I guess I'm the RRCY Mom for "In Cyberspace." Yes, I'm keeping a list of
participants and we have up to part 18 called.

Part 15, by the way, should be part 14 in the header. It was an oops.

If you want to sign up for a part, please drop email to me.

I am a Knightie but I agree, his hair has looked much better. Maybe Ger
hates the hair stylist. I had a great vision of Ger being pursued
unsuccessfully by the hair guy/gal throughout the second half of the third
season. Maybe they spend so much time doing Ben Bass' hair extension
there's no time left for any of the other cast. ;-) Oh well, just a
thought. Comments anyone.

Re: ATV & FK

ATV (or whatever else it is called) just started airing the second season
here in the Atlantic Provinces (Canada). They'd been airing the first
season before that.

To tell you the truth, I was half hoping they'd repeat the 1st season. I
still hadn't gotten a good copy of "Dance by the Light of the Moon". But
since it isn't (IMHO) a great ep (except for the Janette stuff), I can
live with it. :)

ATV has been remarkably good about airing FK. The sort of channet fk
watchers hope for. An 11pm airtime. Late enough so that they don't feel
they have to censor (I'm still realing over b*itch being blocked out of
the WGN Highlander), but early enough so that you can get a good nights
sleep.

And then when specials come up (movies and baseball), they just postpone
the show and air it later. A bit jumbled, but they don't have to air it
to a specific time schedule.

RE: fkwarii & forkni-l

Just a short note. I was... surprised to get a 245k digest. Since I'm
sure that a lot of people have already commented, I'm just going to say
"I'm glad I cleaned out my mailbox recently."

----------------------
re: fkspoilr

Right now I'm still reeling over the revelation that the FK producers
have/had HARD COPY PRINTOUTS of the fkspoilr posts!

(Dawn frantically tries to figure out what she's posted there. It's the
list where she doesn't check her spelling and sometimes posts at 4am --
not a good time for coherent thought.)

Sure I knew they read it, but I figured the sheer volume would hide my
posts. I didn't think they made hard copies!

Oh well. They've probably been put through a shredder or into a recycling
bin by now (fingers crossed).

-----------------------
re: fkfic-l fiction

I'm just waiting for an explosion. No spoilers, but we're all aware that
this is (almost certainly) the last couple eps of fk.

Are we going to have another deluge of "Forever Not" fiction? I would't
mind. There were some great stories posted.

Yes. Vice Versa is great. But... It ended a bit abrubtly. How bout we
deluge Dianne with requests for a part 3?

re: fkfic-l and fkwar6/7

Oh Beloved Listowners?!?!?,
This poor, unemployed person wishes to know if there is another war
being planned?
:)

I'm a student just waiting for the fall school term to start up, and I
must confess to not searching hard for a job. I'm broke, but... I
haven't been unemployed since I was 16. It's interesting to wake up in
the morning and not have anywhere to go. I'd hate for it to continue for
long but I'm sort-of enjoying it right now.

So I've got of free time! Lots and lots!

I'm even thinking about joining a faction in the next war. I think the
Die-Hards have enough members to survive and thrive even if I leave.

But I can't figure out what affiliation to join. Any suggestions? Anyone
want to try and recruit me? I've got a decent imagination and decent
writing skills; valuable components in any war.

Any offers? (private or public email is fine).

Hi Carla,
I have been lurking but here goes. Having observed the various hair styles
of Nick over the three seasons I would say that yes, a vampire's hair does
grow and we also know that they can definately grow beards. Nick seemed
quite fond of the stubbly look at various times in both the 1st and 2nd
seasons. I would imagine that it would probably grow pretty slowly by
mortal standards.

Self-preservation? And hair is not *necessary* to their ability to survive?
(OK, *exist* is a more appropriate term, if you will.)

On another note... I was lurking for a while, and missed some things.
What's the LaCroix writing fanfic about us thingy? And, what is the Thong

Maybe that's the answer. Maybe everything regenerates quickly
including hair. That's why Nick and Vachon have such unruly
locks - no matter how much they trim or how often, it just
keeps growing back so darn fast.
Just picture: Nick gets a trim right before his shift starts
and by the end of the night, it's the tousled look we know so
well. After a while, he just keep it that way...especially since
some Knighties think it looks sexy - the "I'm-too-cool-to-keep-
trimming-my-hair-look." :)

I have also found other fans of FK at church. Two of the ladies who run the
Bingo game and the head of our parish school's PTG are big fans. My brother
and his Air Force buddies used to watch, but they all lost interest when
Janette left the show. Makes you wonder (more and more and more) what TPTB
were smoking when they made that decision.

I guess technically I shouldn't even make this statement, but I promised
myself I wouldn't say anything about a Certain Other Television Program until
I had watched at least one episode all the way through. I was bound and
determined to give it a fair shake. Well, I watched every minute last week,
and it's just awful. I had to tell somebody. (None of the other church
ladies could stomach a whole episode.) Sorry.

