To all FORKNI-L/FKFIC-L readers and war participants:

As McLisa has announced, FK War 12 officially starts on November 8. The
opening post, written by me, will start the ball rolling. From there
on, it's a free-for-all---let the fun begin!

The war starts at 12:01 am November 8. The war opener will drop shortly
after 12:01 am CST (or in about an hour and a half).

Subject: Season Four - Skip Week

Since a lot of people are going to be involved in War XII for the next
couple of weeks (and others will be reading the War posts, even if they
aren't taking part personally), I think it's reasonable to have a couple
of skip weeks at this point.  Your regularly scheduled television has
been pre-empted for a special.  Happens all the time.  Though usually
it's a movie, an awards ceremony, or a holiday special.  This time it's
War.
    Episode Eight (FK408) will be posted on Monday, 22 November.

A number of war posts have dropped this morning showing the dreaded =20
disease. That means you composed them using html/rich text, which is
not allowed by the PSU server.

Mine WAS posted using plain text, something I've done enough times throughout
the years to have it firmly pounded into my head. So I have no idea what
happened to the Ratpack post - I have had this happen occasionally while using plain
text despite my best efforts.

I think the list hamsters are jealous of all the ratsies!

My guess is that you can blame AOL. I've noticed that AOL users have a
harder time with this than people who use other providers. Not being
one of their customers, I can only suggest that you double-check the
email settings and make sure it's not adding formatting to your posts.
