Okay, I've just discovered this online fandom thing,
and in surfing the net, I've found references to
"wars". What I've been able to find looks like fun,
and I was wondering--do they ever still go on and
stuff?

I've given you enough information to pick up the magazine at your local
library or your supermarket checkout stand and find the photo.

To scan in the photo would be illegal.

Yes they do. But they are very time consuming, especially for the list owner,
so she has said "not this year." However, stay tuned as there will be one
sooner or later!

I sincerely hope not. At $30 I planned to by myself a copy and one or two as
presents. At $80 I doubt I'd be able to buy any.

Well, we don't have to go to the library. Here is a link to a picture.
It is an acrobat file so you need adobe acrobat to see it. I will look
for another picture that is not an acrobat file.

I didn't know Nigel was doing a play. Where? What is it? I can't remember
hearing of him doing any other plays.

I wish I could be there to see Ger's play this year. I might even have gone
to see Nigel. I do like him, but Ger's my favorite, along with Catherine.

I pre-ordered a set from Amazon at $29.95. If they raise the price to
$79.95, I am not going to buy it either. $240.00 for the whole series is a
whole lot more than I care to spend. :o(

Man, if I had known that, I would have tried to go. I am low on
funds due to my other vacation, but I could have swumg a weekend
trip. Wow - it would have been two in one shot - Ger and Nigel!

Forkni-l has its rules, and here they are.
Just be glad there aren't 1228 of them. :)
It only seems that way sometimes.

Let's give Amazon.com some "pre-orders" and "Reviews." </snip>

I don't mean to be a punctuation nazi (except I guess in this case I am),
but I hope you meant that we really should give Amazon pre-orders and
Reviews. When I see quotations like that I always wonder if the person is
just emphasizing the word, or if they're trying to be sarcastic or ironic.
I'm one of those people who, if they see a sign that says: "Fresh" Ribena,
to me it looks as though it's anything but fresh.

hoping someone knows what I mean,

Amy

Hi, this is McLisa, the listowner Libratsie just mentioned. Yes, we will
have another war and I'm hoping if not this year, next year. I just
discovered that my present job -- I'm a librarian/cataloger -- ends on Oct.
31st (happy Halloween <g>), which is a month earlier than I thought.
Depending on whether I get another one before then, and/or what kind I get,
maybe we could manage a war before Thanksgiving. We'll just have to see.

Welcome to Forkni-l and Fkfic-l, where of course the war would take place.
