It looks like the story is embedded in other code that might be an attempt
at anti-piracy code. I run Windows NT, and here's how I got a JADFE story
to download as text:

I clicked on the story on the site, and got what looked like a text window
with http://www.lady-lacroix.com in the page address window.

I then clicked inside the text of the story, then right-clicked inside the
text of the story and selected "Properties" from the pop-up menu. This
resulted in a pop-up window that included the *true* URL of the story -- in
this case, http://cyberguy.dynip.com/lady/jadfe/Humor/be_wiles.html ("Be
Careful What You Wish For", from the Humor page).

I highlighted the correct URL in the Properties pop-up and pressed Ctrl-C
to copy it, then I dismissed the pop-up.

I then clicked in the address window of my browser. When the current URL
was completely highlighted, I pressed Ctrl-V to paste the correct URL in
the address window, then pressed ENTER to load it.

Once the story loaded, I did a "Save As Text" option, and got the complete
story with no problem.

Sounds as though the Die Hard faction is for you. We're one of the
original factions and are comprised of fans who refuse to settle for
supporting only on character - we love 'em all!

Subject: CN Tower

It's a really cool place! I didn't get to spend too long at it, but I did
have a great time. If it hadn't been cloudy I could've seen a lot further.
There was one building that looked like a bunch of those Andes candies with
the shiny green foil wrappers all glued together to make a building.

When my friend and I went as far up as you could go the line "higher than
high" came to mind. <G> Actually, Ger was even higher than that. I believe
he was up where the antennas and stuff are. Poor guy is afraid of heights
and they had him out where people really aren't meant to be. Now you know
why he was hugging the back wall like he did in that scene.

My friend had fun laying on the glass floor. There is a small area that has
glass instead of non seethrough stuff for the floor. It would've been more
impressive if it hadn't been cloudy.

I didn't eat at the restaurant or check out the movies or game they had. I
did do a quick shop at the gift shop.

Be warned that to go all the way up requires a second ticket. And it takes
longer as there aren't as many elevators.

Folks,
I am helping to edit an FK episode guide.
I have two questions that I need help with to make sure I've got
the right stuff written down
        1) I remember that the white pieces in a game of chess are
also called Red for some odd reason. Can anyone confirm/deny
this?
        2) What was the episode that had the scene where Nick and
Natalie were watching movies and eatting popcorn at the Loft and
Nick suddenly flashed his fangs and startled Natalie out of about
three years worth of life?

        Thanks,

OK, I'm issuing a challenge to everyone out there to write a short (even if it's
only a few paragraphs!!!) story set in today. It's Friday the 13th, just before
Halloween, and it's a FULL MOON.

Subject can be anything or anyone FK.

I'm working on mine right now. :-)

About Chess:

The board is made up of light colored squares and dark colored squares. The
rows that run across the board are called ranks. The rows that run up and
down the board are called files. (the diagonals are called diagonals <g>)
Players sit at opposite ends of the board, each with a light colored square
at the right-hand corner. The playing pieces are sixteen light-colored men
called "White" and sixteen dark colored men called "Black". The game is
believed to have begun in India around 600 AD and spread through Europe by
Muslim invaders by 1000 AD. This information was taken from Worldbook
encyclopedia.

Nick's Fangs:

The scene you've describe, Nick flashing fangs at Natalie, who throws
popcorn at Nick is from "False Witness". I've heard that it was just
something that happened in the dailies, was not part of the script, and the
producers left it in. <g>. Makes me want to see more of those dailies!

Good luck with your fanfic! When do we get to see it?

I've played some chess myself and have never heard of this. As far as I know,
they're black or white pieces. However, I've never done any extensive
research into the game.

I have had a private e-mail that confirms what I remember.
The white pieces are also known as the Red side.
This makes sense in the episode I was editing (Curiouser +
Curiouser) as the camera lingers on the white queen of the
chessboard in Natalie's apartment. If you know this piece of trivia,
it makes sense as Natalie is symbolically the Red Queen from
Alice in Wonderland.

Well, I don't know anything about chess, but this question did make me think
about Alice's Red Queen. She was definitely a chess piece. I also didn't know
that Natalie represented the Red Queen in that ep. Makes me want to watch it
again -- too bad I don't have any tapes?

Anybody out there in the mood to help me start a collection of tapes???

There's LOTS of fun Kickstart the Knight stuff going on this month! Please
be sure to participate in all the events below to insure that this Halloween
we get what we want... The Return of Forever Knight!!

*Fangs for the Knight! A Halloween Project*

This Halloween, "Kickstart The Knight" will be doing something special to
Encourage *The Powers That Be* to provide us all with not only a return of
the reruns to the Schedule, but renew it as a series with the original cast,
and or return it as a series of made for TV movies, and merchandise.

