throughout the house in various rooms, cowering
in closets and under beds. But I' calm now, no reason to get upset. What is
that sound you hear behind you, Propsguy? Maybe there's no one there, but

And let's not forget that the people who came here in 1620 HAD been
enjoying religious freedom in Holland. A big part of why they came here
was because they realized that their children were growing up
speaking Dutch, and they, in spite of their problems with England
still considered themselves Englishmen.

UM....and Holland is one of the LOw Countires and so is Belgium and
Brabant is in Belgium and Nick's from Brabant does that make this on topic?

NO?

I'd have to agree with those who say that Nick is a lapsed Catholic.
That's not to say that he hasn't been, or isn't something else
now...I DO think that one's childhood religion stays with one in
certain ways (many of them more cultural than religious) Nick's ideas
on damnation, salvation and redeption seem to me clearly tied to his
early religious training.

Is that better?

Subject: Nick's Views

Let me clarify something and I think that might straighten things up:
I grew up conservative Southern Baptist. I was indoctrinated "socialized"
as I mentioned before, into believing I was a terrible, evil person because
I sinned. I developed a guilt complex that makes Nick look like he doesn't
have a conscience.
I had to question why God would create me since I am so absolutely horrible and
terrible. I had to be a mistake.
But then, God doesn't make mistakes.
Well, then, there is no God because if there were, he wouldn't have made me
knowing how horrible I was.
Prolonged agnostic period in my life followed.
Then, things happened to me--miracles--is what I call them. By all practical
purposes, I should be dead.
These things resurrected my dead faith.
I restructured my faith, however, redefining God has I had come to know him and
understanding Jesus through my eyes instead of my parents eyes.
Now, I am a Christian, and I go to the Baptist church, but I hesitate to call
myself Baptist because I have different theological views than some held by
the church.
ive, etc.
He has had infinitely more time to go through this process than I have; however,
we do not spiritually grow at the same pace.
I see Nick in this agnostic turmoil (Angst--agnostic--same root word) now.
He is restructuring his beliefs, or trying to, in light of his old
"socialization".
Is he, then, a fallen away Catholic? Am I a fallen away Baptist? I don't call
myself or think of myself as such.
You can call me that, however. You can call me anything you'd like, actually.

I hope Nick will grow as I have, which I played out in my FKFIC, because there
it light for him if he so choses.

Subject: Songs to Think of Nick & Nat (long)

Ah, yes the eternal romantic I am. But I am cleaning my house right now and
listening to the "EFX" soundtrack (Michael "Phantom" Crawford" phenominal
(sp) show in Las Vegas where he portrays a myriad of characters through
time). One of the sequences involves Houdini and his wife. Houdini aparently
promised her that if he died he would be the first to come back from the
other side and there is a duet between them where he has apparently
accomplished this (if only in her mind). But, as I was listening to this,
it suddenly occurred to me how Nick and Natish it was. I pictured it after
"NiQ" after they had a night of "normal" affection for each other. What do
you think? It's called "Tonite"

NICK:

Don't be sad for me
Everything is how it had to be
Don't be angry just be the way you were tonight

Don't ask why or how
Don't ask more of me than I am now
Can't we just be the way we always were tonight

Don't be afraid
Don't be surprised
I know with me you never could believe your eyes
But I've come back -I swear it's true
I can't escape this need to be with you
To keep you safe
- and I would die again for more than just tonight

NAT:

Love won't make it right
Love won't hold me when it's late at night
I know you'll go and I'll be left alone tonight

Don't you know I can't let you go
Say there's no goodbye for us
Someday someway we'll be the way we are tonight

TOGETHER:

Don't you cry for us
Can't you see there's no goodbye for us
Someday someway we'll be the way we are tonight

I know, I know - gag me it's so romantic and sweet. But, there's room for
silly romance isn't there??

The story behind SyndiCon East in Baltimore is that Adrian Paul was unable
to attend, and it turns out that Nigel Bennett is going to be able to take
his place.

