Greetings and salutations gentlebeings -

Lately there has been a rash of sightings of the Dreaded Equal Signs! So I
thought I'd take a stab at helping all eliminate this fearful malady. Outlook
is notorious for changing to the to Quoted Printable encoding (which can lead
to... well you know).

In Outlook or Outlook Express (steps may vary slightly depending on version)
try this:

Click Tools on the menubar, and then click Options.
In the Options window, click the Mail Format tab.
Make sure that Plain Text is selected for the Message Format
   Click the Settings button
Make sure Encode Text Using is set to None

Someone on list the list said that the first season had 23 episodes, but every
source I can find lists only 22 (list below) including TVTome and IMDB. They
are the same 22 episodes that are listed for the DVD set (see
tvshowsondvd.com).

Can anyone illuminate that for me?

He still qualifies. Vampire hearts beat six times an hour? Minute? And I'd
guess they'd breathe, even if just to fit in. Maybe they need to?

Just an FYI here. As I had mentioned, I received a copy of the official
announcement of the FK DVDs on August 4 from an inside source with strict
instructions not to announce it until August 11 (which I didn't...Davis DVD
did). I
have just received email from that same source stating that there is a
correction and that the Suggested List Price for the 1st season FK DVDs is
$79.95, not $29.95.

Don't shoot the messenger...I have no idea if the SLP is going to affect the
retail price (retail price is almost always less than SLP, but $50 less seems
a bit of a stretch), and I have no idea if stores that have already let people
preorder at the lower price will honor that lower price. I can definitely
say that $79.95 is much more in keeping with the cost of similar season sets of
other shows, and that $29.95 seemed *extremely* low to me to begin with. At
$16 per disc, $79.95 is perfectly reasonable given current market prices of
DVDs. I have no reason to believe the information is inaccurate, given that all
previous information I had received was completely accurate. I am guessing
the retailers don't know yet, as the sites I've checked still say SLP $29.95.
Or rather, either they don't know or the SLP isn't going to have bearing on
their prices. Personally, I'm not saying a thing to the place I ordered from,
in the hope that they'll have to honor it!

Amazon.com's preorder price is $22.46, discounted from $29.95.

The best translation, I think, would be, "Amen!" or "Amen to that!"

Yeah, and it took me three and a half hours (carrying computer, handbag,
etc.) to make it from John Street to Penn Station (via several other
attempts at Getting Off The Island), plus another hour and a half on the
commuter rail!

Grrrrr. I am still very stiff and very sore.

Do the Mercs accept chocolate-flavored protein bars? I think I should like
a very LARGE electrical shock attached to that red button so that Hisself
should NOT want to try that again!

Damn, am I glad I have a couple of miniature flashlights on my keychains...

$79.96 is at the upper end for this sort of set. I know the Trek ones go for $99
or more, but Buffy, Angel, and others I've seen are usually around $50, give or
take.

Amazon is still at $29.95.

I don't know how I'll afford it at $79.95, but I guess I'd find a way. But I'd
only be buying one set at that price.

I have a Sylvania combo that I got at Sam's Club for
about $120.00 and it's great. The picture quality on
both vhs and dvd players is excellent. I think you
have to use your best judgement when buying a product
and keep the receipt in case you get a lemon. I don't
think price or brand name is a real indication of
quality.

I'll second that advice with the following observation (from experience):
Even the best quality system will not be the same after it has been dropped
from a great height.
But if its packaging shows no significant damage, it will be sent on to be
sold--and the dealer may not even know that it has been traumatized until
you bring it back.

So give anything electronic a workout during the warranty period. If you
don't have time to actually watch a lot of movies, run it anyway, for the
cat. <gr> If there's something wrong with it that's going to show up after
48 hours of use, you'll find out in time to exchange it.
