We have NO INFORMATION that the cast and crew don't want a fourth season. In fact, all the inside information that's drifted past my ears has indicated that they are very interested, providing that adequate funding can be arranged -- and considering what we have done so far, this is not outside the realm of possibility. The contracts have been held until June. This is DONE. Nothing we can do right now will change that. Our momentum has built, and the media is beginning to take note. What shall we tell these journalists who inquire about our efforts? "Oh, no, we've changed our minds"? Never mind the fact that this would make us look ridiculous; that doesn't matter. Discontinuing our efforts now would make THE CAST AND CREW look like laughingstocks! After all the work we've done, and after all the charity donations we've made in their names, this would be CRIMINAL. We are doing this because we BELIEVE in the show, and we BELIEVE in the people who work on it. Have we now decided that we no longer believe? Keep the faith. -- KEEP THE FAITH! The response of people there has been less than energenic; the forum's inhabitants are more Trek- and B5-oriented, anyway. Still, every little bit helps. I've asked the sysop to highlight the new FAQ in the daily "forum flash" that pops up when users enter the forum. A question about the Sony receipts: Are these needed ASAP (i.e. via overnight mail) or is it OK to send it via snail mail? In a couple of hours, I am boarding a plane for Los Angeles so that I can do the first turnover of funds raised by us in honor of this show, and as part of the effort to save it. I'm really proud of the efforts we've made so far. But more importantly, I'd really like to feel as though when I do that turnover tomorrow, I'm doing it as part of this group effort, and that the group continues to support the project. In other words, I totally disagree with Lupino, and am in agreement with Susan and Sharon and Jamie. If contracts are now being held, they are being held. In my opinion, this is a GOOD thing. Please guys, continue to support this effort at least as far as the charity drive is concerned. I want to continue to believe that I go to LA as a representative of ALL OF US. And right now I'm feeling a bit like I'm heading there alone instead. I can't speak for everyone else on the lists, but I for one still believe in Forever Knight. We have been granted the blessing of a complete third season and the opportunity to work for a fourth season. None of the cast and crew of Forever Knight have told us that they do not want a fourth season. Concern has been expressed at the possibility that the show will be under-funded and they will be unable to provide as high a quality as before. This concerns me too. However, IMHO, if we can convince TPTB that there is enough demand for Forever Knight for it to be financially worthwhile for them to continue to produce the show, then TPTB will start looking at ways to finance the show. I agree with Jamie, Susan and Sharon. We have accomplished some wonderful things in this campaign through donations to the Pediatric Aids charity and blood drives. If you do not want to write any more letters, or make any more telephone calls, fine. But don't stop donating. IMHO, we cannot stop now. The campaign to save Forever Knight is well underway. Stopping it now will cause more damage than good -- to us, to the cast and crew of Forever Knight, and to anyone in the future who works to save a TV show in danger of cancellation. Someone just e-mailed me about the FK home page and asked what was the name of the poem that was quoted in Black Buddha 2? Who was the orignal author? Anyone have a clue? I can't remember and I don't have a copy of the tape to go back and watch to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. I was not aware of the rules and regs about discussing personal mat- ters of cast and crew. Even though I was unaware of this, I felt that the V&V post was inappropriate. Kudos to Jaye for handling the situation in what I think was the only way possible. Now. I agree that we should continue our rescue efforts _at least_ until NATPE is over. Moreover, if someone thinks that some of the cast and crew don't want a fourth season, why don't we ask *them*? Mr. Bennett? Are you out there? Would you _want_ to do season 4? If any other cast members read this, ditto? Crew? Does some medically-oriented person out there know what the rules on donating blood are for someone who has recently (within 8 months) gotten a tattoo? I'd like to donate blood, but I'm afraid my recent act of self- mutilation may bar me. :( I seem to remember something saying I have to wait a year. If this is so, as soon as I can, I'll troop down to my local blood bank and donate. Even though I HATE needles. ;) That's what you get for taking allergy shots for seven years. ObFK -- SOS -- I need help. I have a night job, and can't tape FK's most recent eps. Can someone be nice and get in touch with me about getting copies of "Strings" and "Hearts of Darkness"? Also, I'll need someone to tape "Human Factor" if it ever airs. Please e-mail me at my private address. Thanks to all of you. Pat -- the Lone Nanette P.S. Here's a resolution, since I broke the one about smoking. If we get a fourth season, I'll join the Perkulators -- and I'll (gulp) enjoy it. I think that will make me the only Nanette/FoD/Perkulator. I believe that there has been plenty of opportunity for someone, anyone to step forward and politely say, "please stop, its not what we want,or not in our best interests" But so far, no one has done this. Nigel Bennett has access to this list, JP has AOL. Last night Nicholas Gray and Gillian Horvath were present at the FK AOl Virtual Party. Many people here from what I gather have at least a casual or professional relationship with some of the people listed above and if they wished for us to stop,it could very easily be done. And until someone does come forward and asks me to stop, I will continue for what I want. I don't think thats being selfish, because as far as I know at this place and time, I am not harming anyone. To LISA C: Lisa, its my feeling that right now its the old cliche of "Its not whether you win or lose, its how you play the game" Whether or not we get a 4th season, I can walk away knowing that I played fair and along the way a lot of help was given to people who really needed it and a lot of days were brightened. So if I have taken the joy that FK has given me and passed it along in the way of charity or blood drives and if it means that I had to count my pennies in order to do so,then I'm happy and I hope that you are too, because if nothing else, the people that I have met here, the wonderful things that have been produced all make me feel as if I've already won.