We have purchased Vampire Fangs, in an assortment of neon colors.
From now through October 22nd, we are asking each and every Forever Knight
fan to please send an e-mail asking for the above. We in turn will print out
and attach your mail to a set of fangs, and send it to Tristar/Columbia and
the Sci-fi Channel in a special package.

Lets make sure that this Halloween is the one where we finally get what we
want!

So come-on and join in on the fun! Help the cause! Lets make sure we
let them all know that we want Nick and company to take another bite out of
crime!!!

Send all E-mails to : SField8067@a.......
(put "Fangs Project" into the subject line)

*Blitzing for the Knight! October*

This entire month we are focusing on the four powers that be, Tristar,
Sci-fi, TNT, and now CBS!

A lot of FK fans have wondered why we don't approach other networks about
possibly reviving the series. Well, we decided to include along with Sci-fi
and Tristar for this month a blitz to TNT along with CBS to test the
waters!!

E-mail: tnt@t.......
(and place in the subject line: "To The Attention Of The Vice-President of
Programming")

You also may call TNT's Viewer Comment and Question Line at (404) 885-4538,
however we ask that any phone calls be in addition to letters and e-mails.

For snail mail, send to:
Vice-President of Programming
TNT 1010 Techwood Drive, NW
Atlanta, GA 30318

CBS Mail Form: http://cbsnews.cbs.com/now/feedback/0,1611,412,00.html

For snail mail, send to:
Leslie Moonves
President,
CBS Entertainment
7800 Beverly Blvd.
Los Angeles,CA 90036

and...

CBS
51 West 52nd St.
New York, NY 10019

Its going to be a big dose of e-mails from each of you the fans that would
love to not only have FK back on Sci-fi's schedule, but want to make sure
everyone knows that we are want more FK with the original cast in new
episodes and or movies!! So, what do you say? Are you ready to sit down,
take that few minutes and send off three e-mails? It could make all the
difference in the world!

Remember, say a little or say a lot, but say it!! We can make more FK
happen!!!

For the "whole" month of September, we are asking everyone to blitz the
feedbacks!!! For the month, you can re-use the e-mails you did before, or
write new ones. They can be long, or as short as just saying, "Bring Back
Forever Knight."

Important info to add in your letters: Sunday July 16, at 9:00 pm, ET/8:00
pm CT, SciFi aired a monthly program focussing on sci-fi movies and tv shows
that have become "cult" favorites among fans. The program's called
"SCIography", During this current blitz, we could ask that an upcoming
"SCIography" ep feature FK! So far, they plan to do eps on "Battlestar
Galactica", "Quantum Leap" and "Sliders", so asking them if they plan to do
a "SCIography" ep about FK can't hurt.

Also, Sci-Fi will be airing "Sci-Fi World", which is a 6 hour block of
sci-fi programs with a different theme each day. It's also possible to ask
them if FK will be a part of the "Sci-Fi World" programming block! So, be
sure to include these new ideas in the summer blitzes!

ALSO REMEMBER!! Sci-fi will be changing its schedule around again in the
fall.... lets make sure that we get Forever Knight on!!!

Sci-Fi's E-mail: feedback@w.......

Sony/Tristar Mail Form: http://www.spe.sony.com/spe/help_feedback_index.html

When e-mailing TriStar,(especially) give as much personal info as you
can...rather than just an e-mail name. A bit more personal carries more
weight with TPTB.

*Phone Blitz*

In an effort to add to our Halloween *Fangs Project* and regualr e-mails
blitz we will be doing a phone blitz for October!!

We all want to be heard by TPTB dont we? Well, now is your chance!!

For this entire month, we are asking everyone that is able to, to pick up
the nearest phone and make a call to the programming department at Sci-Fi !

Say a little, say alot, but let them hear you say "We want more FK!"

(212)-408-9100-for Sci Fi

(212) -413-5000-programming dept.

(note these are New York #'s......)

Now we would like to have an idea of the amount of phone calls we can count
on being made.

So we at KtK are asking that whoever wants to participate in this,to please
contact Kristin at: kris1228@s.......

She will place your name on a very special list, and you will be sent
reminders/updates of the approching time to make that call :)

We sincerely hope that we are able to get hundreds if not more of you to do
this!!!

*Get Forever Knight on DVD!*

This is a NEW online petition: "Get TV Shows on DVD!" Sign it to get FK on
DVD! Every signature helps!

Go Here: http://www.PetitionOnline.com/dvdtv/

Well those are the big events for October! And feel free to sing our victory
song this Halloween...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Trick or Treat!!
Give us something good to see!
We do care, so do it right!
Just by Bringing Back the Knight!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Long Live the Knight!
Kristin
http://members.xoom.com/forever_nick/Forever_Knight

P.S. I'll be sending out weekly reminders on this list about all the
projects! :)
