Subject: hello Becky and all

Hello, Becky asked about my daughter. She is mentally retarded, PDD-Autistic,
unknown muscle disorder, she will be 10 but her ability is about2. Non-verbal,
partially deaf, baby food, diapers, etc. But she's perfect to me. She's my one
and only.
I graduated in 1978, 1990 from college. I've been into scifi since I was 7 or
8. I'm a life time trekkie. I love all the classic's. Bela lugosi, Boris
Karloff, Loe Channey, etc. Vampires are my favorite. Sadly, I didn't find the
club till about seven months ago or so. I saw the movie of FK, but GWD is the
best and so is Nigel. I could go on forever, but I won't. Thanks.

Greetings all,
I joined the list, I think, in 1992 or 93, I cannot remember. I found the show
on CBS Crimetime after Primetime. I thought, cool.
I have been with a partner for 25 years. We are child-free and have two cats.
Both silly.
I am proud to say, and I shall say it, that I am the creator of the N&N phrase
"In love and faith there is forever.".

There is no such thing as enough cats. And even when you think there
is, the neighbor's indoor-only cat decides she doesn't like living
there, and the next thing you know, she's made herself at home on your
bed.*

Hmmm, we know how LC felt about Raleigh, but I wonder how he'd take it
if a cat did that to him? And can anyone else totally see Janette
having a cat?

Hi,

I'm 27 & live in Minnesota, in the Twin Cities metro area. I've been a
sci-fi/fantasy fan since I was a kid and watched classic Trek re-runs
for the first time. I saw Forever Knight when it was first shown in
the US. As for writing, I've been doing that forever. I can't wait
for the FK DVDs. :)

Let's see. I'm going to celebrate my 20th anniversary of my 19th
birthday on the first of July. I teach LD/MR/ED/OHI Special Education
lab. I've been married for 16 years. I have a nine year old son named
David, two dogs and six fish. I live in the outback of Oklahoma.

I got into FK when I started watching crime time after primetime. But
they canned it here after a few eps. When I got online after my son was
born, I joined this list, and became a knightie.

My house number is 1228. kind of strange for a knightie leader! :)

Subject: Re: Hello All

I knew about FORKNI-L and FKFIC-L before joining.

I actually discovered FK when it was on CBS one night when I was flipping
channels. But I only saw enough of an episode to determine the main character
was a vampire. As things like that go, I never managed to find the show again
and basically forgot about it.

During season 2, I remember people in the local science fiction club talking
about it, but I just never managed to watch it. Rather strange as normally it
is something I would have given a chance, I just never did.

I started watching officially at the beginning of Season 3. I'd just been in
my second horrible car wreck in 18 months and was strung out on Valium to try
to make me comfortable. My now-ex and I hosted the local science fiction club
at our house, so a couple of people came to the next meeting to check on me,
mainly. One of them asked if we minded turning on tv as FOREVER KNIGHT was
premiering season 3 and there were suppose to be some major cast changes.

I rather liked it! So the next week, REALLY strung out on Valium because
unknown to me, I was overdosing on it, I watched it. This cockney droog named
Screed was eating rats.

Imagine that scene while you are flying high on valium. Whoa. I was very
upset to find he was a new character so hadn't been in other episodes eating
rats.

I was enrolled in a script writing class at the time, and we had to submit
three story ideas for existing tv shows. One of mine was for FK. I went to a
convention in Oklahoma and was telling someone (maybe PN Elrod, I don't
remember) about the class, and whomever it was told me the show was at risk for
cancellation.

Ooopsie. The good news about the convention was that Katrinka (who just
posted her history) agreed to send me episodes from season 1 and 2. She and some
friends filled me in on FORKNI-L, FKFIC-L, and wars.

I was on-line at the time, but just not really "into" cyber space yet. But
for the class, I had to research whether or not the show was cancelled. By this
time, several months had passed and show we knew for sure it had. But I also
found a notice about the virtual 4th season. So I subscribed to FKFIC to
receive and get involved with that.

Time for yet another Oklahoma convention. PN Elrod showed me a flyer for
Bridging the Knight. Katrinka talked me into joining JADFE. I talked my
then-husband into going to BtK.

I wrote a 2 part story for JADFE and got MAJORLY flamed off-list by two
people (who I don't think remember doing it). I was so upset, I basically posted
a message to JADFE saying if that's the way I was going to be treated, I was
taking the second part of my story and signing off the list.

Well over 100 fan e-mails asking me to stay later, I had QUITE a reputation
(and not as a Ratpacker yet - Screed wasn't in the story!) I didn't post my
first Screed story until Christmas of that year (on FKFIC)

BtK was after Christmas, wasn't it??? (Someone HELP!) In any case, I arrived
at Bridging the Knight with a reputation, somewhat known as a Ratpacker
already, and with a bank loan to get The Ratsie Wot Kilt Screed. I was told it
was quite clear I was getting that rat (and I did).