Also, for the HL cross-over fans, a piece of info that was not on the flyer
that Annmarie posted is that Jim Byrnes' blues band will be playing. The
vote has made his concert into a dance party, although there will be chairs
for those who do not wish to dance.

For complete information you can email SyndiCon@a......., and specify that
you are inquiring about the Baltimore event.

that time. After the second kiss on the Spirit Walk she left blood from her
killing of the lawyer on Nick's hands. It had already been done at that
point but she made the poor man/vampire think that he was the one responsible
for it.

Also, at the end she said that she thought
that her grandfather wanted revenge but Nick tells her it was because of his
darkness. I don't think she would have associated it with her grandfather if
those feelings hadn't started fairly quickly after she had witnessed his (BWs)
death on the Spirit Walk. She would more likely have associated them with
Nick as a response to her asking him for help.

Prodigy newbie here, trying to help out other Prodigy newbies who plan on
attending Ger's Prodigy chat tonight.

Place/Time: Pseudo chat area, Hot Seat Auditorium, 8pm Eastern time

To get to Pseudo chat:

  Jump to: PSEUDO

If you've never been to this area before, you might need to register for
it since it's a "grown-up" place and Prodigy tries to protect its younger
members from grown-ups <g>. I can't really recall what I clicked on to
register -- it might have been something like "PSEUDO ONLINE" or "BEGIN
PSEUDO CHAT".

Once you have registered, there will be a full list of items to choose
from on the right-hand side of your screen. Go through the four things
at the bottom -- Access Control, Setup Options, Your Profile, and Change
Nickname -- to give yourself a chat "nickname" and set options for
instant messages and such. I'd recommend under Setup Options choosing
"medium display" since the large display was so big it fell off my screen.

Then you're ready to go into the room. On the right-hand top of the
screen, choose Begin Pseudo Chat. Choose the Hot Seat Auditorium and
move the room type option to Auditorium. You should see Geraint Wyn
Davies in the list -- choose that and then click on Enter Room.

The room is open *now*, and has been since 9am Eastern, so you can go and
submit a few questions. (They only accept 125 and apparently ask them in
the order they are submitted, so be nice and only submit 1 or 2 so that
others have a chance.) It's probably a good idea to go there sometime
today just to make sure you know how to get there.

Sorry to waste bandwidth for everyone who's not going to the chat -- as
penance, I promise to try to keep a log of the chat and share it with
those who want it. <g>

I watched "Fever" again last night, and my impression has always been
that Tracy was flustered but pleased that Vachon was noticing her scent
until he started talking about it being her blood's scent, and getting
into details as he was brushing her neck. She seemed very uncomfortable
with that but I don't know if it was because of the vampire or because
only a few hours before she had heard Screed talking the same way as he
considered her for dinner. When she relaxed as Vachon bared her neck and
his fangs, I thought it was more the reaction victims seem to have in FK
and in vampire legends. Sort of a mesmerization of the victim to prevent
a struggle while feeding.

Just my impression.

I guess I should have posted this to the list. ;-)

No, KTLA-TV no longer shows anything of real interest--they
kept preempting such things for Action Pack and sports.

Forever Knight is available on exactly one local channel in
the L.A. area (and one in San Diego [Channel 6, but I don't
remember what time] [in San Diego, that is]). That channel,
which we should all support (because the programming
department actually has some FK fans!) is KCBS, channel 2.
They show Highlander on Saturday night at 11:35, immediately
followed (at 12:35 a.m. Sunday morning) by Forever Knight.
AND, they don't seem to cut it, at least not as much as USA
did!

Alora and came back to my message like a new message. Since it is
concerning FK shirts <:))))?> I hope it is ok to repost it here?? Just
trying to make sure I fulfill my responsibilities as parent of an adult
Knightie & N&Npacker. Thanks!!

I really appreciated the *idea* of Amanda Cohen, but I'm afraid the
actress never impressed me the way Blu Mankuma has. I think that Reese
may be the best thing in season three.

If I remember correctly, we saw a picture of her family in several
episodes, most conspicuously in AMPH, and, I think, in "Father Figure,"
but I don't recall if the photos were just of kids, or if they included
her husband, too.

