This Toronto Star article made me think of FK in 2
ways:

1 - Nick sleeping so soundly, Nat gets him on her
table again.

2 - Nat getting a real 'live one'

"Sound sleeper, 87, gets moved to morgue"

I work PT in a women's clothing store, and tonight a
woman came in and bought our shoe called "Parisian".
Her name was Jeannette, and the amount of her total
purchase (including some clothing): $122.80

Hi-
First I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone who sent
birthday wishes to me. They were really nice. Thanks!!!

Ok, now to the real message....
The other day I was thinking about Nick Knight vs. FK and I began
wondering what the dynamics would have been if the coroner character
had stayed male. I know they changed it to add some romance and
such, but I began wondering if maybe Nick would not have strayed as
much. I know and am not dismissing that he wanted to become mortal,
but there wouldn't have been the specific draw towards a love
interest.
Would he have been closer to Janette?
I'm not sure exactly what my thoughts are. I am still mulling it
over. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I liked the character of Jerry in Nick Knight, but if you left him
in place it would "unbalance" the show. You would have Janette alone
as the only female in a cast of 4 men (Nick, Schanke, Jerry, LaCroix
or a male police Captain).
It could work - Seinfield and The Drew Carey show are two examples
of unbalanced shows that still function - but I think it limits the
show dramatically.
The coronor could be male... but I think I would then want the
partner character to be female. What if Ms. Disher had been cast as
the partner up front? Either playing a character similar to Natalie
or - potentially more amusing - a more street-wise character similar
to Schanke? I like the character of Faith Yokos that Molly Price
plays on 3rd Watch. Like that character - but perhaps without some
of the hard edges - would have been an interesting foil for Nick.

I now have an image I now can't shake of a mythical scene in the 1st
episode where Nick is taking to his new partner on the phone. It is
obvious that Natalie is distracted and having trouble talking and
Nick's assumptions as to what she is doing are headed into the gutter
(followed closely by the viewers). Cut to Natalie who is perched in
front of her TV watching professional curling, munching on take-out
chicken and dressed in her moose-jammies with her hair up in curlers
and face coated in make-up mud.

I've been more than a little ill so can't think well enough to do a good
essay on the subject, but my first thought was "Man, would have have added an
entire new dimension to slash fan fiction!"
