Subject: Ger's appearance in The Wild Dogs

The International Film Festival is going full blast in Toronto this
week. One of the films which premiered tonight was The Wild Dogs, a film
directed and acted in by Canadian Thom Fitzgerald. Ger has a short part
in this film, playing in his own words "a sleazy dot com porn king".

The title of the Wild Dogs comes from the thousands of feral dogs that
roam the streets of Bucharest.

The premise of the film seems simple: Ger's character, the porn king
sends his world-weary photographer Geordie (played by Fitzgerald) to
post-Communist Bucharest, in search of fresh, er, "faces" for his porn
website. But other than a few bare breasts and a sex scene which is
amusing rather than titillating, the movie is really not about porn, but
about exploitation in  general. Men exploit women, adults exploit
children, the able-bodied exploit the disabled, the Romanians exploit
the gypsies, the wealthy exploit the poor. It's also about those who are
poor, lame, or Romanian who are just trying to make a life and a place
for themselves. For those who try to break the cycle of exploitation,
sometimes there are little successes, more often there are failures.
It's a thoughtful, and somewhat disturbing film.

Ger is in only three scenes in the movie. For those of you who have
attended Gertherings are are aware of the tradition of the "cuss/lust"
bucket, lets just say that his language in the movie rates a 55-gallon
drum for his cuss bucket. <g>

At the post-film Q&A, the Director indicated that the film was due to be
distributed in Canada in Feb, 2003. An American distributor has not been
signed up as of yet.

I have a series with Schanke as a werewolf.  One of the stories was in response
to a Full Moon/Friday the 13th challenge.  It was pretty silly.  They can be
