Just FYI:

Sony owns Forever Knight.  Until Sony says they're interested (or they're
offered enough money to do so), there will be nothing new with regard to
Forever Knight (this includes DVD or tape release of existing
materials).  Currently, Sony has no interest in Forever Knight.

That interest would be changed if another company, like SciFi or USA or
anyone else for that matter, approached Sony for the rights to develop a
project.  In the past, Sony has turned down requests for a single TV movie,
wanting to contact out for three instead (any deal under $100 million
dollars is literally too small for them to bother with - or so they've said
in the past).  Also remember that the ONLY tie SciFi currently has to
Forever Knight is a contract to syndicate existing episodes . . . which
means the ball could be in anyone's court if Sony were interested in playing.

Keep in mind that there are rumors on Wall Street that USA and SciFi will
be sold once Vivendi starts divesting itself of the large entertainment
company Messier created (they overstated earnings last year by some small
amount - one billion dollars).  What happens when SciFi is sold?  The same
thing that happened when SciFi was sold before - all bets are
off.  Projects in production may be completed and then buried, projects in
the planning stages will simply disappear.  When someone else buys in, they
usually kill anything that involves outgoing money (which means all
existing plans and projects), get their balance sheet in order, and then
put their own plans and projects into motion.  No company can ever afford
to have an inherited project become a hit - because they then can't take
credit for it.

Barry Diller won't be any help at all.  But sending letters to SciFi (and
to Sony) that say you're interested in more Forever Knight couldn't
hurt.  When the new guys come in, they always look around to see what the
old regime has swept under the rug, something from which they think they
might make some quick money, or which might give them a nice media splash
(however brief).  Snail mail letters pile up.  Emails are deleted.

So is there hope?  Yes, there's always hope.  Nothing short term.  Maybe
after the dust from the Vivendi shake up settles down, something might
happen.  In this industry, you just never know.

What I do know is that while on tour for another television series this
summer, I am virtually attacked any time I wear a shirt with the Forever
Knight logo on it.  There are fans all over the world for this show and 90%
of them are NOT on the internet.  Flyers need to be placed at conventions,
word needs to be gotten out through local SF groups.  Use other fandoms to
help spread the word - the Buffy fans are perfect for this.  Make tapes and
have them shown at con video rooms.  Pass out freebies at cons.  Recreate
the viewer base the FK once had and could easily have again using cheap,
viral marketing.  It's not easy, but it CAN be done.  It very probably
should be done.

But that means someone's gotta do it.
