War: After Monday morning, talk about the upcoming war will need to have war:
as the first word in the subject line, followed by a colon. The colon is
vital. It tells the listserv that war is a topic. Only people who are set for the
war topic will get those posts. By default, all subscribers are set -war (that
is, nowar). If you want war: posts, send a message to "listserv@lists.psu.edu,
with the command set forkni-l topics:+war" Don't use the quotations marks. I
recommend cut and paste. If you have trouble making this work, please let me
know, and I can set it for you. -- McLisa, mclisa@m.......

Subject: Admin: War posts go to war:topic after Sunday
After tomorrow morning, Monday, July 26th, talk about the upcoming war will
need to have war: as the first word in the subject line, followed by a colon.
The colon is vital. It tells the listserv that war is a topic. Only people who
are set for the war topic will get those posts.
By default, all subscribers are set -war (that is, nowar). If you want war:
posts, send a message to "listserv@lists.psu.edu, with the command set forkni-l
topics:+war" Don't use the quotations marks. I recommend cut and paste. If you
have trouble making this work, please let me know, and I can set it for you.
Note: if you're on digest, you get all posts to Forkni-l, including war:. This
is a listserv feature which we can't change. I'm sorry.
I make allowances for people who post about the war without the war: subject
line because they haven't seen this post yet. I also make allowances for
mistakes.

Subject: Fanzine--Season of Change--Deborah A. Hymon
Hi, Everyone.
Iıve had requests for bound and signed copies of my story, Season of Change.
Iım in the process of doing this. Iıve spent time editing, and adding a few
scenes, so the published copy will be different than the original. The book
is in paperback form, consisting of 198 pages, with a professional looking
color cover. The cost is $13 (US) plus shipping.
Iım sorry for the cost, but please know that Iım not making a profit on this
book. I do not own the rights of the characters or anything pertaining to
Forever Knight. This book was produced at the requests by fans, and for the
purpose of sharing the story. The cost is exactly what the publisher is
charging me.
Iım taking requests from people who would like a copy. So far there have
been 49 orders. Iım pre-purchasing the books, signing the ones requested,
and mailing them. I need to know how many to have published. Please do not
request a copy unless you intend to purchase. This will probably be a one
time offer. The book will not be offered on my web sites. If youıre
interested in purchasing a copy, please email me OFF LIST at:

Subject: Schanke's polka
Hey -
I know there was a discussion a bit back about what polka Schanke was
listening to during the crash scene in DK1 -
I was going through my dad's mp3 files looking for another song (he
has an entire computer devoted to ALL kinds of music) and I cam
across a whole Polka folder. So I started listening to them...
I am almost positive that the song Shanke was listening to was
"Pennsylvania Polka" I have a instrumental version and a version
sung by Bobby Vinton. If anyone wants to hear it I can send it to
you or if I gat enough requests I can put it on my site.
Let me know....
-Amanda

Posted with permission.
It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know of the passing of Andi
Trevellyan, a good friend and fellow FK fan. Andi was not a member of
FORKNI, but she had met many of us at Gertherings, FKinSD, on Marg's tour
and at a good number of Ger's performances. She recently told me she had
plans to meet with other Ger fans at one of his shows in October. Andi was a
young, vibrant woman and her loss leaves a hole in the lives of many.

If any of you would like to send a message to her family, please send it to
me off list at clouddancer@c....... and I will forward it as soon as
possible.

Subject: Re: Schanke's polka
I watched the movie 'Groundhog Day' with my daughter the other day, and I was
SURE the polka they were playing in the background was 'Schanke's polka'.
Anyone else think it's the same one?

I tried this one:

It doesn't work.

Subject: Reflections about reflections
Someone asked about wheather nickhad a reflection
Awille back someone sent this out
(Which I happened to hold on to)
----- Original Message -----
Subject: Re: mirrior image
The whole thing had to do with silver-- it wasn't that they didn't cast a
reflection at all, just not in mirrors. Silver was supposed to be anathma to
all things evil or supernatural (not just werewolves), and since early mirrors
were either a highly polished silver plate or glass with a silver backing
(because polished silver gives a good reflection), vampires didn't cast a
reflection because the silver rejected the image. Modern mirrors are more
commonly backed with aluminum, which one could take to mean that even if the
no-reflection thing were true, it wouldn't apply any more except for old or
expensive mirrors that still used silver. Of course, this is all dredged up
from an artical I read years and years ago, and I may be entirely wrong.
Assuming, tho, that it *did* work like that-- can you imagine Janette's
reaction
when they started making aluminum-backed mirrors? <G> Or if one of them were
to walk into an old house that had a mix of silver and aluminum mirrors? You'd
get a reflection in only some of them. (Now *that* would be interesting to see
Nick talk his way out of!)
It depends on which vampire mythos you are using

Well, he did get to appear briefly for a bit of exposition in a later ep, so
I guess the reality of the nap does mesh with the 'reality' of canon.