Highlights included McLisa managing to sit next to me at the auction, leaning
over to read my nametag, and saying, "Your Libby? You are SO cute!" (She
doesn't remember saying that, but she did - I'm a rather small person and I
think that's what she was remarking on). Another highlight of the event was
Nigel Bennett and PN Elrod talking me into throwing the rat in front of John
Kapelos while he was signing autographs.

Since BtK, I managed to meet Greg "Screed" Kramer thanks to Bonnie P. (We
introduced each other, she went to get drinks, and claims Greg and I were bonded
by the time she got back with them - he's a comic book fan, I'm a comic book
writer... we were happily talking about comic books). I now help run his fan
klub. (www.screedwashere.com)

I also am well known for discovering the fact Screed loves his Natsie Ratsie
and vice versa. Yep, it's true! Right there in FEVER for all to see.

As for the Ratsie, well, it lives quite comfy in its police evidence bag in a
nightstand drawer so I can quickly get to it in the event of tornadoes or
fires.

I also can NOT wait for the DVDs!

I'd never heard of these and looked it up, and I have to agree it's a

I was told about FK by a coworker, I believe it was in the third
season (because she was hot for the long-haired guy <g.). I remember
laughing at the premise, but tuned in anyway and after two viewings
was hooked. I'd just discovered the internet and found a newsgroup,
and then fkfanfic.com, and then this list. I dived in head first and
haven't surfaced yet!

I've attended two Gertherings and five LCAs, and gone to Stratford to
see Ger last summer. I've also met the nicest people onlist (waves at
everyone). It's all been a blast!

Hi Y'all!

I've told this story before but I'll chime in again <G> I'm single but
have a very large furry and feathered family that consists of 3 cats, 2
dogs, 2 horses, 1 Barbado sheep and 3 Bantam chickens. I'm a Special
Education teacher.

I found FK one night when I was channel surfing, landed on CBS and saw a
really good looking blond guy faint into the arms of a priest (For I Have
Sinned). I was intrigued and watched for the show the next week. I
finally figured out that the blond guy was a vampire named Nick and that
was all I needed to know.

Then a friend found Mel's fiction site and began downloading the fiction
for me. Then in July 1996 my house was burglarized and my dinosaur of a
computer was stolen. The only good thing to come out of that burglary
was that I got the money for a decent computer with a modem so that I
could get online. I joined the fiction list as soon as I got my new
computer and 6 months later joined forkni-l (about 3 weeks before War 8).
I plunged into War 8 without having a clue as to what I was doing! I've
met some really great folks through the lists and the Wars. FK was my
first online fandom and no matter where my obses...er...passions lead me,
this will always be "home."

I currently maintain the birthday list and post birthday announcements
for the list. E-mail me PRIVATELY, at eowyn3@j..... with your name,
birthdate (no year needed) and e-mail address and I'll be glad to add you
to the birthday announcements.

Ah! That makes me feel better. I'm 52 and feel old, mostly due to the
arthritis in my knees. The good news is that I can walk without pain,
now. The bad news is that it takes incessant exercising to keep it that
way. The good news is that I'm exercising!

I found Forever Knight when I was dialing around one summer. I found the
list shortly after my husband hooked a modem up to our computer. I really
wasn't interested in getting out on the internet at the time. But, I was
torturing some poor co-worker with my obsession to talk about Forever
Knight, and to get me to stop, he said, "You know, there's probably an
email list for that show you're always talking about." I went home that
evening, did a search for Forever Knight and found this list and the old FK
Spoiler list. I was soon happily inundated by mail.

I don't post much any more, mostly because I figure I've pretty much given
every opinion I've ever had about the episodes by this time, so now I just
enjoy hearing what everyone else has to say. Also, I can't spend as much
time at the computer anymore, 'cause nowadays, if I sit at the computer, I
have to tip my head back to see through the bifocals, which soon causes
quite a bit of pain (eeyowch! down my arm, shoulder, shoulder blade,
etc.) Folks I talked to at Wolfville a couple of years ago probably
remember me mentioning that. Thank heavens, that pain is gone. (Although,
it would have been nice if it had gone away the week before I went to Nova
Scotia instead of the week after. Oh, well.)

Anyways, if I can ever find a computer desk that lets me put my computer
monitor below the writing surface of the desk, that might solve my bifocals
problem. Anybody know of one? Of course, if I ever find a desk like that,
I might just start posting more again. You have been warned! <g>

i've been a fan of Forever Knight since the first episode aired in

My next "career" became acting as tour guide for the many FK fans who

I went on the FK tour with Marg, Barbara, and Diane. It was a day I'll long
remember.(Thanks again Marg.) I really enjoy the first Nick Knight movie but
did not see it till after seeing the series. I am a Knightie, Natpacker,
DarkKnightie, and really enjoy LC. He's really fun to write.

Forever a Knightie
