Could someone in canada or who knows about this tell me...Do cops come up and ask for License and registration papers like they do in the states? In NZ we have only our drivers License on our persons. The vehicle must have visible on its windscreen, a current warrant of fitness(mechanical check) and a current registration(road tax) otherwise it's an instant fine. Plus license plates both front and rear. Having watched far too much US TV;) I know what is required in the US but have no idea about Canada. Can anybody help me? Cheers, Kylie. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 26 Feb 2000 17:07:12 -0800 From: Cousin Mary <anteros@j.......> Subject: Re: in search of Screed On Sat, 26 Feb 2000 15:37:09 EST Libratsie@a....... writes: >I'm in search of Screed... Go Tracy/Screed! Woohoo! <eg>) you can ask the authors about archiving them on the Screed site too. Oh, if you get a chance I'd love a link from the SCreed site to the RatPat site too, it's already linked the other way 'round :) Oh, the link might help huh? ;-) http://www.geocities.com/cousin_mary1228/ratpat.html hugs! If there is a librarian with access to government documents or non-web census information, could you contact me off-list? I need information for a paper and have hit a brick wall locally. You all reminded me of all your wonderful stories, and I thank you. I am very excited about this years awards because this is the first time I will be participating as a writer. All my stories are new, so none will be in the historic category. 1) "Hope" The story of Daniel from "Father Figure," and a cure. 2) "Lightning Always Strikes Twice" A pre-"Last Knight" story. 3) "The Path Not Taken" A ancient candle stick allows each character to have their wish granted. 4) A Poem- "You Could Have Said I Love You Just Once" All can be found at Mel's spectacular site: www.fkfanfic.com I wish all the writers the best of luck. This is a contest in which we all win. And I strongly encourage everyone to participate by reading the wonderful list of nominations and by voting. Feel free to forward: This applies to those participating in the 1999 Fan Fiction Awards as well as those trying to contact me via webmistress@f....... or fkarchiver@f.......... I'm going on a much-needed, long-overdue vacation starting NOW until Thursday (March 2). (Woohoo!!!!!) I probably won't have easy access to email during this time, nor do I plan to spend time checking my email (I work on computers all day and most of the night now, so I really want a break from them!). Thus, be patient when sending me email, signing up for Voter Ids, etc. about the Awards or www.fkfanfic.com in general. I'll get to it as soon as I can and/or when I get back. If this impacts the Awards, I will consider updateing and extending the various deadlines for nominations, etc. Thanks and take care all! Lynne and I did "The Tour" for Sonja Launpach about a year and a half ago. We corresponded a little bit after that, but because of my astounding stupidity (err, I mean "The Speed O'Will"), it took me over a YEAR to compose a reply to a note that she wrote _last_ February. Oddly, in that note, she mentioned getting an acceptance letter at another university, hence the obvious reason for my letter having just _bounced_. Doh! So, Sonja, if you're on the list, please say yoohoo to me, or if someone knows Sonja, please drop me a line off-list. Thanks! What are the circumstances? Ie. During road blocks (DD campaigns) they just make sure the insurance sticker is right and ask to see your license. For speeding they just send a bill to whoever the registered owner is (photoradar). For accidents you must show registration and license. I'm sure that if circumstances are right (suspicious behaviour on part of the driver or something) they have authority to ask to see registration. Anyone know someone who works at an MVB (Motor Vehicles Branch)? ~Rayne (no expert on specific policy, but who does drive around ALOT...oh there *might* be minor differences from muinicipality to municipality, but if you are dealing RCMP it's the same X Canada.) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Feb 2000 07:53:58 -0400 From: Robert Gillis <ap840@c.......> Subject: Some of my fave 1999 stories Hi, folks.
