The thing I like about it was that the Vampires in the
show were "mainly" the only supernatural characters on
the show. Blood ties, has demons and zombies and all
sort if IKY things. I liked that the work Nick was
doing was to Help humans. Vicky in the PI and Henry
helps her. Vicky's Ex is the cop. It's a different
sort of feel to it.

No, Blood Ties is based on Tanya Huff's "Blood" books, so it's not in any
way an FK remake. There are some things, however, that remind me of
FK in some small way
The reference to the "New Show" is to MOONLIGHT, the vampire PI show that
will be airing on
CBS in the fall. Not BLOOD TIES that just finished it's first season on
Lifetime here in the states.

Yes, I believe the original thread did reference Moonlight, but the
post regarding the show being a possible "FK remake" that inspired my
comment WAS in reference to Blood Ties and the scene from last
week's episode that invited comparison to the popcorn scene in False
Witness and the feeding discussion in the morgue in Francesca. Since
this thread is beginning to veer off topic, I'll stop with any
further analysis of similarities/differences between Blood Ties and
FK.
Regarding Moonlight, I'll be curious to see how it plays out and
if it there will be any similarities to FK. I've seen the promotional
clip for the show and I'll certainly check it out, if for no other
reason out of sheer curiosity, but I'm not sure that it's something
that will really draw me in the way FK -- and now Blood Ties --
sucked me in (pardon the bad pun, couldn't resist <g>). The new
character's ambivalence about being a vampire -- at least that's how
it comes across in the clips I've seen -- does appears to reflect
Nick's state of mind about being a vampire, which I'm sure will lead
to eventual comparisons with FK.
I remember a discussion some time back on the list about whether
folks would be interested in seeing FK return in a new incarnation
with a different cast. I've come to realize that any new version of
FK, whether it be an actual FK remake with new actors or a new show
that closely parallels FK, would almost certainly fail to capture my
attention since I would inevitably and hopelessly dissect it,
critique it, and compare it to FK -- and once you've had the real
thing, nothing else compares! At least for me it wouldn't.
But that's just my two cents. <bg>
