Subject: picking sides
I wish to join a side for the war. My annoying sister, Megan, has already
taken my faction of choice (mercs) so is there anyone else out there who's
looking for someone? (UF, Nunkees, and Merc's need not apply.) Please let
me know how to join the faction's list. Please respond off list. Thanks!

Hi, I'm currently building a website dedicated to dear Don Schanke. I want

FK couldn't make up it's mind about reflections in the earlier part of the
show, and seemed to give up and forget about them in the later seasons.
(Sigh - continuity - what's that?) The rare blood virus came from a lab rat
via Screed - Divia (not Diva) caused insanity which led to death - cause
unknown. It could have been a blood virus, it could just have been direct
blood transfer, or some other unspecified manner. And since first LC and
then NK decapitated Divia, that can also be listed as a way of killing a
vampire in the FK universe.

LC also decapitated Divia when he first killed her after 25 (unsure of
amount) years of the eruption of Pompeii, in a flashback. I believe they
were visiting Divia's master's tomb when LC realized what his daughter
turned into (An evil child?).

It might be fun to toss some of them out onlist as a starting point for
discussion. We can even try to recall which stories certain elements

I dug out the tape last night.
Jordan is carrying an M-16 rifle - which was introduced during the
Vietnam war - and is wearing fatiques and a helmet from the Vietnam
era.
Someone in the last few days said that Jordan calls Joe "little
brother". That is not the case in the version I watched last night.
The phrase used was "little joe".
I am not fully convinced that Jordan was Reese's brother. It is
obvious that the two men were close...but that could also cover a
cousin or a close childhood friend. I don't hear the sort of
emotion in Reese's voice that I would expect from seeing his brother.
I also have doubts about whether it is necessarily true that Reese
served in Vietnam. He might have. But - based on this one episode -
I don't see real conclusive proof.

The stories are actually posted to FKFIC-L's war topic, as I recall. Not

Not knowing anything of military paraphanalia I had no way of knowing this.
To me a gun is a gun and fatigues all look the same to me (unless they're
different colors). And as McLisa said TPTB weren't exactly known for their
accuracy when it came to plot or props.
I was just pointing out that there was more than one "war" that occured
during Reese's lifetime in which he could of had a relative/friend (that
would have called him "little Joe" ) killed.

Last character listed in the end credits is a "Jimmy Reese". I am assuming
this is the eps "Jordan". So, at the least, the character was a relative.
>I don't hear the sort of
>emotion in Reese's voice that I would expect from seeing his brother.
What I saw was a man in shock. Thats how I'd be if someone I thought was 25
years dead suddenly showed up and then turned around and walked through a
door. And I believe in ghosts/spirits. <g> The emotion was shown in that
very last scene where Joe is holding "Jordan" picture.

Yep, Libby's right. Both lists have a war: topic, but the actual war: fiction
posts go to Fkfic-l. On Forkni-l, war: is established to keep listers who don't
war discussions and preparations from getting them. Forkni-l war posts will
go to the war: topic on Monday. Don't worry, I'll post instructions to be sure
everyone sees how to to that and I promise not to yell at any mistake-makers.
:) Stayed tuned -- Don and I have agreed that we're up for a war and I'll be

I'm having problems with this, too. I think it must be a matter of how to
individual mailer handles reply or reply all. Then again, maybe the list
hampsters have been out partying with the Rat Pack again. :)
>I thought the war topic was for the actual war posts? Of course it has

Both lists have a war: topic. The actual fiction posts go to Fkfic-l under
war:. Discussion and general planning go to Forkni-l under war:. In case
anyone's not sure, you need to be subbed to Fkfic- to get the war posts. You
can have your options set up so that you don't get any other Fkfic-l posts
except for the rules every week.
>Is there a specific war list? I didn't think there was, but I haven't been

There isn't a war list that's on PSU. Often the WM sets up one one on a free
server for the faction leaders, and the factions often set them up for their own
planning.

Actually it's a war: topic on both lists. I realize this hasn't come up in a
long time, but in situations like this, the procedure is to ask me, McLisa, if
something like this can be done. I'm planning to have this done on Monday. The

One ep that hasn't been mentioned on this subject is _Dark Knight_, where LC
states:"....And the third way to kill a vampire -- DE-CA-PI-TA-TION!"

Subject: Admin: Request for war proposals
The war clouds are gathering. Don and I are now asking for proposed war
scenarios from listmembers who want to be Warmistress/Warmaster. Please tell
us -- OFF LIST -- the basis for your war and any special features. It's become
customary for the WM to be anonymous and if you post to the lists, you won't
be. :) I'll gave a sample of what I mean below.
Please NOTE: Don and I reserve the right not to choose any scenario even if
this means we have to put out another call. We hope this won't be necessary and
please, please anyone who isn't chosen, don't take it personally. We're going
to consider all submissions and maybe if yours isn't the choice at this time,
it might be at another.
Proposals can sent in any time after this announcement hits the list, until
12:01 am (i.e. a minute after midnight) August 1, Central Standard Time in North
America.
Sample war proposal:
After nearly 10 years off the air, the characters develop amnesia and start
making appearances in the real world. The factions rally round to get them back
into the FK universe, no matter how much they object. Special feature: drunken
list hampsters throw curve balls by making changes in the FK universe which then
have to be reversed. The list hampsters are controlled and played by the WM.
Ok, ready, set, go!

One more thing. (I got cut off by a power outage just as I was about to
mail this.)
Re reflections.
I always thought it was interesting that Nick's reflection did not show up
in the mirror in the boudoir scene when he was playing the vampire game.
that seems to suggest to my mind that by this time the writers had decided
that the notion that Vampires have no reflection is pure superstition.
But in Blackwing when when Marion looks in the mirror her reflection looks
like she is looking at herself through a fog of steam

Divia drove him crazy, Tracy staked him, at his demand, and then buried him,
I believe, near where Screed is taking his nap.
BTW, always was, and always will be a Vaquera, but there's the odd Ratpacker
tendency.
