I am one of those that liked the ending. I have read
many "alternate" ending eps and many of them are
great. I think what has most people stumped is not
that it ended this way, but ended far too soon. I
think that maybe we would be more accepting of Last
Knight if it had been aired in season 7 as opposed to
season 3. By the volume of the fanfic it is pretty
obvious that a lot of people feel that FK had more
stories to tell. That is the sign of a great series.

Is anyone here planning to attend DragonCon this year?
This will be my first year there and I'd love to meet
up with other FK fans who'll be there. I'd also like
to know if there might be any kind of FK-related event
or booth or whatever that might be planned but not yet
listed on the DragonCon site.

I won't be attendoing but my son and his band will be doing a parody on Star
Wars called AreoSeth. Watch for him.
I just wish I could get him to do something for Forever KNight. Maybe next
year. [just staying on topic!}

I agree with waiting to watch FK.

I had forgotten a lot of the eps, so it was like watching the show fresh all
over again. And I have a hard time convincing folks to watch this show. It's
pretty easy to convince the hard core vampire LARPers to watch it. But it's
hard to convince folks that do not even watch Buffy or Angel.

What I found interesting about Forever Knight was the difference in the
genders. I had all ways gone to the Visions con in Chicago because I was a big
DR WHO and Red Dwarf fan. But when the con finally brought in Nigel, I was
shocked to be one of the few guys in attendance. What is it about FK that so
appeals to women? 12 years later I still do not know.

I think people are more open to shows like Forever Knight today.
I also think the sales of the DVDs will have an impact on what
happens to Forever Knight.

But do the actors want to do a FK show?

Honestly, I would like a show about LaCroix in Rome. I would like to see a
story develop his back history in depth -- a historic vampire show.

Cheers,

Brian

Thank you. Exactly.

Forever Knight may have had a good ending for those who like tragedy or
those who saw it primarily as a tragic romance. Frankly, for me there's
just too darn much tragedy in the real world these days. Besides, if
something is going to be a tragedy, shouldn't there be some useful point to
the tragedy? Wasn't the point of Romeo and Juliet that the death of these
two young people was brought about because of their families' feud? Their
own families contributed to the death of children they loved.

I think it's more than just appealing to women. My husband loves the shows
and the character/actors we've met. He is always remarking about the great
writing in the show. I think that's it's main draw.

I loved that probably more than any of his other monologues, though he
always does have a way with words ^_^ . But in that ep, he was speaking
from the POV of a father who was losing his most-beloved "child", which
gives it even more weight.
I have to wonder how LaCroix would go on without Nick. . . which would
be a really good spinoff in itself. . . like an FK sequel that gets into
LC's head and explores his life, emotions, and motives the way FK did for
Nick. It would be interesting to see how quickly something like that might
change people's opinions on the character, the same way FK made us
sympathetic to Nick despite the atrocities committed in his past. LC
probably saw himself as being a good "parent", and felt justified in all he
did because he was doing what he thought was best for his "child".
