Wow, this is a difficult question, especially with pinning a particular
person down.

although, now that I think about it, it would be kind of funny if he chose
Lorelei Gilmore from the Gilmore Girls, she's very pretty, and so perky . .
. funniness would ensue. . .

but seriously, if he's worked through his greif about Nick he'd probably not
look for that kind of relationship again
--although, with LaCroix, you never know, he gets sentimental at the
strangest times -- maybe a female. . . Oh, there's the girl from Farscape,
Erin Sun (sp?) . . . how about Paige from Charmed . . . that would be
interesting . . . alright, well, that's what I thought, anyways. . .

Lol...Well, interesting for a start as Aeryn is a
Sebacian Peacekeeper--she only LOOKS human, her
biology is radically different. (Though from her
relationship with John it's obvious she's not entirely
incompatible with humans!) That might be an
interesting experiment for LaCroix--after all, he's
tried humans...

Not to mention that someone caused Nat to forget what happened at Azure.
Since Nick hadn't ever successfully hypnotized her, I've always assumed that
LaCroix id it. Or maybe, her earlier reaction to LaCroix was strong enough
to blank her memory?

What about Miss Parker from pretender....she is jaded, and the verbal banter
and sarcasm alone would be worth watching. In a way the fact they were both
betrayed by people they thought they could trust would be something that would
put them on common ground yet it would also be a major bone of contention ,
because they sure as heck would never trust each other...or would it be case
case of being the only ones they could trust? Just my two cents , and for me the
dialouge between the two could be so ..full of sarcasm , something they are both
good at. It would have a certain <bite> to it.

And another vote for Miss P! I can't imagine a better choice. Her talent as
a hunter, along with the aforementioned sarcasm and smarts, would seem to me
to make her the ideal female companion for Uncle, IMHO. An interesting
change from Janette, a lady of a different kind of strength.

Altho if crossing over takes a little humanity away, I fear for the rest of
us when Miss P crosses over. What little that lady has left she keeps in a
small pine box. Oh, but the fanfic possibilities! (Now, Mad Jan, repeat
after me. No new fanfic. No new fanfic...)

I'd like to see Grissom, from CSI. That kind of quiet, focused steadiness might
be quite a welcome relief for LC after Nick's mood swings. And Grissom would
appreciate having his hearing restored, now that he's going deaf.

The idea of a bug-studying vampire is, well, charming. And just think how much
he and Nat would have in common!

(Actually, every time I watch CSI I can't help thinking that Ger would do a good
job in Grissom's role.)

Honestly, I never thought for a minute that Spark 'whammied' Natalie.
I've always firmly believed that she was faking it, trying to buy herself
a little time.

And Barb wrote: <snip> Not to mention that someone caused Nat to forget

Again, I never believed that she'd forgotten. Maybe for a short time,
but even that is iffy. I think she knew that she had to play along and
at least make Nick think she'd forgotten, but I truly believe that she
either A: remembered the whole incident and deemed it wiser to play
along, or B: Really *was* drugged by LC and, therefore, it made it easier
for Nick to make her forget for a short period of time. When she finally
did remember, she knew that she mustn't say anything, and kept it to
herself. I think that would explain the differences in Nat's behavior
towards and around Nick in the latter part of the second season, and in
the third season, compared with the easy comaraderie they shared in the
first season and first part of the second season.
Just my own personal beliefs. :-)

Do you think LC would let anyone call his new boy "Renfield?" Never! Besides,
Gris doesn't *eat* the bugs, he just studies them--a difference that no doubt is
*very* important to LC.

About my referring to vampireGris as Renfield, Nancy Kaminski sed:

*If* he hears about it. Any vamp who's dumb enough to call Gris Renfield in LC's
hearing isn't going to last very long anyway, imo.

>Besides, Gris doesn't *eat* the bugs, he just studies them--a difference that
>no doubt is *very* important to LC.

True, but the connection is still there. A vamp who likes bugs, what else would
you call him?

Buggs.... Hmmm, now there's a thought. What about Jordan from Crossing Jordan as
LC's new pet, I mean, protege? Or better yet, Lily. :-)

Subject: LaCroix' teaching

<<Maybe it is not so much that Nick can't hynotize a resister but that
unlike LaCroix he backs off from forcing the resister to completely
surrender his will to him, which is what he would have to do be
successful.>>

Nick doesn't have a problem with using hypnotism. I've seen him do it
plenty in his cases. The criminals, unsuspecting cops, etc., he doesn't
have a problem using hypnotis, it's just the stronger-willed ladies.

<< In short there may be a point which Nick chooses not to cross but
which LaCroix has no qualms about crossing. After all Nick knows first
hand what is like to be on the receiving end. He knows what it is
like to be dominated by someone, namely LaCroix.>>

LC was a Roman general, domination was all he knew. Nick was a
crusader, and I think he was probably a foot soldier, I use that term
loosely, because I don't know the ranks of the Crusaders. Taking orders
came easy for him. It was probably very natural for LC to be in charge,
and Nick to be the follower.

<< Since we know when push comes to shove, Nick can stand up to LaCroix
and win, we have to assume Nick could be a very powerful vampire if he
chose to be.>>

When, exactly, did Nick stand up to LC and win? I've never assumed Nick
was weak, he's got the blood of LC running through his veins. He could
have never survived as long as he has and be weak.
Plus, LC loves him, and has protected him, and will continue to protect
him.

<< That also might explain some of LaCroix's exasperation with his
son.>>

LC is just an indulgent father. :-)

Ohhhh! Good one!!! I never even thought of her, but that's one I'd watch

controling her than he had with Nick! She's kinda used to being the one
giving orders.)

Finally, someone points out that LC had been giving orders for longer than
people think . . . you know, as for LC being an indulgent father, I think
with Nick that shows through even more. . .I think someone else mentioned
this but I don't think LC had any biological --as in someone having his
child kind of biological -- sons. And, up until recently, it's always been
important for a guy to produce a male. Society can be like that. I like to
view it as Nick is the son that LaCroix never had, and that's why he
sometimes lets nick get away with a little more, and why he indulges nick in
this whole trying to be human thing . . . as for him telling nick to embrace
what he is . . . LC isn't ashamed of what he is and he just feels that he is
doing the right thing for nick by trying to get him to feel the same way
about what he is . . . anyways, got off on a tangent, but have been dying to
say all that for like ever. . .okay . . .later
