To the Fans of Forever Knight:

How many of you are lacking FK tapes or the ones you do have could use some
improvements? How many of you would love to see *extra* footage and goodies
of the Knight? I'm sure that is a yes for everyone. Well, then here's let's
get FK on DVD!

Columbia Tristar's DVD feedback address is the way and they do respond to
the e-mails. They do *read* these e-mails. The addition of a particular
series are forwarded to the appropriate department for review. *If*
sufficient interest can be found to add a new series, their marketing and
other departments become involved. So, we have to show them we *are* a big
following of fans that want *this* show on DVD!

*Every* Forever Knight fan on the internet, or reading this, must continue
e-mailing this address. If we do not all join together as one, there's no
way we can show enough support for the show. Our numbers seem to be getting
slimmer and slimmer. Please who ever may be reading this, e-mail this
address and ask them for Forever Knight on DVD:

dvd@c.......

Just say "I am a fan of Forever Knight and would be willing to buy this
series on DVD." And sign you name or, you may be more in depth with what you
say, but at least copy and past the above, if you are limited on time. To
show a longing interest, please try to e-mail this addy monthly.

If you get a unique response, other than that the company will forward your
requests for review, please send it to me or the list to let us know.

~May the Knight go to DVD and live on *Forever*~

The series begins March 31. All of those clips are classic 'Trudeau

Sorry to sound like a real estate ad, but I've been spending too much time
househunting lately.

The following is a quote from an article called "Search for the true loft"
in the "Condo Living" section of the Toronto Star, Sat. Feb.23rd, about the
current rage for converting older buildings in downtown Toronto to
residential loft apartments.

"A midsize project also due to come on the market this spring is a loft
conversion at 68 Broadview Ave...The warehouse, with the distinctive water
tower on its roof, will be converted into 150 to 160 units ranging in size
from 1200 to 1400 square feet that will sell for $220-$240 per square foot.
It has the huge windows, exposed brick and post and beam supports."

I wonder if all the units will come with customized metal window shutters?
And will they upgrade the freight elevator?

You know you've been reading/watching too much Forever Knight when you heard
about a cow that got loose in Ohio, and think if only they had Nick on the job,
it would have been found much sooner!

Now if I could just win that lottery...

I wonder what the future residents will think about those groups of women
stopping in their parking lot and staring at the building with awe on their
faces and then taking pictures? <g>

All I can say is they better not get rid of the water tower.

Is it the same building? I haven't been to Toronto so
I don't really know about the locations.

I haven't purchased tickets and wasn't planning to go
to Stratford. However, I'm dying to meet more FK fans
and be at the next gathering. I'm just not sure what
my summer will look like at this point. Are you
suggesting the fans all meet in Toronto after "My Fair
Lady" or that they meet in Stratford during the play?

happened :(

It's definitely the same building. There's been an application for
rezoning on the lot for quite a while now. So I guess the re-zoning was
approved.

Oooh, that's intriguing...I never thought of it in quite that light.
As I keep saying, that's what I love about this list: other members'
viewpoints give my mind something shiny-pretty to play with. :)

>>>The dialogue about whether you can overcome Vampire nature was fairly
>>>consistant throughout.<<

That's how I feel, and why I think the show is more a comment on and
examination of the human condition than it is a love story.

>>><snip>Nick was not foiled by wanting something no vampire could have, but
>>>by wanting something that he could not have, he was foiled by his
>>>nature.

Could you expand upon this, please? I see Nick as an emotional,
impulsive idealist with low self-esteem (in that he sees mortals as
unquestionably better than himself). Perhaps his tragedy is that he
never realized that, although mortal, he *was* indeed, very human.

>>>BTW, I don't think there is a conflict between his love interests, at all.
>>>Very few people have one true love,<<

That's been my experience, but certainly not the experience of
everyone.

>>>and clearly Janette and Nick, if they had once been lovers, were any more
>>>only close, and occasionally sexually involved, friends--but sex is part
>>>of a vampire's nature. It was a complex relationship, I'm sure, but not an
>>>exclusively romantic one.<<

Clearly not exclusive, from the flashbacks of Nick's other amours. I
don't know exactly how one could maintain an exclusive relationship
for centuries...but then again, I don't think I'll ever get the
opportunity to find out. <g>

>>>Natalie obviously had her problems with relationships, as did Nick, and
>>>this was probably part of what drew the two disparate characters together.
>>><snip><<

It does seem to be implied that Natalie had not had many long-term
relationships, but we really don't know for sure. Did she have
alienation issues? She had friends other than Nick, certainly.

>>>The drive to become human is what they need to do to spend time together,
>>>it is what they substitute for sex, their kind of intimacy, and it turns
>>>out to be the only real intimacy they can have.<<

Their 'video and popcorn dates' are intimate, I feel, in that bonds can
develop and deepen through such ordinary, mundane activites. On the
other hand, Nick's visits to Janette--whether they result in passion
or merely playful banter--are also intimate and bonding experiences.
Again, to me this represents the duality in Nick's nature; a duality
felt by many of us. There's a great attraction in life's simple
pleasures, and a great allure in decadence and vice.

"re-zoning"? Does that mean they will do construction
around it? Change the look of it completely? Destroy
the view of Nick's home? :(

However, I think it would be awesome if a FK fan
bought it. Imagine the possibilities: They can
decorate it exactly as in the show, invite fans during
gatherings to take a look, heck, even sell tickets for
an In-Loft theme party...

Ok, I need someone to wake me up now.

Enterprising FK fans, are you listening? This could be tied in with a
Toronto tour and everything. I'll help sell the tour to FK starved fans in
Asia.

Of course, if we were Highlander fans, TPTB that owned the show would have
marketed it to us already.

Somewhat cynically (it's been that kind of day)

Just think--we'd only need 700 of us to sign the contract, and we could
own the biggest loft for under $500 each! Wonder how we'd work out the
'timeshare' aspect. Hmmm... if all 700 wanted to stay for a week, we'd
have 13 of us sharing at a time. It could work! It could! ;-)
