Hi,
I have wondered the very same thing. I have been a police officer for
16 years and never once have I opened something in anyones refrigerator
unless I was looking for drugs, then, I would most likely be looking for
powdery substances. It is common to search a fridge, people hide lots of
stuff in there. It's opening the bottle and spending enough time on it to
realize it is blood inside that strikes me as wierd. Short of the
possibililty of underage drinkers, I can't see any possible reason, other
than literary licence! We would probably be more likely to bring in dogs
first and if they indicate on the contents of the fridge then we would go
through it.

I've also wondered about it, but had a furthur question: I work in a hospital,
and I know that warm blood has a very distinctive scent, but it's very faint
unless in great quantities. Also most things loose a lot of their smell when
they get cold. Would chilled blood give off enough scent through the narrow
neck of a bottle for anyone to tell what it was?

Is it possible they got an anonymous tip from LC to check out the stuff in
the fridge?

I would think that looking in the fridge is a standard when searching a
residence. People often hide things in the fridge. The fact that Nick's fridge
features only wine bottles would be suspicious, and it would be only natural to
take a closer look at the bottles.

The FTP site is located at:

ftp://ftp.win.net/winnet/fkvoyage/fkfanfic/

It looks like Windows Explorer--it contains folders, one for each author.
Inside each folder are the stories from that author, in text format. Simply
click on the story link to read the story.

Congratulations are in order for a great FK Actress. Kristin Lehman was
nominated for a Gemini for 'Best Performance by an Actress in a Guest Role
Dramatic Series' for her guest-starring appearance on Andromeda (she was
"Molly Noguchi" in the ep "Lava and Rockets").

You can read more about it at the Gemini Awards web site,

Thanks, Nancy. I didn't see the question until this morning. I will add, that,
if you want to archive your story at the ftp site just put at the top of the
story that it is okay to archive at the ftp site. I download all the posts and
put them together and upload them.

I'm also thinking that the guy has a rep for never eating anything, so the
lady cop may have been nosing so she could spread the word about what kind of
things Knight ate. Since there were only bottles, that would make it even
more intriguing, and she would want to check it out. Perhaps, since his digs
were so nice, she figured it would be some nice stuff in that bottle, but no
label so she had to take a sniff (maybe even a taste! euwwww!).

Subject: KtK Project Update

Greetings Everyone :)

Well it's been a week or so since I have officially started the newest
Kickstart The Knight project, collecting emails to send to Columbia House
asking them to put Forever Knight on home video (DVD and VHS). To date I
have received only 27 emails. Everyone has shown interest in obtaining
Forever Knight on home video, but 27 people asking will not make that happen.
We need at the very least 500 to 1,000 emails to get their interest. That
means if we are going to get anywhere near that number every single person
online on every FK list has to participate in this.

We at Kickstart The Knight WANT to make this happen, so please, take that few
minutes to email me asking for FK on DVD and/or VHS. Tell your friends,
family, anyone you know with the slightest interest in FK to participate.
Every single fan in every single faction needs to participate...make it a
challenge to see which faction can submit the most emails requesting Forever
Knight on home video. Even fans from other fandoms that enjoy the show can
participate.

We are a strong fandom. After all this time we are still strong and still
here. Let's make TPTB know just how strong we are, how much we want this to
happen as soon as possible!

Just send an email...short and to the point, or as long as you'd like...to me
at: SField8067@a.......
and put: FK: DVD in the subject line.

Remember, I will be collecting until the end of next month. Let's make that
mail they recieve from us something they will pay attention to!

All the best,
Susan Ellen Field
KtK Fearless Leader :)

My father refrigerates opened bottles of red wine. I doubt he's
the only one.

Heck, I've refridgerated wine simply because I'd rather drink it at a cool temp
rather than room temp. Of course, I do have food in my fridge, so it probably
wouldn't be seen as suspicious. I'd be surprised if Nick didn't buy at least a
little food, simply to keep up appearances. It's not like he can't afford it.

Subject: Archiving at the FTP site

If you want all your stories archived at the FTP site and worry that you
will forget to add the permission to each story, what some authors have
done is sent me a separate email giving me permission to archive all their
stories. I then upload that permission to their directory with their
stories. Then they don't have to remember.

Subject: problem

I have a bit of a problem. I don't know if you can help me with
it, but I still thought I'd share it.
The problem is my older brother, the person who introduced me to
FK in 1995. He is also the first person I go to to beta-read my
stories. When I asked him to take a look at what I'd written so
far of part 4 of "Out of the Broomcloset", hoping that he would
give me some advice that would help me get past the point of my
writer's block to the scenes that sre already in my head, he told
me that there were three problems.
1)He can't stand the characters, especially Nick, because
vampires are supposed to be monsters
2)I don't know where I'm going with the story
and 3)I'm not good with dialogue because I'm not good with
conversations.
He didn't say *anything* to help me break through my transition
scene. I have no idea what I should do about that, or about the
fact that he doesn't understand at all that it's FK and the Fk
fandom that have enabled me to get through the past couple of
years. I suffer from depression, and this is one of the only
things that's given me even a modicum of happiness lately.
