Isn't that more evidence to indicate he was a Vampire?

Subject: Animal Languages
Hi Y'all!
This is posted with McLisa's permission (Thanks Lisa!).
I've recently gone back to school to get my master's degree in Education.
I'm taking a Linguistics course this semester and I'm doing a research
paper for my final. The topic I'm researching is animal languages. In
Blind Faith, Perry 's owner (argh, forgot her name) talks to him like any
of us talk to our animals but after Perry becomes a vamp, he appears to
comprehend human speech more. I'd like to know if any of you animal
lovers/pet owners have had experiences *talking* to your animals or your
animals talking to you. Would you send your experiences to me PRIVATELY
at eowyn3@j.......? I'd really appreciate it. I won't use names, just
the anecdotes if anyone is worried about being quoted in my paper.
BTW, I've learned that there is huge controversy between linguistic
"purists" and others about whether or not animals do in fact possess
"language."
McLisa has already sent me an experience which was exactly what I was
looking for. Thanks again Lisa!!!

Hi Desiree and FK list,
I know that when you asked about a FK book that you may have meant
something else, but there was to be a book put out about FK and nothing has
come about from that. I recently contacted Pat McGrew who was going to
print an unofficial book called "Secrets of the Knight." I asked if I had
missed it, since I have not heard anything in months. This was the reply I
just received a day ago.
>What you missed was the disappearance of the authors. I'm sitting here

Hehe, well, the NickKnacks part of the CaddyWhack faction sort of covers all
the *stuff*. Some of us are prop nuts. ;) Like Schanke's duck lamp, or
LaCroix's sword pin. And surely this covers all of Nat's doohickeys too.
*grins*
On the other hand, is there a faction for Grace and Nat? Seems like a darn
good name for that. ;) I must admit I have a fascination with forensic
pathology, coroners, and so on. :> Discovery channel has some great shows
on it now. :>

Ahem.
Greetings to all... let's see, what would be the best way to begin this? How
about:
Hi, my name is Eve, and I'm a Knightaholic. ;)
I've been watching since high school, not so very long ago at that, but I
never knew there was such an interesting and diverse network of fans within
reach. (Everyone I mention the show to looks at me askance and then says
something like, "Oh, right, with the vampires, didn't that used to be on at
like two in the morning?" if they recognize it at all.) Left to my own
devices, I've written fanfic of as-yet-indeterminate quality, since it
hasn't been beta-read by anyone familiar with the show; I also dabble in
watercolours so I've been working up a portrait of my favourite fair-haired
boy, Nicholas, just to pass the time. It's looking pretty impressionistic
right now, but I'm getting there. ;)
I've been lurking on this list for just over a week, long enough to
(over)hear some fun discussions and amass a wide variety of Roman food
trivia. *grin*
I've never been to a convention, I'm still not entirely clear on all the fan
affiliations, and I've barely scratched the surface of the fanfic, so if I
say something that's been said a million times or ask something that's so
preposterously stupid you just want to throw list hamsters at me, please
don't. That's all I ask, really.
I've just realized I start too many paragraphs with "I've". So that's enough
about me. ;)
Looking forward to getting to know you all,
Eve.

Mine too. Of course they're all my faves at this point. Hence the "aholic"
part. I can't get enough. My family thinks that school-related stress has
finally caused me to go off the deep end, except for my mum, who finds
"Nicholas" (as she insists on calling him) quite attractive.

I've posted one of my stories to the fanfic list, so I'm about to experience
the bliss for myself. I'm resisting the urge to make the old "Be gentle,
it's my first time" joke.
Also, if anyone wants to check out a preliminary sketch I did for the

Hey, Eve! Welcome! I strongly encourage advertising for a beta-reader --
they are so helpful. There are some who can get by without, but it never
hurts to have someone (or 2 or more) go over your piece and see if they
catch anything. Besides, it's so encouraging and takes away some of the
fear of that first "official" post!

FORKNI-L RULES
1. No flames on list. FLAMERS MAY BE SET NOPOST. THE NOPOST
MAY BE PERMANENT.
2. Please don't quote more than four lines of a previous post in replying.
If you have more than one point to answer, then you may quote the
relevant four lines for that point also.
3. Limit sigs to 6 lines. This includes all information, decoration
quotations and blank lines. Your name and address count as part of
the six. If you sign your name on a separate line above the body of text,
your name and the blank line or lines between count as part of the six
line limit. If you have one of those services that insists on putting an
advertising tag on the end of posts, don't worry. We realize you can't
control that and it doesn't count as part of your sig.
4. Please don't send to the whole list when you are only talking to the
person who wrote the post you are answering.
5. Advertising on list is on a case by case basis. Please consult the
listowners, Lisa McDavid, <mclisa@m.......> or Don Fasig,
<Argent@e.......> for permission.
6. This list is for the discussion of Forever Knight. Cast, crew, staff and
producers in connection with what they're doing now or have done in the
past are ok. Vampires in general are _NOT_ ok except in relation to
Forever Knight.
7. Off-topic posts are not allowed, no matter what they are about or how
urgent the warning may appear. If you have an off-topic post which you
think should appear on the list, ask one of the owners for permission.
8. The private lives of the cast are not a discussion topic. Occasionally
one of the fan club presidents will make an announcement, but other
than that, we leave the cast their privacy.
9. Con announcements must come from con officials or a designated
liaison and must be kept brief. Cons are only announced on list if there
is a connection to FK.
10. Only fan club presidents or other designated spokespeople may
make announcements of future projects for FK cast, crew and staff,
before said projects have been released or written about in the media.
11. No role-playing on Forkni-l. This includes no character names as
pseudonyms or posing as a character.
12. Each subscriber is limited to five posts per day on Forkni-l.

Seriously, there are no stupid questions except the ones that haven't been
asked. Quite often someone -- sometimes me, will ask a question and be
surprised to find out how many other list members were wondering the same
thing. As for things that have been said before, yes, but that doesn't mean
it won't start new ideas and bring on a new discussion.

This is sort of an FK in-joke. Ger pronounces words with "clu" in them with a
sort of Canadian/Welsh sound, a very obvious "euww" sort of thing. Watch "Games
Vampires Play" for an ep that has lots of "clu" words. Ger knows we picked up on
this and sometimes plays it up at fan gatherings by dropping them into
conversation frequently. I know he did it a lot at one of the Gertherings--the
third one?---and got lots of laughs.
