Subject: I couldn't help thinking of Screed.
I found the following in the Globe and Mail yesterday. under the
headline Man's New best Friend
According to the article Man's new best friend is a rat.
Devotees of this noble creature have their own rat web page at http/www
rodentfancy.com. and their own society - the American Fancy Rat and Mouse
association and their own newsletter.
They hold rat shows where rats are judged according to internationally
set standards, breeding and personality. The article didn't mention
taste. No doubt an oversight on their part.

Subject: Nick's Loft
The conversion project on Nick's loft, which was called Watertower Lofts,
seems to have been rechristened Broadview Lofts and now has its own website,
www.broadviewlofts.com There are no floor plans or prices, but at least
there's a picture. The water tower is still part of the design, even though
it looks like a good stiff breeze (or a whoosh of displaced air from a
passing vampire) would blow it right off the roof.

Richard McMillan (Viet Nam vet in CR,CH and the Pilgrim in DtKY) is
currently appearing at the Factory Lab Theatre in Toronto in a
highly-praised one man play entitled, "Through These Eyes".

Constable Dickson
In the 1970s, during the early years of my marriage to Richard McMillan,
Rick and I both did our share of children's theatre. At one point, Rick
was on tour with Young People's Theatre in a play called *Almighty Voice*.
This was performed for middle to senior public school students in various
gymnasiums around the province. Rick was playing a Mountie determined to
catch the elusive Indian, 'Almighty Voice'.
I remember one performance vividly. In a particular scene, Rick, in hot
pursuit of Almighty Voice, and ready to close in, was to bark an order at
a subordinate.
'Get my mount ready, Constable Dickson!'
But in his excitement, he instead shouted, 'Get my c*nt ready, Mountable
Dickson!'
The entire gymnasium full of kids went up in laughter for ten minutes as
teachers fainted left and right. [P. 91]

>snip< but Schanke asks Nick for a Loony.
It is the canadian $1 coin. >snip< Like when the $2 coin was introduced, it was
called a Toony.
Actually, it was Nick that asked Schanke for a Loony. The next person that
tries to get money from Schank is told no. He says something like, 'What do I
look like, an ATM machine?"
If you have three dollars, do you have a Loony Toony? Sorry. I couldn't
resist. :-)
I'll go back to bed now.

Subject: FK ALUMNI- VCR Alert for FEBRUARY
Here's what I've found so far for February... I'll do some more
checking this next week. I know I"ve left something out...
but I wanted to get this out now...
As always, please check your local listings for exact dates & times,
I have been known to make typos (and so have the sources I've pulled
from). When there's a / between numbers (8/9) that means it's on late
east coast, early am west coast.
TOP PICKS:
***Do or Die Sci Fi 22,24
New Nigel movie.... from Jayne L'argent, NBN, says.....
" Nigel will be on next month on the Sci-Fi channel. A movie called "Do or
Die." He gets the girl. And then he gets the girl and gets the girl and ...
well you can guess. And there is a very interesting use for a number 2 lead
pencil. Just thought that you guys would like to know."
Cube Independent Film Channel 21,22
with Nicole deBoer, Maurice Dean Wint, Julian Richings,
Nicky Gaudiani, Andrew Miller, and David Hewlett (Kung Fu)
Very interesting puzzler... and Cube2- Hypercube is due out
this summer, with Ger, and a host of other FK alumni
Escape from Iran: The Canadian Caper True 4,8,19
I missed this last time... gonna get it taped this time.
For those of you who have seen many Canadian shows,
(most of you have, Forever Knight, Kung Fu, Nikita, Psi
Factor, Earth:Final Conflict) -- this promises to be not
only a better than average TV movie,
but lots of fun seeing who all is in it.

Yes - but Julian Richings who was in A More Permanent Hell *and* in ONCE A THIEF
as Greg Kramer's partner in assassination (and cleaning), is in the first one.
In fact, he's on the cover of the video.

I think I will stick with Perry and Co, if they don't mind. Unless they
bring across Mickey Mouse. That would be cute. Mickey with fangs and...
say.. *can* a Duck (Donald) become a vampire carouche? No teeth.