The new movie "Dead Man" starts today at the Gateway in San Francisco, Act
One/Act Two in Berkeley, Belmont Arts in Belmont, and Camera 1 in San Jose.
I have the review from the SF Chronicle here -- it's entitled "How the West
Was Weird: Jarmusch's 'Dead Man' plunges Depp into cockeyed, corrupt world."
The applicable paragraph of the review is:

Gary Farmer is extraordinary as Nobody, a wise and portly Indian who thinks
Depp's character is the real William Blake, the visionary poet/painter who
wrote, "Some are born to sweet delight. Some are born to endless night."

Tonight (Friday) it's showing at the Belmont Arts (100 El Camino Real,
Belmont, San Mateo County, California) at 7:15 and 9:45 pm. I think I have
the money to go, and the kids should be asleep by 9:45. If I go I'll have my
copy of "Forever Net" with me. Any other Scorpions (of which there are
probably none,) "Stonetreeites," Die-Hards or anybody else want to join me?

Oh, Laura had put up some sounds on her page from A More Permanent Hell a

Ok, this had probably been answered a billion million times on the list,

such-and-such a place? Just me behind the times cause I haven't kept up

PS: Although I would NOT recommend doing it again(=)), it was sorta
fortunate the whole War got posted to the list. I finnally figured out
what these Wars were by browsing through it...And silly me thought the
Wars were simply a mass production of FK fiction in a small time span,
with writers trying to outdo each other's more conservative FK-Fic. ;)

Hi there everyone -- I'm kinda new so bear with these questions that
have probably been asked a jillion times:

1- What's the phone, addr...whatever... for Crescendo? I love the tune from
QoH. For days aftr the episode I hummed and sang snatches of it. Does anyone
know the words?

2- What does IMHO mean? I admit I'm stumped.

3- Same vein (sorry, no pun): what's

4- Again: what is ROTFLMAO

Hey there everyone --

Poetry is a passion of mine and I tend to fit pieces of it to everyday life. I
didn't mean to start a riot (p.s. thanks for the fill-in on some of these
abbrevs) by waxing poetic.

However, before I can say it is really out of my system, here's another that
I feel illustrates the vampires' plight:

"Like a fiend in a cloud, With howling woe,
         After night I do crowd, And with night will go;
         I turn my back to the east, From whence comforts have increased;
For light doth seize my brain with frantic pain."
---William Blake, Mad Song, st. 3

Does anyone have any other quotes they think are appropriate for vampire
 discourse?
(Excluding the obvious Robert Frost: I Am Well Acquainted With the Night")

Yours in literary excellence (I may post to FKFIC soon),

Well all right!!! I'm glad to hear someone standing up for guys who like to
wear their hair long and mussed. I admit, mine's a mess, but it's got a mind
of its own.

And, hey, if every guy's hair was short and neat, it'd be a boring world, no?

Long live long hair!!!

I'm glad to hear someone else thinks Ger's hair has seen better days. I
don't know maybe it's just me but I think very few men can carry long hair.
Many it's jealousy on my part, guys with long hair always have the best hair.
I grow mine out and it goes frizz happy.

Hey Dawn! Become a Merc! :) We'd be happy to have you with us....

And I want to add a "me-too" to the request for info on when the next War
(6 or 7) will start. I've got moving plans to make, and if the War's going
to happen in the middle of them, I want to bow out early. No sense going
nuts about it if my computer won't be hooked up.

^^^^ Whoever it was that was threatening to unsub because of the
Wars--- you can set it to "NO WAR", and all of this happens on the Fiction
list. The recent mail snafu was no part of our usual silliness. Anyone who
doesn't want to participate or suffer through it doesn't have to.

What else...? ummmmm.....well. There was this other thought---oh!
right. Thanks to I think it was Cynthia? Who told me that $P IS to blame
for the mail weirdness. At least I won't be overhauling my software for
nothing!

***And the title of Dianne's piece of fiction is "Vice Versa II: Horrible
Mutant Daughter of Vice Versa". NO FICTION BY LACROIX actually appears in
this story; it's only referred to. I'm sorry if anyone got the impression
that it was contained in there. My fault.

Although I consider myself a Cousin, I have openly admitted that I do have
knightly leanings, therefor, I must defend everyone's favorite Brick
(sorry, my Cousinly tendencies are popping out...)

NC> What, exactly, is wrong with his hair?

While I will admit it is a bit too shaggy for my taste (face it, it kinda
reminds me of the Mike Rivers character he played on Airwolf), I must say that
I don't mind it. Nick has been through alot of difficulty this year. He's
been shot in the head, possessed, and lost his partner, Captain, & Immortal
Beloved. I don't think he's worried about the style or length of his hair.
You have to agree that it's a heck of alot better than the extensions in the
flashbacks.

For Reality's Sake: GER & co. were after all working under budget & a very
limited shooting schedule (I think someone said it was about 5-6 days to shoot
an ep compared to 8-9 days at the beginning of the season) which would amount
to working under a heavy amount of stress. Give em' a break! Ger's hair at
Shrew was just as shaggy and I don't know if it was his choice to keep it that
way or if he has been too busy not to get a trim...From what he said, he hasn't
slowed down since the show ended.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong...
