Forever Peter Rabbit:
He was brought across one night when Screed was drunk,
Preyed on chickens for their eggs.
Now he wants to be mortal again,
To repay society for his sins,
To emerge from darkness and his endless, forever baskets.
--Oops, guess McLisa shouldn't have had that second glass of wine for Easter
dinner. :)

Hi, Gang ~

Thanks to Marla Kaye, I got to see the play last week, and I was absolutely
blown away by Ger's stage presence. NOW I understand what everyone was
talking about when they said, "You've GOT to see him on stage. He's simply
incredible." Attention, everybody who told me that: You were right!

It was my first visit to New York City, but I had no interest whatsoever in
seeing the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, etc. I was there
to visit Marla, and to see Ger in the play. Anything else was just icing
on the cake. I did enjoy schlepping around in Times Square. At the Port
Authority, I shared my pretzel with a pleasant homeless guy, and bought some
souvenirs. And I did spend a lot of time on Sunday walking up and down
Madison Avenue - but that was strictly medicinal - it replaced the physical
therapy I was missing. {Besides, all the little shops were adorable!}.

With my "bad photographer's curse" working, I did not get any good pictures.
I took the pricey camera, and I took along the good film. Unfortunately, the
pricey camera decided to BREAK just as Ger lined up with all of the fans after
the play. The pricey, deceptive camera clicked just as if it were doing its
job, taking pictures, fooling me into thinking that we were going to have
wonderful photos. Only when we took the film in for processing did we learn
of the camera's treachery. I want this camera prosecuted! I want charges to
be filed, prison time to be served at camera prison! <sniff, sniff>

And Ger was, as always, totally charming. Even though his parents were there,
waiting for him, he took a little time to visit with us, pose for pictures
{THAT WERE NOT BEING TAKEN, DAMMIT}, and joke a little. In fact, Ger's mom
was sweet enough to stand in for one of the photos {AAAARRRGGGHHH!}. Then Ger
and his mom and dad left, and the rest of us nearly froze our fannies off
trying to get a cab. But we didn't mind, because we were all so happy about
getting such great photos. <sob> Can you tell I'm really not taking the
whole broken camera thing very well? Wonder what would happen if I spilled
Coca-Cola on it... No, no, just kidding. I know, gotta move past it....

Anyway, I'm writing a review of King Lear. I'm also collecting reviews of
the play from other people, in order to create a webpage of reviews. If you
would like to contribute, please polish up a couple of paragraphs {or just a
few lines} and send them to me at tsigili@e........

Oh, and if you have any good Lear-related photos you'd like to share, please
let me know.  I'll put those up on the webpage {crediting you as photographer}
and wrap the review text around them.

Looking forward to receiving your comments!

Sami

Thanks for sharing your experience about seeing Lear and meeting Ger. I'm so
sorry your camera failed you. I've been there and its frustrating. Most of my
digitals of Ger are very dark and semi developed...like it smeared or didn't
have enough light to see the images. The one I have of him and I from my Fair
Lady he has his eyes closed :).

I hope I do get to see him again one day. Thanks again Sami for sharing.

Jeannie
