Subject: FK parody of Highlander?

Saw _Hunted_ today (the second season one, in case I've mixed up those similarly
named episodes yet again). Am I crazy or is there a deliberate parody of
_Highlander_ here? Nick and the Hunter (Gwyneth Walsh) face each other and
Nick says, as Duncan has repeated so many times before him and just as
futilely: "It doesn't have to be this way!" Walsh's character replies that it
does, that she must win and he must die. Up to this point, I would chalk up
the verbal similarity to coincidence, or lack of originality on the part of
writers. But then she shoots Nick with her little garlic bullets and he
somersaults over a railing, thus evoking the famous Highlander mid-air, sword-
in-hand forward roll that began every episode--the one that was an out-take from
"Turnabout" in which Wyn Davies guest-starred. It is my belief that somebody
was having fun here. What do you think?
