As far as I can tell, having seen the actual
construction site last saturday, there is no water
tower on the site, last year, it was off the building
in the yard. But I fear they have hauled it away for
good.

The water tower is still shown in the artist concept
drawings on their website, if you want to check out
floor plans and such. I find $311,000 a bit pricey
considering the small floorplans and the actual
neighborhood where the warehouse is located. The
neighborhood is a little misleading though as Queen
street is a couple of blocks away and Eastern and
Broadview is rather dumpy looking by comparison.

Have been doing a little web cleaning and found the 3rd season story bible
notes from FK. Realized that many people haven't seen them, so I put them
up and put a link on my main page.

As far as I can determine, the Natpackers are not playing this war. The last
time I talked to the N&Npackers, as far as they could determine, the Natpack
wasn't playing.

I issued the invite-thingee for the Natpack to play with the RATpack but keep
their Natpack identity. I had one person contact me, now can remember who it
was <g>

The date is almost here to turn in permission slips, so I'd like to request
that any Natpackers who want to play with the RATpack (but I stress as
Natpackers - it is a comedy thing, believe me), contact me ASAP to give me
their permission slips.

I know at least one is playing with the N&Npack and has turned in her
permission ship already.

Libs, was considering it, but just don't have the time, especially with the
holidays coming up, and we're redecorating several rooms. All my free time
is spent trying to finish EC. Maybe next time.

My suggestion relates to the fact that when the Perks didn't play in
one of the previous wars, the Dark Perks were given control of Tracy
(as the oldest already established faction of that character who
was going to play in that long-ago war).

If the Natpackers aren't going to be playing in this war, my suggestion
is that the N&Npackers be given control of the Nat character for
this war and any subsequent wars in which the Natpackers don't choose
to play.

I've been reading the stories recommended by Nancy Kaminski and others,
and found most of them without trouble. But I'm looking for Dorothy

indeed "Fabuloso!" as Nancy put it). Anyone know where the third one
can be found?

So far, it will be just me and Anna (I think?) coming along, but anyone

I've never really paid much attention to any faction
slants in the fic, although being an NNPacker, there's
a bit of a preference there. I'm happy as long as the
other usual labels are included, (IE
pairings,(although FK fics tend not to have the really
really wierd parings of some Buffy fic, I'll venture
to say)death warnings, explicit stuff, slash)as that's
how I usually pick what to read. I never even realized
there were faction labels to tell the truth lol.

According to various newspaper stories, the water tower has been removed
during construction but will again adorn the top of the building once
construction is finished. It's been taken away for "safekeeping" in the
meantime.

I'm also new this week and I'll take a moment to
introduce myself. I'm LJ, I'm a grad student, and I've
been writing fanfic since at least 1999, FK fanfic for
about a year. I came to FK through HL, which I came to
through BTVS. Since those fandoms are nowadays very
active on Yahoo!Groups and livejournal, I assumed
those would be the best places for FK these days, too,
and didn't take a chance on ForKni-L until last week.
As you can imagine, I've been whacking my head against
the wall this week now that I know how active the list
still is!

I'll read just about anything to try it, but my faves
are Nick/Nat of almost any flavor.

I've written a lot of fanfic, mostly in other fandoms,
but I do have a few FK to offer you, found here:
http://www.geocities.com/brigidharper/ljfic03.html .
In brief, the AU series rewrites all the "modern day"
aspects of the show (warning: WIP, but there are
completed stories in the series); "Ever the
Policeman's Daughter" is an LK fix that centers on
Tracy (warning: WIP); and "Early November Evening" is
probably the only FK/Tru Calling crossover in
existence. I'm currently working on another LK fix
that focuses on Nick and Nat; I've been posting
tidbits to my livejournal:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/ljs_lj/ .

I'm looking forward to getting to know the (very much
alive!) list!

Subject: FK moment

Today, our chorale performed at my professor's methodist church, and
part of the service is a "children's moment" with a little fable and
lesson for the small kids. This weekend, probably because of the bad
weather, there were only two small kids who came up for the children's
moment, and the first question asked to get the ball rolling was "What
are you going to dress up as for Halloween?"

The two kids, one girl and one boy answered as such:

"A Doctor" (girl)
"I'm gonna be a Vampire" (boy)

I was grinning for the next ten minutes.

I agree with Sue.
I've survived (and enjoyed <gr>) reading more than a few stories that
didn't end up in my "N&N" folder, although, as anyone who's read my own
writings knows, I am a dedicated N&Npacker. (I may put them through a lot,
but they end up together in the end.)

I think that, generally speaking, warnings should be up to the author - I
have occasionally "set the stage," so to speak, by pointing out that I'm
using a Season 1 or Season 3 LaCroix (very different characters), or that
I'm doing a "Season 3 never happened" universe.

The one exception is slash. I do hope to have advance warning of the
presence of explicit slash in an adult story. It won't necessarily keep me
from reading it, but I ask to be forewarned.
