Spotted at the Marriot in Singapore:
Wedding Dinner - Nigel Bennett and Chan Mei Lin

That can't be...can it? I couldn't check as I was on duty at another event
in the hotel.

I sincerely doubt it (although of course I have no way of knowing for sure).
Surprisingly enough, 'Nigel Bennett' is a fairly common name--just do a
Google search for it and see how many Nigel Bennetts you come up with who
aren't 'our' Nigel.

Hey, would that be great exposure though? Maybe he'd mention it casually to
George Lucas over lunch one day... "George, there was this great show I was
on once called Forever Knight, and there still seems to be a lot of fans out
there - maybe you should buy the rights and make more." ....Nah, then we'd
have Jar-Jar carouches.

BITE YOUR TONGUE, Red! That is just *too* scary... a
Jar-jar carouche running around our lovely FK world.

Of course, Screed would have no trouble understanding
him. :-)

{innocent look} You mean Screed-speak and Jar-Jar-speak are different? ;-)

Well, busybody me called hotel banquet people today - hotel contact
described the Nigel Bennett of the wedding dinner as "40-ish American man".
Can't be 'our' Nigel.

Naah... that's just a typical War story -- or a typical NA War-Universe story.

Being a typical NA, that's probably why it stuck in my brain in the first

Does anyone have a current email address for FK fanfic author Valerie
(Meachum) Kessler? The last address I have for her --
valerie@w....... -- now bounces, and I wanted to write her about her
OtLonely-flashback-era story "Icebreaking."

Please respond _off-list_. (I'm a month behind on list digests . . .)

Thank you very much!

Does anyone else read Mother Goose and Grimm in the comics? For anyone
who didn't, it explains why there are no vampire cowboys. My first
thought upon reading it was "Gee, good thing no one ever told Nick." Or
LaCroix, for that matter. ;-)

This is my absolute favorite cartoon strip! Unfortunately the local
paper where I now live doesn't carry it, but you can read the strips on
the web at http://www.grimmy.com/ Mike Peters, the cartoonist, also
does political cartoons. He's done vampire themed Grimmy strips in the
past, and they are always great. I can picture Lacroix reading them
with some amusement over dinner.

Have fun!
