It's one of my favorite's as well-- it's in my file of things I go back and
read when I'm feeling down. (Although I beleive it was a cafe, and the issue at
stake was the amount of garlic in the food.)
You can find it on Amy R.'s page at
http://users.lmi.net/akr/fk/recommen/index.htm, month of October.

There was quite a bit of fanfic on this at the time of the first broadcast. I
think there may also have been a challenge contest. My favorite is one by
Celeste Hotaling-Lyon in which "Hastings" turned out to be a pub where Nick and
Aristotle had been involved in a bar fight. :)

Subject: New webpages on the FK sets

I've just finished adding two new pages to the Sets section of my
website -- thanks especially to Nancy Taylor for service above and
beyond, doing lots of lovely screen captures for me.
Now up are the page for LaCroix's study, and the page for
Natalie's apartment. The former is, of course, a new set -- one that
I invented for Season IV. So I had to use a bit of ingenuity to find
illustrations for it. Natalie's apartment only appeared in a handful
of episodes in Season II; but enough got filmed to make out a fair
amount of detail.
The url for the site is:
        http://ca.geocities.com/gwatson2@r......./index.html
For those who haven't visited it yet, when you get to the main page
(two clicks in), go to "Sets".

Subject: Pompeii: The Last Day

This new show airs on Sunday on the Discovery Channel:

"Pompeii: The Last Day

On August 24, 79, Mount Vesuvius showered the city of Pompeii with ash,
smoke and rock. The city lay undisturbed under volcanic debris for more
than 1,500 years. Follow a compelling account of the city's final 24 hours,
based on the buried evidence."

The website has more info on the show and interactive displays on Pompeii:
http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/pompeii/pompeii.html

Somehow, I doubt any of the information is on a certain Roman General <g>
