But do we really know that for sure? There are some indications that Last
Knight could have been a dream for one of the characters. For instance, was
the shot with the train in the background just a technical glitch, or was it
purposely done to make the episode more dreamlike? IIRC, that entire episode
had a very dreamlike quality to it. So Last Knight could be interpreted either
way by the viewers.

Again, this never happens. Nat is just drained. If you put together the
scenes here's what happens after the stake is raised...

It probably is opinion in what people want to see, BUT and her eis MY
opinion... that Nick is a guy, a male palin and simple. Lets be honest, and
not trying to slurr men, (this comes straight from the mouth of many men)
but men are sexual beasty animals...
I dont see Nick being far from that. Especially in 800 years I cant see him
being able to remain "chaste" even vampire wise, forever. Heck, thats part
of the temptation that brought him over to start with.
I think Janette and Nick have feelings for each, but I dont think they are
true DEEP feelings. She felt lust and control and watned a plaything, She
got Nick. Nick wanted a good romp in the hay with a gorgeous woman who came
onto him like a second skin.
Would Nat and Nick last in the long run? I dont know. I could hope so.
Especially if they were human. MAybe if both were vamps if they had their
own lives to live seperate from "eternal" being together. (Well thats how I
approached it in my own fic....anyway! grin) A few decades of bliss, then
their ways with visits to rekindle. Perchance like what Janette and he did..
But I dont think he loved Janette the way he "loved" Nat. It hink he loved
her yes, but more like a friend with really good benefits!
Just my Opinion... ducking the flame balls! ;-)

To me, the question's rather irrelevant, because I don't see FK as a romance
story. I see it instead as an examination of the human condition through an
'outsider's' eyes. What does it *mean* to be human? In many (if not most)
episodes, we see that Nick is more 'human' than many of the mortals he deals
with. Nat and Janette serve to illustrate the light/dark or ego/id or
dichotomy of Nick's personality.
And that's my dva kopeks. :)
