Subject: Carouche question I was wondering, if a "human" vampire sweats and cries blood, wouldn't a vampire dog drool blood? It is their only bodily fluid, after all. Otherwise, a vampire who accidentally spit while talking would be immediately suspect of SOMETHING as instead of clear, the spit would be red. We do know that vampires have some sort of digestive juices so perhaps that is clear and takes the place of "spit." And sometimes cheese can be quite tasty and fun! Subject: Admin: Blank line after qhotes, please? Please, can we all leave a blank line after the end of a quotation, before starting to comment? I've been told that in some mailers it's difficult to tell where the quotation stops and the reply beings if there is no blank line. Thanks! Basically, it's illegal for anyone to own a handgun or automatic weapon in Canada. There are some exceptions, of course, but the rules regarding ownership are pretty stringent. I checked the Firearms Act and it does not specify exactly how a weapon can be transported, but I would assume that the minimum would be unloaded and locked in the trunk of a vehicle. That would apply across Canada. -- Marg in Toronto, the City of the Knight <mytoronto@h.......> Please visit the Upper Canada Connection - A Canadian Tribute to Geraint Wyn Davies: http://members.home.net/gwducc/index.htm ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Mar 2000 18:19:26 -0600 From: treeleaf@i....... Maybe it's just the extreme version of the parent who says to his little kid, "Well if you're not coming, I'm going without you," and then walks off. Usually, it succeeds in getting the kid to come trailing behind. Actually, I don't know if anyone would do that in this day and age when things seem so dangerous, but I've seen some parents do it in the past. Bring 'em back alive! Margie (treeleaf@i.......) Bell" <webwarren@e.......> asked: "Do the "licensed [firearm] transport" laws vary from Canadian province to Canadian province, or are they the same throughout Canada?" The firearm laws are part of the Canadian Criminal Code, and so they're national. Handguns must be transported in a locked case in a locked trunk, and you'd better have your licences to possess & transport same ready. Americans must leave their handguns at the border--U.S. Customs has lockers, I think. Canada Customs will send you back--or worse! Long arms (rifles etc.) must not be in plain view--gun racks in the back window of the pickup are strictly illegal. (I suspect that's a great way to get pulled over _fast_!) To purchase (or even borrow) any firearm, you must have a Firearms Acquisition Certificate (FAC). To have an FAC, you must pass police background checks and pass a knowledge & safety course or challenge exam, which is why I know all this stuff. There are a couple of great websites on Canadian firearms law, if you need more detailed info--just ask, and I'll dig out the URLs. All firearms must be transported & stored unloaded. The ammunition for a handgun may not be transported in the case along with the gun; I don't recall offhand if it can be in the trunk or not. All firearms must have a trigger lock in place when they're not in use. It's available on fkfanfic.com. The title is: LaCroix's Requiem. It's a short story. thank you, and i will slink back into the shadows now... monica luscious luicus lover ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Mar 2000 22:29:48 -0000 From: Barbara Vainio <bevainio@w.......> Subject: Re: Hunters ep question > At 02:35 PM 3/1/00 -0700, KYER wrote: > > >'Hunters' ... What could have preceded that scene in order for LC to be so > peeved >as to abandon his kids? > I have a couple of theories about this. One is that LC is very much a survivor. So he would not wait to get out of the sun even if his children were left behind. The other (I prefer this one) is that LC spent his mortal & most, if not all, of his immortal life expecting and receiving instant obedience to his orders. So he would move off expecting Nicholas to follow even if Janette didn't. Barb ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Mar 2000 00:04:10 EST From: KnghtWtch@a....... John had to cancel from L:CA2 because he was working. I understand the cost commitment they actors make to cons but it seems to me that they could aleast be invited even if they can't make it. Just seems like a curtsey to me. I know Deb has retired. I've been on the list since 95. She has since had a baby and is very happy. We do miss her anyway. I just felt they should be invited anyway. Like the aunt you must invite to your wedding or they'll be family hell to pay. Even if you know she won't attend. Thanks again and be well. Sorry for the short delay. There will be a huge update regarding the masterlist coming very shortly for the FK stories written in 1999. Unfortunately I've been reformatting my hard drives throughout this week, so it's made it difficult to get any work done. The list will be posted, and there is a site under development for the Master Sheet as well. Until later, -Steve ===== "Dragons never die.
