My father's '67 Caddy (just as huge as Nick's, but without the fins, durn
it) gets a whopping 6 miles to the gallon. They ain't known as "land yachts"
for nothin'! Nick's, being a convertible, likely weighs... oh.... say a hundred
pounds less than my Dad's sedan. But at best, Nick's boat will probably get 8
mpg in town and 9 or 10 on the highway.

For our Muslim members, the feast of Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan, is
being celebrated this week. For those of us in the United States, Thursday
is Thanksgiving Day. I wish all of us who are celebrating a happy and
joyful holiday, and to all of us, a safe and pleasant week.

That's better than Italy. It is about 2 Euros in Milan. I have a
friend there who tells me to rent a car the next time I come to Italy
and I tell him no way do I want to pay that much for gas. We are so
spoiled in the US. Although, even at 10 miles to the gallon I miss the
caddy my husband had. He had one just like Nick's. Even the right
year. It was stolen and stripped. I wish I had LaCroix with me when the
police found it! I would gladly let him have the thieves as a snack!

Apparently threats to discontinue patronage and telling others about the
experience was enough. Today, my mailman /chased me down/ to make sure I
got my DVDs today. And Barnes & Noble corrected the charges on my credit
card.

It only took a stupid month to get the silly things.

But I got them. Thanks to everyone for their support. Now going back to
lurkdom.

Imagine what Nick would do. I remeber one FanFic where the Caddy was stolen
and he went ballistic! (I think it was one of the V4S stories) and when it
was returned to him, it was painted pink (ohmigod;)

If some of the readers were confused by the exchange rate: you would have to
pay 1.31 USD to get one Euro, so a litre (about 1/3 of a gallon) of gas is
about $1.40 in Germany. Yes, and France and Italy are worse. That is why we
love our small cars without any sensible trunk space;)

Subject: 'Atomic Mouse #3' with FK parody rescheduled

The 'Atomic Mouse' issue (#3) with the FK parody ran into some production
troubles and thus will be resolicited. That means that it will have to be
re-listed in "Previews," the catalog from which comic book stores order.

It is rescheduled for March 2003. I'm not quite sure when it will be relisted
in Previews, but my guess is in next month's issue.

Those of you who have pre-ordered from comic stores might want to check with
them on their policies. Some will go ahead and keep your name on a reserve
list, whereas you may need to reorder with others.

Thanks!

I was looking forward to it being out about the time of the FK DVDs, but
guess it isn't gonna happen.

Well, WOOHOO, and good for you :o)

I was rooting for you here in my mostly lurdom <g>; I am really glad you got
them and that your charges were straightened out. Hopefully, you sharing this
with us will prevent something similar happening to someone else; just hope
it never happens to you again!!
