Subject: From Enid Rodriguez (AKA "LadyEnid", EnidKnight) Greetings to all: As of January 12, 1999, I have set myself on NOMAIL for the major Forever Knight lists, and on DIGEST for my factions. I will unable to attend any chat rooms for quite some time, due to a personal emergency. I will not being using my ICQ, or my Yahoo Messenger as well. It looks like I will not be online very often. Don't worry, nothing is terribly wrong, I just need to get several things in order that will demand the majority of my time. I will miss everyone very much, and I will think about you. If you definitely need to reach me, try to e-mail me at EnidKnight@a....... As for Nat's Twinkie comment... I think she was being sarcastic. The Twinkie because it was probably a large yellow cake, which does look like a twinkie. <<<< Is a "Twinkie" a different sort of pastry in Canada than it is here in the States? Nat jokes with Grace and her friends about her birthday "cake" being a Twinkie with candles in it, but what they serve up looks more like a cheesecake or cream pie, >> I think Nat was just joking, ribbing them for getting her a cheap birthday cake. >> I have to agree. Snack cakes Nick, and all the vampires - wouldn't eat one. Nat would try to make him try either a snowball or a something like a chocolate Twinkie. I go for the chocolate one. Nat - anything chocolate. Probably also the snowballs, twinkies. Tracy - snowballs, coffee cakes Schanke - just about anything and everything. He does like donuts. The various captains, I don't know. Stonetree - coffee cakes maybe. Cohen - cinnamon bun, chocolate or twinkie maybe. Reese - maybe a cinnamon bun? or a nice jelly donut. One problem: vampires don't age. We've already seen the "age problem" affect Highlander and STAR TREK (e.g., check Adrian Paul's hairline through the progression of "Highlander: The Series", and Brent Spiner's hairline through the progression of "STAR TREK: The Next Generation")... Is this not what we do best? What else have we been practicing for all these many years? Personally, I'm ready to believe that a grey hair or two (or maybe a few more missing) is a belated result of the Fever. I use less plausible rationalizations every day to explain why I'm sitting here discussing vampires instead of working. <g> Chris Rosmini chrismin@e....... We've already seen the > "age problem" I can see enough normal-human changes in >Ger between FK Season 1 and BH Season 3that some *cheesy* >explanations would be needed to explain the difference... Brenda's got a very good pt. Although I'd like to see FK back this gives the PTB a very good sword. At a recent get together-FK-Gerathon with some friends (whome I met thru fandom) We discussed the possibility of an FK spin off. Here it is" The hitch would be that Nick had found a way to be human, or partway (hence aging) and now he was helping other another struggling vampire looking for the cure & trying to find humanity. The context could stay the same if the new vampire was partnered to Nick by the now captain Tracy (hey her Dad is Commish, she know's Nick's secret, and it's been 4 yrs), OR (if must be) a diferent captin suseptible to the whammy. LC for all his anger continues to beat down hard on both via his RADIO show (if they didn't want to have him on camera too much). OR (as NB seems to be showing a bit of human aging too) perhaps if Nick got a complete cure then LC (as direct master) would involuntarily get a partial cure... which puts him in limbo - thus increasing his outrage. Their previous relationship could be explained thru a sereis of flashbacks. In other words the focus (as far as the network is concerned) of the show would move to a new young network-pleasing character. Nick, LC, Nat & Tracy, could stay and their roles could still be major so it becomes like an ensemble, not just the one main protagonist. With lots of advertising (let's face it marketing is EVERYTHING), some little stronger writing and better concept this could really sweep everywhere.. This is just my IMHO realistic $0.02, not meant to offend anyone. :) Rayne ------------------------------ End of FORKNI-L Digest - 11 Jan 2000 to 12 Jan 2000 (#2000-12) **************************************************************
