Since Rick was Ger's full time double, one would thing that Tye would have
found some work on Forever Knight.

Well, I know that I haven't been doing as many tours as I used to before I
gave into the USA's insidious Brain Drain Orbital Mind Control Lasers and
left Toronto for more job opportunities and better money in computer
consulting in the States, but I always recall the Fluid Lounge being at
Richmond and _McCaul_, just west of University Avenue.

Then again, maybe I'm getting confused between "actual location" and
"location as described on the show", i.e., Nick's loft being "101 Gateway
Avenue" versus the fact that its actual location is the auto repair shop
formerly known as "Gateway Auto Collision", the only sign of life in the
semi-abandoned-looking industrial/commercial condominium complex along
Broadview Avenue just south of Queen Street or just north of Eastern Avenue,
depending on your perspective.

From the article:
>Tyukodi was planning to pursue another avocation as a stuntman and stunt
>co-ordinator. His stunt partner of 15 years, Rick Forsayeth, said Tyukodi
>was set to work next week on Jane Doe, a feature in which he would hang out
>of a helicopter.

Well, I can't speak to whether Mr. Tyukodi once acted as John Kapelos' stunt
double, because I don't know for sure (come to think of it, though, I
remember seeing the name somewhere before?), but I know for a 99% certainty
that Rick Forsayeth was Ger's stunt double. (I once saw him walking by at a
live filming site and mistook him for Ger, until Lesley and Miranda, the
more appreciative female fans beside me on "The Tour", assured me that while
Rick is ALMOST as good-looking as Ger, it wasn't the "real" Ger, so it
therefore must have been Rick :-) )

Amazingly, nobody had mentioned Rick on list as of the time that I saw the
article within my last FORKNI-L digest. Naturally, I think that probably
several zillion people are rushing to point this out too, so please take
pity on me for being the zillionth-and-first to point it out before my next
digest arrives. :-)

Anyway, the point here, which I think someone (Carla, I think) already made,
which was that as a Toronto stuntman, it would figure that he'd probably
have been involved with FK at some point. Consequently, I'd suggest that
because he was Rick's stuntman partner, if there's ANY chance that he looks
even remotely like John Kapelos, that probably he was indeed John's double.

Just my two cents worth, trying to be logical and all...

According to Greg Kramer, the filming location of Vachon's church is the corner
of Yorkville St. and Bay St. just two blocks north of Bloor St. W. -- the church
that was used has since burned, been torn down, and been replaced by little
shops.

However, this probably isn't the "actual" location, since Vachon looks like he
lives in a fairly deserted section of town and this area seems quite
busy/trendy.

There is a church of similar design on the corner of Jarvis St. and Carlton St.
-- while downtown, this seems to be a quieter area. It shares the block with
Allan Gardens, the exterior of which was used as a murder location in one of the
first or second season episodes (can't recall which one).

Does anyone have a "feel" for where the church is more likely to be located
within the FK universe?

(I initially sent this to Mildred personally, but since others might be
interested, I decided to post it also)

Hi Mildred!

Well, I don't do as many tours as I used to (sort of goes with not living in
Toronto anymore! :-( ), but I still remember almost everything. Let me see
your note again and see what I can do...

OH! You want the ACTUAL locations as discussed on the show? Oh geez,
except for the Coroner's Office and the CN Tower, there weren't any actual
locations that were explained as being actual positions, if that makes any
sense. (This is to say that many of the locations as described on the show
were fictitious. For example, in the "First Knight" Canadian version, if I
recall correctly, Schanke says something about going to the intersection of
Dearborn and something or other, just before he discovers his brake lines
cut and starts sliding down Avenue Road just west of my high school alma
mater De La Salle College School :-) . Anyway, there might be a Dearborn
St/Ave/Rd in Toronto, and the other street name I don't remember might be
there too, but I doubt they ever intersect, and they're hardly major
streets, at least this "Dearborn" certainly isn't!).

After that, we're pretty much left with filming locations BEING the actual
locations.

For instance, Mick's Loft is in a semi-abandoned (?) industrial/commercial
condominium complex at at the corner of Eastern Avenue and Broadview (which
is JUST south of the intersection of Queen and Broadview) and the only thing
seemingly left there is an auto repair shop that's had something like five
or six different names since the show was filmed, from "Gateway Auto
Collison" (Oh wait..."101 Gateway Drive" - just remembered), Continental
Auto Collision, Galaxy Auto Collision - I don't remember them all!

I don't know if The Raven's location was ever said on the show, but its
filming location is the Fluid Lounge, at McCaul and I think Richmond,
basically just south of a prominent knightclub (ha ha :-) ) called Whiskey
Saigon.

I don't recall if Nat's apartment's fictitious street address was ever
explained, but as for its real location, I seem to remember that it was
inside the FK studio, so it was entirely contrived.

I hope that I'm being at least slightly helpful here! :-)

Greg also sent Bonnie Kate and I out to Screed's "burial site" (or napping
site, as we all know he's just taking a nap)... I don't think the beach was
actually named in the series, but it is Cherry Beach and would be a logical
place with some careful disguising. We had to park the car and then walk for
quite a distance. It is very cold out in that area, with a beautiful view of
the city, and the beach is rather isolated. There was even a spot that could
have been a carefully hidden grave.

There are some addresses there but I honestly can't remember if they are
the real addresses or the show's addresses.
