I think that actually answers the question. Nick had the opportunity to
sacrifice Lays to get the cup which might have made him mortal. He thought
about it and gave up the cup to save her. If he couldn't cause the death of
a mortal in the heat f the moment, I definitely don't think he could have
done it with a cool head.

I always thought LaCroix cleared up the mess Nick left in this episode.
Nick told Schanke to forget more or less everything that happened that
night, leaving Schanke with a huge gap to fill. LaCroix led Schanke back
through the events thus enabling Schanke to remember Nick saved his
life. LaCroix also provided Schanke with a reasonable explanation for
the relationship between Nick and himself.

Judging from Schanke's reaction to the vampire books I'm not sure he wanted
to believe Nick was a vampire. I think in the end he was quite happy to
have LaCroix persuade him he had been wrong. Having said that I think
part of him would always know the truth. But since he wasn't prepared
to deal with it at the moment it was simpler to ignore it.

It has been a while since I saw this episode. I am back at Unreality TV
wondering why LaCroix bothered to involve the Enforcers to go after the
photographer. Why didn't he just handle the problem himself?

Subject: Schanke's research

I thought folks might find this interesting; I transcribed it from the
show. As canon goes, this is surely right up there!

Schanke's reading from the book _Legends of the Undead_, by Justin
Craig. (Close Call)
"The vampire can move among mortals, but only by night. He can never see

daylight or the sun will incinerate him. He is gifted with extraordinary

powers: incredible strength and physical prowess, has the ability to fly

and move more quickly than the eye can perceive, the ability to persuade

through mesmerism, and he must nourish these skills with ever-increasing

supplies of fresh blood. For all intents and purposes, he is immortal,
coursing through the ages, assuming and then disposing of identities as
easily as mere mortals change clothing. Different identities, different
careers-- always searching, and always moving. "
"Vampires fear symbols of redemption, such as crosses. Vampires often
form loose societies with others of their kind, other vampires who
travel the lonely road through time with them. Vampires recruit new
members of their society from among their mortal acquaintances. These
new vampires often maintain an unfailing allegiance to their master
vampire, the vampire who brought them across into the perpetually dark,
godless world of the undead."

Your very humble & most obedient servant,
Ligeia

You heard about the half-snowman half-vampire?

He want around giving everyone frost-bite

I wonder if LaCroix would chuckle at this or just think its stupid

just so he dosen't bite my head off
(pun intended)

I have the pleasure of working at a store where one of the
customers is named Don Vetter.

Try coming across that after working for ten hours.

How was my weekend? Well, my best friend convinced her ex-
boyfriend's current girlfriend's little brother that she was cool
by eating a live cricket. It went down hill from there.
