Subject: GWD on HL/Nigel Bennett in Paint Cans

GWD's HL appearance is famous for at least one FK reference ... girlfriend
is named Janette and is immortalized in the form of 3 HL CCG cards with
various stages in the fight between himself and Duncan. The last of the
sequence of 3 just shows his dead body. :)

Showcase, the Canadian cable channel which last showed FK locally, will be
rerunning Paint Cans with Nigel Bennett. Details follow:

Although there is a modern international fraternity, the Rosicrucian
Order AMORC (they have an easy-find-website), I suspect LC was gleefully
referring to the Rosicrucians he knew 3 centuries before.

The Rosicrucians were a secret religious organization, very active in
the 17th and 18th century, with a bent toward alchemy, the occult,
cabalistic studies -- and a dim view of the papacy. They claimed to have
special magical knowledge. Membership was very selective. Their
(probably mythological) founder was supposed to have been a 15th-century
German nobleman and Friar (or former Friar) named Christian Rosenkreuz.

Rosenkreuz = Rosae Crucis = Rosy Cross. The rose and the cross were
both occult symbols.

The episode was "Turnabout" from 2nd season, and it was the first time
Duncan had to behead a friend.

Quentin Barnes was the bad personality's name, and apparently he was the
only personality that the Watchers knew about.

when you read a newspaper article that mentions that Jesse Ventura told Al
Gore about the exploits of wrestler "Mad Dog Vachon - the meanest and
toughest opponent he ever faced in the ring" and you get a picture of Javier
wearing only trunks flying (literally) off the top rope, long hair flowing
behind him to flatten "The Body" to the canvas.

Subject: FK Beta Reader Lists?

Greetings,
I was wondering if there is a beta-reader mailing list out there
specifically for fk. I saw a lot of them (for buffy, mostly) at egroups but
none specifically stated FK.

If there is no list, are there people willing to join the list and help me
to help beta read stories (and beta read each others)?

BTW, I *do* actually have a story coming out soon...*g* it just has to get
beta-read. *gasp!* Yes, I'm actually going to have my story beta read. I
think that's a first.

There's an FK-Writers group at egroups that you can ask. Personally, I've
always found it more useful than a pure beta-readers group, since most of my
questions come when I'm writing the story, rather than after.

You know you've been watching too much FK when the first thing you notice
about your husband's new cell phone is that the model number is 1228!!! Yes,
of course I'm going to get one too now. And one of the ring sounds it makes
is classic gothic organ music...dah dah daaaaah, dah dah dah dah.

You also know you've been watching too much FK when you go to your local
Greek fest and refuse all other food until you've found and sampled the
souvlaki. Good stuff (even though I very rarely eat meat), thanks Schanke!

Subject: Last Day of the Blitz!!

It's day 14 and the last day of the Feedback Blitz!! Go ahead and e-mail the
two powers that
be below asking for what you desire in the Knight (you can also re-use your
letters for this 2 week blitz)...

1. Sci-fi: feedback@w.......

2. Tristar/Sony: http://www.spe.sony.com/spe/help_feedback_index.html

..................................................
Forget what the blitz is about? Read below:

It looks like these blitzes we have been doing are getting some attention!
So we at KtK, are going to turn them into a monthly routine. This month we
are focusing on the two main powers, Tristar and Sci-fi.

Its going to be a double dose of e-mails from each of you the fans that
would love to not only have FK back on Sci-fi's schedule, but want to make
sure everyone knows that we are want more FK with the original cast in new
episodes and or movies!! So, what do you say? Are you ready to sit down,
take that few minutes and send off two e-mails? It could make all the
difference in the world!

Remember, say a little or say a lot, but say it!! We can make more FK
happen!!!

June 12th, through June 24th, we are asking everyone to blitz both
feedbacks!!! For the two weeks, you can re-use the e-mails you did before,
or write new ones. They can be long, or as short as just saying, "Bring Back
Forever Knight."

ALSO REMEMBER!! Sci-fi will be changing its schedule around in June, and
again in the fall.... lets make sure that we get Forever Knight on!!!

Sci-Fi's E-mail: feedback@w.......

Sony/Tristar Mail Form: http://www.spe.sony.com/spe/help_feedback_index.html

When e-mailing TriStar,(especially) give as much personal info as you
can...rather than just an e-mail name. A bit more personal carries more
weight with TPTB.

I also made a button/banner for the upcoming blitzing, which you can use to
help spread the word, by putting this on your site (you can get off my save
fk page).

Subject: New fan???

I might have hooked someone! A friend of mine just asked to borrow some
of my FK tapes as she's never seen the show - actually she'd never even
heard of it until we met a few months ago... anyway, now I'm looking at
the eps and wondering which would be the best to show her. I've told
her all about it of course, so she knows all about the cheap special
effects in the first season (don't you just love the 'shining a
flashlight in the eyes' look?) but I really want to 'catch' her with her
first view of the show.

I got hooked on the first ep I ever saw - C&C. But that's a little
weird, so - any suggestions? She's really spooked by scary movies, just
saw the Sixth Sense and couldn't sleep at all that night, so I guess
Sons of Belial and Dead of Night are out <g>. I was thinking maybe Only
the Lonely or Black Buddha, but Stranger than Fiction could be fun...

The first ep that I saw bits and pieces of was Dying For Fame, but the one
that hooked me was Only the Lonely. I think Only the Lonely or even Dark
Knight would be a good idea. Only the Lonely is just a good ep that shows
how he popped up into Nat's life, and Dark Knight because... well, come on!
It's a good one! ;-)

Hope I helped a bit...
