From a practical standpoint? A cargo van, with cargo-area divider, and
have it customized like a "street van"/camper, but without adding in the
street-van windows. And he'd have a good set of shades on the few windows
that are there-regardless. (There *has* to be a vamp mechanic that does
that sort of detail work!)

I just watched Dead of the Night. As you recall Natalie arrives at the
precinct and tells Reese, Nick and Tracy that she thinks Weintroff's death
was an accident. Reese disagrees.
Now I don't know much about police procedure but I would think when a ME
states a death is accidental it is generally ruled accidental.
Someone like Reese does not have the medical expertise to challenge the
coroner's decision.
He can ask questions, He can inquire on what basis she has made her
decision. He might even ask if she has considered this or that when she
reached her conclusion. but he just can't arbitrary rule against her.
The police department is too busy to go off on a tangant searching for a
killer where there may not even be a murder. The case would have to
be closed until new evidence came forth.

I think he'd simply have someone build him a new 62 Caddy, right from
scratch! He can afford it! There are people out there who build custom
cars. Maybe this time he could have some amenities built in, like an
in-trunk fridge, a nice little audio system (headphones, of course
<g>), and so on.

I think you could be right, but talk about hanging onto the past.
Yesterday I had the honor of meeting Lee Holman, the designer of the
Legendary race car, the Ford GT-40. Ford wants to build 16 of them (the
company I work for makes replacement parts for the classic car). So I could
see him going to the designer and commissioning this.

now, how inconspicutus (major sp promblems, I know),
would that be?
How could he get a job as a cop, and stay thought
fairly normal, with such an customized car? Like, as
is in the show, his car is kinda a eye opener (IMHO),
but could kinda be explained away, but if he couldn't
get one anymore, yet had one made, that would be even
more of a "wow" *shrug*

He could simply say that his reproduction Caddy is another
well-preserved old car...or that he has family money...or that he's a
bachelor with nothing better to spend his money on...(list of excuses
goes on)
Just go to any custom rod show, and you'll see lots of ordinary people
who have spent a lot of money on their cars. It's an obsession!

Maybe it's a fanfic cliché, and maybe I'm influenced
by Nigel and Pat Elrod's books, but LaCroix will
always be a Jaguar kind of guy to me, black, or maybe silver.

I'm blaming this one on the severe frustration
engendered by my misbehaving Netscape.
Got attacked by a plot bunny, to which anyone is
welcome.
It would require that the events in "Fever" never
transpired.
In an AU beginning during "Ashes to Ashes", Divia's
evil nature is forever transformed by the Power of
Lurve when while weeding through LaCroix'
acquaintances, one bite renders her besottedly smitten
with Screed.