Aack! I just responded to Idalia's question about pictures of Cohen's
family, and, obviously, they're NOT in "Father Figure." Sheesh; I don't know
where my brain is today. I meant "Amateur Night," of course. Sorry; I'm
not sure how I managed to mix those two up...

There are two big problems with posting a chat log to the list or putting
it on a web site:

 (1) It's probably copyrighted
 (2) It's gonna be looooooooong

But after the chat, if one of us has been successful making a log, we'll
post a message offering to e-mail it to people who want it. Hopefully
that won't cause copyright problems. (This type of arrangement has worked
for others with chats on other services.) But wait & see if anyone on the
list is successful in making a log of the chat before posting requests.

(1) He's just the right age.
(2) He's married. (All the *good* ones are taken!)

Before anyone gets on her case, I am sure Polly knows that Nigel is going to
be at Syndicon, not "Uncle". But, like a lot of us I think it's because we
know "Uncle" so we feel more comfortable saying the character than to take
the liberty of saying Nigel when we don't really know him. Actually, I
shouldn't talk for anyone else, imho that is.

Okay, I've managed to convert my boyfriend to FK recently, but I didn't
realize it had affected him much until I picked him up the other day when
he dropped his car off for repairs...
I've just gotten a new license plate, and happened to get one with the
letters KNV on it. As we were walking to my car, he freezes and points
at the plate, "Look! KNightie Valor!" he proclaimed proudly, knowing me
to be a Knightie.
See everyone at Shrewthering!

Does it really matter? After all, Uncle is a term of endearment, whether
applied to Nigel or LaCroix.

Subject: FK Wishing Crane Project-- update 4/18

Thought you all would like an update on the FK Wishing Crane Project:

We are almost ready to mail our first two origami crane mobiles. They are
going to two of the Sony head-honchos in New York.

And, we are still collecting for a *third* mobile -- we are halfway there
all ready folks! So, keep folding while you wish for a fourth season!

Check out the FK Wishing Crane Project webpage
<http://www.execpc.com/~echelbar/fkcranes.html> if you need more information
on what we're doing and why. Or, if you're web-impaired, *private* e-mail
me at <callalily@l.......>.

BTW, we have the shipping costs covered for the mobiles, but thanks for
asking. If you want to donate to the SOS-FK cause, I believe we still have
costs to cover for the NATPE bags and the Electronic Media ad (and of course
there is always the Pediatric Aids Foundation).

Subject: New biography of Bram Stoker

The Boston Globe reviewed the new bio of Bram Stoker by Barbara Belford,
calling it interesting but not fully informative. Snippet: "...Stoker
encouraged Irving [his theater manager] to drain the life blood out of him
duirng 27 years of devotion...[Belford] makes the connection between
exploitation and vampire bloodsucking but she never makes the connection
convincing. She offers no psychological explanation for Stoker's....
obsession with the sinister and supernatural. And she makes no attempt to
explain how and why he created the most lasting and lurid vision of the
vampire ever written."
I will privately send the full review (it's not long) to anyone who asks.

I agree - I think Count Dracula would leave the country after running into
Uncle.

Naw, I don't think so, I don't think it matters at all, but it does matter
to some so I thought I'd stem the tide before we had a bunch of notes about
it. As far as running from the Cousins - well ya never know how THEY'RE
gonna react to anything - they're so fickle!!

Ducking, but not running - Knighties do not run!!! They retreat with honor!!

I think when you actually see Nigel in person, you will understand the
difference! NO ONE could mistake him for Lacroix, not seriously; heck, he
doesn't even LOOK much like Lacroix, really--too much color in his
cheeks, too often a big grin on his face, too casual yet stylish in his
dress, and the Dragon's Breath (tm) voice only comes through when he's
making a point. And he's a really nice guy, something I'd *never* say
about Uncle {shudder}.

Anyone who gets a chance to see Nigel Bennett in person, jump at it!
You'll never regret spending the money for the con.

Cheers!
