Thankyou for your kind words. I would love to read new stories. Let me know

kinda refreshing to see something different this time.

I checked out some of the card designs and couldn't
find any that looked like the cards Nick was holding.
Are you sure this is the right deck?

Grumble, grumble, stupid AOL, grumble, grumble.

AOL cut off my post late last night, or perhaps I went on too long. Here's
the rest of it, starting where it left off:

>>> "Constructive criticism" can be very helpful and if Sony is actually
listening perhaps they will do better with the other seasons or perhaps they
don't care either way. <<<

They aren't, they most likely won't, and they don't.

I'd like to think that the work myself and others (Susan, Janet, etc., as
listed in Janet's post earlier) put in with KtK helped to get FK released on
DVD, but in truth I don't believe it did because I don't believe Sony listens
or cares. (FWIW, I do think our work helped in returning FK to SFC once or
twice.) I think FK was released on DVD because Sony was going through its
library of TV titles, looking at the hard numbers, and making the decision to
try releasing some on DVD. I think a large part of this was that 2003 was a
huge, *HUGE* year for TV shows on DVD (information I got from a home video
trade magazine). They saw other companies making big bucks on TV series, so
they picked some titles they thought might do well. THAT'S why we have FK on
DVD. And guess what...if the numbers don't support releasing the other two
seasons, they aren't going to release the other two seasons no matter what we
do. And THAT'S why expressing opinions in the form of complaints and negative
reviews is so dangerous, and why people are upset about these opinions being
expressed in public places like Amazon.com. Expressing opinions on this List
is maybe not so bad, because most of us are die hard fans who are going to buy
the DVDs either way, but more casual fans are going to shy away if they see bad
reviews on Amazon.

Personally, I'm not complaining about the FK DVDs publicly or privately. I'm
happy wiaps they don't care either way. <<<

happy with them. They're certainly better quality than VHS, take up a lot
less shelf space, and they are less likely to degrade than VHS.

Sheesh. Sorry everybody...clearly having posting problems here. My original
post late last night was cut in half, I tried to post the second half just
now when I noticed the problem, and now my second half post is all screwed
up...it gets almost to the very end then starts over again with the beginning
of the second half. So, if you're so inclined, read the beginning of my second
post up to where it says "I'm happy wi" and then skip all the way to the very
end where it says "I'm happy with them."

Sincere apologies,

Becky

Subject: FK dvd advertising

Going along with what people have been saying about sony not
promoting the dvds except during the FK marathon... I found something
interesting.
I just bought the Underworld dvd and on the case insert there is an
ad -
"Check out these other great thrillers on dvd" It has six dvds and
FK is there with a photo of the case and everything. It is very
visible when you open the case - the scene listing is on the back of
this sheet.
So maybe... people who liked Underworld will buy the dvd and then see
the ad, and go buy FK.

You know, it's been a long time since I saw that footage, but I could have
sworn it was the old Rider Waite deck that was reprinted in the sixties and that so
many of us, including me, used when we were learning to do tarot readings.

It's not stupid at all! Most of us haven't seen the Canadian footage, which is
also on the DVD, in which Nick is sitting in his loft during the day. He's
lying around angsting and fiddling with a tarot deck. Snippets were used again
in other Canadian versions. Canada had stricter regulations than the U.S. (or
maybe more civilized? <g>) about the amount of air time that could be devoted to
commercials so their shows in the first season were longer.
