when you just giggle at an abcnews web story:

http://abcnews.go.com/wire/World/reuters20021223_237.html

about a country whose people are accusing their governement of
conspiring with vampires. And thinking that WE wouldn't be
hysterically AGAINST the idea. <g>

Hmm, then again, I can see LC making that deal with their
government and Nick trying to quell the violence ...

-I went to the movies the other night and one of the coming
attractions had a character named Stacy Vetter in it.
-I was watching a tape of an episode of Law & Order from a few
weeks ago and there was a scene with Lt. Van Buren fighting with
a soda machine that was reminiscent of Captain Reese's fights
with the water cooler.
-A few weeks ago I drove past a restaurant called the Caffe
Pompei, and I couldn't help wondering what LaCroix would think of
that.
-That same night, I heard someone mention a "corpse" that was
found to be breathing in the morgue.

Subject: a story with Jeannie from DK?

For a little while now, I've been unsuccessfully trying to locate a
specific story starring Jeannie, the girl on the streets in "Dark
Knight." It's set a bit after DK, and opens in the precinct, as I
recall. Jeannie is thanking Nick, and moving on toward a new life. I
cannot remember the author or title, though I remember writing to the
author when I first read it. It's a fairly short piece -- probably dropped
in two parts? -- and, I think, a few years old -- say, 1997-2000. Do you
recall this piece? The name of the author, or where I can find it?

I'd love to read this excellent piece again, and I would also very much
like to get in touch with the author. If you do know, please write or copy
me off list (I'm presently no-mail on forkni).

Thank you very much,
Amy

The story is by Kathy Whelton. It's called Just Passing Through. It should
be on the main achrive or on Nancy Kaminski's fiction page. JudyL

This lovely little story is by Kathy Whelton, and is called, "Just Passing
Through." It is archived on my website, www.nancykam.com. Follow the links
to the fan fiction page, and then to Kathy's stories.

Merry Christmas, all!
