Gary Griffin is NOT Ger, it is a totally different man.
Gary Griffin is the co-artistic director of the Apple Tree Theater.
They are not the name guy.

"Ger IS directing the play. He will not be performing in it.
The theatre's web site is under construction. It has not
been updated since at least early April when I first
checked it. We didn't send people to the theatre's web page
to avoid confusion.
The opening night of the play is June 11 (Sunday) but that
is invitation only. Public performances are as follows:
Wednesdays (6/14 on): 7:30 PM
Fridays: 8:00 PM
Saturdays: 5:00 PM & 8:30 PM
Sundays: 3:00 PM & 7:00 PM
Tickets are $28.50, ($24.50 for students/seniors).
Tickets may be ordered by phone at 1-847-432-4335
(Mastercard & Visa only).
The GWDFC is not organizing any trips to the play.
(And no, 'Gary Griffin' is not a nom de plume for Ger! GG
has been the co-director of the theatre for several years.)

In Blind Faith, though, didn't Nick say something to Tracy about having
friends he hadn't seen for a long time, then being just as much friends
with them as ever when he ran into them again? He started to say he had
friends he hadn't seen in hundreds of years, but then caught himself and
shortened the time period.
I also got the feeling he was pretty friendly with Felix Twist.

I've seen "Angel," and there are insane similarities between to two
series, besides the plot of a vampire trying to redeem himself.
They have a perky blonde female cop, who's Dad was a cop.
There is Angel's place, a candle lit loft-like apartment equipped with
a sliding door and a collection of antiques, and quick shots of the sun
both rising and setting before a scene. "Angel" even has flashbacks (or at
least tries to)
Depending on your view point you might get a kick out of the similarities,
or if you anything like me, these funky similarities get under your skin
because I can't have Nick, but I should settle for some pale imitation?
Don't get me wrong, David Borenez is a talented and good-looking fellow,
but I do not believe for one-second that his character "Angel" has been
around for centuries.
And as much as we joke about Nick's angst, you have to admit it's
one of the characters quality that we are drawn to. "Angel" may
have the budget, but it seriously lacks the heart that FK had.
Of course all of this is IMO,

Greetings everyone!!
I'm back. 'nuf said. So, here's what this update will cover...totals for
all letters every written, year-end 1999 and totals as of 5-31-2000. In
addition, the top 5 letter-writers for 1999 will be posted and if you are
listed, please contact me off-list to make arrangements for your Godiva
chocolate (or a suitable substitute) delivery.
So, here we go...
The top 5 letter-writers for 1999 are <drum roll>: Lori Isabella (90), Anita
Brown (50), Morgaine (35), Gwenn Musicante (29), and Nancy (Raggies)
(28)!!!!!!! Together, these 5 ladies wrote 46% of all the letters sent in
1999!!! Way to go ladies!!! Please contact me at Javiette@a....... for your

509 letters were written in 1999, which is pretty comparable to the number
written in 1998. However, so far in 2000, only 66 letters have been
written!!! We've got to get our pencils sharpened now more than ever!! In
1999 a total of 79 people wrote those 509 letters. So far in 2000, we've
only had 29 writers put their pencils to the paper (or fingers to the
keyboard so to speak)!! So, let's see what we can do in June!!

There are *too many* similarities for it to be
coincidence, IMO, and I really resent that they ripped
off FK to make a spinoff from "Buffy."
Forever Knight was the best vampire tv show *ever* and
it's infuriating that it was treated so shabbily while
the Buffy empire is getting so much attention.

I agree. It's one thing for the vampire myth to build on what came earlier.
It's another thing to just plain rip something off.

My only hope is that someday, somebody will write an article pointing out
the simlilarities and that FK came first, not to put down "Angel", but to
build interest in Forever Knight.

Well I watch both Angel and FK practically religiously, so I'm not going to
get into that argument, although it does bug me that Angel seems to be
getting much more credit than FK was. However, I HAVE noticed a zillion
similarities between Angel and FK, in fact I was reluctant to get into Angel
at first because I thought it was just a dumb rip-off copycat show that was
basically just one big copyright infringement, but I kinda got around that
and started appreciating it for its own merits. Anyway, here's what I've
noticed:
1. Both Angel and Nick are vampires seeking redemption for all the horrible
stuff they've done, although in Angel's case it wasn't really of his own
volition that he committed such terrible deeds, both Angel and Nick had a
*bad* period in their life where they were basically monsters
2. Both vampires live in a loft-like place, dark and brooding and whatnot
3. Both drive convertibles
4. Both drink animal blood (Angel = pig, Nick = cow) because they can't
bear to drink human
5. Both revolve around love that just can't work (Angel can't be with
Buffy, Nick can't be with whatever love interest he happens to have at the
time, be it Nat or someone else)
6. Both have sires that want them to turn back into the fold (normally I
wouldn't mention this, but since the Angel finale reincarnated Darla, I feel
I could bring it up without crossing into the premises that BtVS alone set
up)
7. Angel is somewhat of a P.I. and Nick is a detective, very similar
8. Both Angel and Nick have a goal to become human again
Yikes, there are quite a few similarities aren't there? And these are just
the ones I can think of off the top of my head without thinking too much.
If I did a more in depth analysis, it would probably turn up even more.

Discussion? I hadn't better attend, it could develop into a brawl. <g> Is

who enjoy Buffy/Angel, but I find I have to avoid catching sight of either,
or my
blood pressure rises to dizzying heights.<g> The thought of those shows
enjoying such a wide success, when, imo, a show infinitely superior in every
department was junked and remains ignored by the networks, makes me so
indignant on it's behalf. And now, reading of all those similarities between
FK and Angel... I could howl...

Forever Knight is doing worse and worse on Global 100. FK was actually
number 2 at one point. Then it dropped like someone drove a stake through it
to number 8. It has been sitting in the 8th position forever now.
HERE IS WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT......
THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT CLIMB:::
#1. IMPORTANT: Those of you who are not on "High Levels" please simply
answer your questions on the personal card about gender, birth,etc. It's
very simple and does not take long and it REALLY helps your weight on the
charts! If every one can get up to HIGH level, it can really help FK's
position! If you have questions about this please feel free to ask me by
e-mail (kris1228@s.......).
#2. NEW VOTERS: We REALLY need NEW voters who have never voted for FK before
on the chart. Please, if you have not voted before click on the address
below, and then click I'm a New User. Then follow the easy rules to sign up.
We really need you! (and don't forget this chart is sent in to TPTB monthly
with the petitions!)

The DON'T's::
#1. DON'T repeat with multiple e-mail addresses either! They reconize your
ISP addresses and it will do more damage than good, lowering weight of all
your votes.
#2. DON'T be an Anonymous! Please actually sign up and follow the easy steps
to become a much better HIGH voter.
Other things I noticed were that Brimestone, which is now #1 on the chart
has ALL HIGH LEVEL voters! HIGH is a MAJOR factor. It also has LOTS of
voters all like this. Now if only every one on this list can do the same,
we'd REALLY see some changes!!

I filled out the questions. It took Millidian *several months* to email me
back with my key code to enter to moved to the higher level. That may be
why so many people are voting at the low level, or have given up voting at
all.
