Someone asked if we knew anything about a day care center in the WTC. I saw
a mention in the New York Times for Wednesday, which I didn't read until
this morning. It's ok. There was a day care center at the plaza level in 1
WTC. It was evacuated after the first crash. None of the children was hurt.

McL, glad to have something good to pass on

McLisa gave me permission to post this:

Sears is taking donations for the Red Cross. You can pay with cash,
check, credit card, or Sears Card. I am proud of Sears for doing this.

Just so everybody knows - this is circulating widely on the Internet right now,
but it isn't quite accurate. The text has been edited from the original
broadcast to make it sound more contemporary. It was originally broadcast on
June 5, 1973. You can read the original text at:

PS This thread is pretty far off topic.

For anyone in the Twin Cities area, there is supposed to be a
candlelight vigil at the Mall of America at 9 PM in the north parking
lot. This was being advertised on the radio all day long (I can only
get WLOL to come in clearly, I work in the basement of a building.)
But most of the Twin Cities stations are owned by the "Clear
Channels" group, which advertises the same things anyway.

This letter is for the the whole FK group. I recently was told that there
was a special script written at the end of season two which was similar in
nature to the one written at the end of season three by Larry LaLonde and
Phil Bedard. It was, as the goldenplaid script from the third season, a
comedy version of the FK episodes. I know that the third season goldenplaid
is sent to fans for a donation of five dollars to charity, but I cannot find
anyplace where this second season goldenplaid exists. Does anyone know
about this script?

Albertsons, the supermarket chain, has donation canisters at each checkout
stand, and has pledged to match every dollar that it's customers donate.

Most of the 45 minute ceremony was devoted to American
marching tunes: The Liberty Bell, The Washington Post,
Manhattan Beach etc., and Hymn for the Fallen, used at the
end of Saving Private Ryan. Yesterday, at St. Paul's Cathedral,
a memorial service was held for those who had perished on
Tuesday. 400 seats were set aside for dignitaries, (including the
Royal family, and past and present prime ministers) but the
remaining 2,300 were set aside for members of the American
community and British members of the public wanting to show
their respects. It was attended by the American ambassador.
The Queen sang the American anthem. Apparently, it was the
first time in all her 75 years that she'd sang the national anthem
of a foreign country. It was relayed by loudspeakers to at least
10, 000 outside.

Subject: condolances from New Zealand

I would like to send my condolances to all those affected by the horrible
tragedy in the USA this week. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
All over New Zealand there has been a reaction. Our fire service is taking
collections to help the familys of rescue workers
http://www.fire.org.nz/news/media/2001/2001-09-14-1.htm if you would like
to see. Here in Dunedin the university held a prayer vigil for all those
affected by the bombings. I hope that in the weeks and months as everybody
struggles to come to terms with these events that justice is served in such
a way to promote healing from the thousands of people affected.

Subject: Reaction From England

Just to show you how the ordinary Brits are reacting to the current tragedy,
have a look at www.hemelhempsteadtoday.co.uk - this is my local paper's
online edition.

And for those looking for something lighter, go to the second news article,
about the woman planning to climb Ben Nevis (Scotland's highest, UK's second
highest mountain) alongside (female) TV gardener Charlie Dimmock tomorrow,
Saturday - and *NO*, that's not me, honest! It's my crazy kid sister ....
She's finally flipped - and that's just what she's been telling me. I'm
keeping quiet.... <G>

Hi Everyone,

I know this is off topic, however, with all of the disasters this week
we have all been un-nerved.

As you may be aware Florida's West Coast was hit by Gabrielle yesterday.
I'm in Tampa Bay where the brunt of the storm hit. Thankfully, we only
got a lot of wind and rain. (Boy! did we need the rain!)<<Good Thing! We
have been under drout conditions for the past two-years.>>

The worst of it consisted of power outages and some downed trees.

As for me I just have a yard to clean up tomorrow, after it dries out a lot.

Hi all,

Now that I am back home (and able to access my website) the 'question of the
week' portion of my site is back in action. This weeks question is ... "If
you wanted to introduce someone to Forever Knight but could only show them
one episode, which one would you choose and why? "
