It is King's Pawn. A pretty good tale. It can be found the fkfanfic.com
archives.

I think she ripped off her sleeve. But whatever.

Why can I remember all of this, and not the author or title?? Geesh!

The story is called blood thirst and written by Russet McMillian. Its on his
web site:

I really liked the story so I had bookmarked it.

Susan, you're right, that's it!

Yes--it's Blood Thirt. And the author left it
beautifully open for a sequel...

All this talk and now i really want to read this story. i looked for the
Marion Gibbons one, but couldn't find it. i'm on digest so hopefully
somebody's come up with it by now. Is the FTP site still accessible? i had
two links to it, but couldn't get there.

That sounds a lot like BloodThirst, by Russett McMillan.
Nick, Nat, Schank, Janette, LaCroix, garlic, crosses, imprisonment, and
starvation; all the good stuff.
It's available at fkfanfic.com, and it's one of my very favorites.

Okay... what was the guy's name in 'Dead Issue' that was a friend of
Stonetree's and was super overbearing with his wife? I *think* it was Inspector
Feore, but I'm not sure.

That's it! Thank you.
I have a copy, but a section towards the beginning is missing. If
anyone has a complete copy I'd love it.

YES! she yelled again, this time for the correct story title. This is
it, not "King's Pawn," Although I've read that one, too.

Russet McMillan is a really good writer. I've read some of her
Highlander stuff---and now I see she's done Dr. Who and Quantum Leap,
too. Thanks for hte bookmark---I see I have some reading ahead of me.

And now back to finishing that belated Conversion Day story...

I don't know if it's spelled right, because I don't
remember either, but yes, it was Feori (sp?)

see Ger's lovely chest and arm muscles in that

One question. Did you want quotes that represent the core of the character?
Or represent the character's place within the show? Like, do you want
something about Schanke as Nick's friend, partner, and mortal touchstone or
Schanke as donut-lovin' Don, homicide detective?

And, I know you only asked for First Season quotes, but it seems a shame to
leave out the others:

Vachon: about why he ran from his responsibilities - "I was young. There
was a world out there!" (BB2)
-or- when Tracy comes to him for help - "So, what is this? Any time
anything weird happens, you call on your supernatural chum Vachon?" (LNMTA)

Tracy: when Reece offers her some chocolate - "No thanks. My father
says...." (BB2)

Urs: "I asked you to kill me, to help me end what I couldn't bear for
another minute, and instead you gave me forever -- *forever*." (HoD)

Screed: talking about the first kill - "Got me fangs into a squealer that
night ... the rest is history." (Fever)

Yes, I want quotes that represent the key traits of the characters. I am
trying to narrow it down to one per character.

I am planning to do one specifically for Schanke and also one that ties into
Nick and Schanke's relationship. The same goes for Nick/LC, NN, and N/J. I
have some good ideas so far, but I am open to suggestions, especially for
Schanke. "Man-oh-man" as his main quote seems too simple. The quotes do need
to be from season 1. This video is only focusing on the main characters from
this season.

I am making this video from the footage in the season 1 DVD set and I plan
to do one for season 2 and probably season 3 when they come out. :)
